Title: Christie from the SP

athynz - June 28, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
I'm not too sure if any of you knew her or not, but I just wanted to post this letting you guys know about her passing. She was a fixture of the SP and will be missed by all there.

QUOTE
I have never really been good at reporting bad news, and I always am uncomfortable trying to sugarcoat things, so I am just going to blurt this out. I found out last evening that on Tuesday of last week, Christie went to be with her mother. I am not really sure what happened, her brother just said that it was due to complications from her injuries. Her body was cremated and her family spread her ashes over the Gulf of Mexico (as was her wish) Saturday afternoon.

I am sorry that I do not have more to tell. I did not hear from her since I last reported to you all, and I am shocked. I thought that she was doing much better from the last report I had gotten. I know that she was an organ donor, and hopefully, her heart is beating in someone else right now…maybe that heart will find the love for someone else that it could not find for her, and hopefully through the donation of her ocular tissue, someone out there is now seeing the world through her eyes.

I really don’t know what else to say.

In friendship and sorrow….

The SP forum has a "in rememberance" post set up for those who wish to pay their respects.

Please, send my sympathies along as well, to the family and to all the nations who knew Christie.

Send my sympathies as well. It's sad when we lose people. Especially in such a knit net community, even if we didn't know her personally. A moment of silence in Canada, please.
