Title: Declaration of Candiacy

I must admit, I am not Canadian for alll too long. However, I have my ideas, and I have my visions, so to speak. And that is what convinced me to run here.

Canada surely is a great place to be in. I havent really integrated myself into the OOC and Governmental areas - I concentrate myself on the interior roleplaying. And that is exactly why I run.
Canada's community offers some great things to its members, but it can never hurt to add to this, right? And for those who want to RP better RP features should be added, in my opinion. And I think that would be a task, a great task, for the Minister of Regional Affairs. I would concentrate on this. I of course also would be the link between members and government - that also would be my job. But that is the every-day stuff. My platform is to strengthen RP.

I have helped to build up RP in Western Europe. Now many will find some illogics and some errors in our RP systems, but we do continously fix them. Yes, it is a never-ending task, but I have contribute dto it in Western Europe, so I feel I can do so here, too.

Canada has a great community, great governmental structure and great links to other nations - time to build up a new segment. Better Roleplaying. More activity. More compelx rulesystem. Recruiting. RP just needs to get more attention!

A lot of people come here for just OOC chitchat and games. Which is fine. Government concentrates primarily with extra and interregional issues. Which leaves a very lacking RP system, I agree.

What I'd like to see would be to have a core of forumers who come here mainly for the RP. We already have a core of non RPers. I'd like to see RP recruiting from the regionmembers who don't already visit the forum. That way we would have a mix of people who come here for many different reasons. And it would draw more people to the region

If you're up for the challenge you got my vote.

But you know me too with the rules and whatnot. I'm not for heavily moderated gunfights. So as long as you run every rule update by the forumers first before implementinga nything, I don't see a problem. A lot of dicussing and problem solving goes on constantly in this region. Im sure you'll fit in fine.

Just a few questions:

What was your original motivation for running for office?

You have stated that you intend on promoting RPing in the region, what is your vision for the other areas under the purview of the Ministry of Regional Affairs?

What skills and experiences do you possess that make you suitable for this position?

My original motivation was.... well you see, I am part of the W.European immigration to Canada that currently still seems to go on. And I found Canada to be a great place, but I also found it lacks something- RP, to be precise. I mean, nationstates is a simulation of nations, so if this region has forums and out-of-NS organisation and stuff, why not use it properly for RP?
I tried the RP here but found the lack of particpation, uhm, annoying. However, I also saw potential, so I decided to try to act upon this potential.

That does not mean I would find the other areas, which I described as "community" and "government" tobe unimportant. However, in those areas, Canada does not lack. Those areas are already good, so Id focus my enegry where, IMO, it is needed more.
How this translates to the other tasks of the MRA.... well, informing the community of upcoming events, and organising elections are routine jobs, that I feel very much capable of handling. Organisation of course requires a bit of talent for it, and I woiuldntc all me a genius here, but I think I have enough.
It seem simportant to me that the MRA keeps in touch with all region and especially forum members. Only thus he can tell the opinions o fthe people, and decide whioch things ar eimportant and which are not. And especially here I think I am ver ywell suited, as creating and keeping up various online contacts and harmonising tehir interests is omething I am tested in.

My experiences steam mostly from Western Europe, where i helped to build up teh RP system there. My skills I would describe ascreativity, "stategical overview" so to say, and, last but not least, the will to eastblish something here!
