Good day all citizens of the region of Canada!

I am the 10000 Islands ambassador, and I will serve as a contactman between our two regions. I will do my best to answer any questions you might have about the 10000 Islands, and also questions in general.

About communication between you and me:
The languages I know are Swedish, English, and a bit French so please use these languages when asking questions (preferably as little french as possible though, my French isn't exactly... good). You can also use Norwegian and Danish, but if you do, you'll get the answers in Swedish.

One of the greatest holidays in the 10000 Islands is coming up...
On the 30th of July the citizens of the 10000 Islands celebrate the "Empire of Power attack day". On that day one year ago the region of 10000 islands was attacked by the invader region called the Empire of power, the Empire of power was defeated but only by one endorsement, and without the help of many other regions, the 10000 Islands wouldn't have survived. The people and leaders would on this day like to thank all who participated in the defence.

Other happenings in July:

July 13: Campaigns for senate elections 1 & 2 begins
July 20: Senate elections 1 & 2 begins
July 27: Senate Elections 1 & 2 ends

Also, recently TITO set a new record by defending five different regions in one night.

Short report:

The 10000 Islands have lost some nations recently. The immigration department is taking care of the situation so soon everything will be OK again, hopefully.

The new layout isn't completely approved of by the 10000 Islanders, many have complained that the new layout is slow and the forum isn't working properly. Some nations, however are satisfied with the new layout.

The 10000 Islands voted no in the last UN resolution ("ban of death penalty"), this was done after a poll showed that 57% of active 10000 Islanders were against it.

Also founder Grub was pleased to announce that according to a poll conducted among nationstates players, TITO is the strongest military force in the nationstates world. What is also interesting is that all armies that reached top 5 in the poll are defenders, the best raider army is that of DEN, which finished sixth.

On the 30th of june the 10000 Islands was the third largest user-created region in the nationstates-world.

Recently the monthly report from the 10000 islands government, the council of nine, was released and can be read at the 10000 Islands forum. One point in it concerned Canada, and that was me being confirmed as the ambassador to your region.

Apart from that, not much has happened...

New report, mostly concerning a recent event that caused much confusion in the 10000 Islands.

Recently a message from an important 10000 Islands nation that had ceased to exist reached the public, it said:

"Tonight, your elected Senator, Naoi, will cease to exist. However, I stand right here for all of you.

28 days ago, Grub* and Fleeb** invited me into a conference over AIM. They told me of strong evidence that Martian City-States sent to them regarding me being a spy against the islands. Among this evidence was a multi-paged chat transcript and 12 screenshots logged into TITO HQ under the Naoi username. Mind you, this isn't the first time MCS tried to get me in trouble.

A similar chat transcipt was released, but soon denied by the Council of Nine, because two members who have talked to me several times via Instant Messengers knew that this was not my natural speaking.

I was accused of being a spy and was facing ejection, as I had no physical evidence to back my claims of innocence. I didn't want the region to worry about their Senator being a spy. I saw this happen with EU-topia and everyone freaked out and was worried regional security. Also, I didn't want MCS to win. If he knew he got me ejected, there'd be so much for him to gloat about.

I gave my password to Grub and asked him to change it. My plan was to have Naoi simply die off. Then, shortly after, I realized this was even worse than letting Naoi be ejected. What's happening now, is the nations of 10000 Islands are being lied to. Grub is going to let Naoi die, and that will be the end of it.

I've asked Grub for Naoi's password on a few occasions and have always been told "Naoi is going to have to Cease to Exist." I asked the NS Moderators for their assistance twice and was told that there was nothing they'd be able to do. Grub has Naoi and he has no intent on letting go."

This message stirred up a lot of confusion and anger, some even mistrused the 10000 Islands government for a minute there, why would they trust a treacherous DEN nation like MCS over a well respected 10000 Islands nation? Most nations believed that Naoi had been framed, much like Grub was by the same nation earlier this year. It didn't take long until the truth was revealed however. A message from Grub, explaining the situation was posted in the 10000 Islands forum:


..."Naoi is/was an agent of DEN. When he came to the 10000 Islands, he wasn't happy because I didn't endorse him in a Senate race and he generally thought that the greatest of Naoi wasn't being fully appreciated. It was at this time that Martian City-States of DEN started to contact Naoi. MCS was looking to "prey on the weak minded" as he put it and he found one.

I won't go through the whole timeline, but over the next few weeks, Naoi & MCS spoke more and one day MCS asked Naoi if he would like to work for DEN. Naoi eventually said yes and gave MCS his forum user name, password, and the passwords at the time for TITO HQ, War Records & Education Dept.. At the time, Naoi was only one a very few to have that password.

MCS provided several bits of info that at face value would be utterly d**ning to Naoi, including extended chat transcripts where Naoi gave all of this info to DEN.

Now, you may be asking yourself at this point, why would you believe a DEN member over good ole Naoi? At first, I didn't either. I asked Naoi about this and of course he denied everything outside of speaking with MCS. (This was the main reason we instituted a no fraternization with the enemy rule for TITO members.) MCS sent more evidence and this time it couldn't be written off any longer. In fact, MCS went so far as to give us the password to one of his puppets. One of us logged into this DEN nation and sitting there were telegrams from none other than our boy Naoi. Do you want to see one? Read more and you will.

When Fleeb & I told Naoi that there was enough evidence for a trial in the Council of Nine*, Naoi said he would stand trial and still said he was innocent of spying. This evidence we had was very substantial; Naoi was caught with his pants down and we all knew it, but Naoi still denied the charges.

The way I saw it, Naoi decided to work for DEN because he was unhappy at the time, but then later changed his mind when he realized that any nation can become an important part of the region and realized that, in fact, I never hated him. When he realized that, he pulled away from DEN and no longer gave them info. Naoi's refusal to continue his spying led MCS to set out to ruin Naoi and show his weakness and disgrace to the whole region. The only reason MCS gave us this info is because Naoi backed out on MCS and Naoi's usefulness to DEN was over.

Anyway, it was during my talk with Naoi & Fleeb where the punishment that a nation convicted of spying would receive was discussed. One option that was discussed was letting Naoi cease to exist quietly. This option was presented because I felt that Naoi had stopped providing DEN info and because Naoi was well liked and respected in the region. Plus, I am sure DEN would feel good about us talking about them so much, which I'm sure they do. The three of us signed off that night and I told Naoi that the next day I would present the charges to the Council of Nine for a trial.

Keep in mind that at this time, that the evidence we had on Naoi was far more than enough to easily convict him. Naoi was *totally* busted. But, when I checked in the next day, I had a telegram from Naoi where he apologized for spying and telling us that he accepts letting Naoi CTE so he could leave with some form of honor.

Naoi - "I truly am sorry. I tried so hard to make up for what I did, but there's just no way to do that."

So at this point we have a boat load of evidence from MCS that is d**ning to Naoi, and his confession. But wait, there is more!

That same day I got the last nail in the coffin of Naoi (not that we needed more because the coffin was already full of nails.) MCS, still on a mission to get back at the nation that cut off his spying info, provided us with the password to one of his nations. Hmmm, that is interesting, why would MCS do that? Well, when we logged in, sitting in the telegram inbox were multiple telegrams from none other than Naoi.

Here is one of those messages from Naoi to the DEN nation -- 49 days ago at the time (=22 Apr 04): "Hey, I think it would be a really good idea to not access my off-site forum anymore. They're tracking IP's that enter the site and not, so if they see me enter from mine one minute, then a nother all the sudden, they'll figure it out.

They're talking about a lot of new security tracking to figure out if people have our names or not. If there's any info you'd like after this, I'll just give it to you as it comes, but it would probably be for the best that you not access my account anymore. Thanks."

Again, that was from Naoi to the DEN nation..." (the message continues here, but the rest of it is rather unimportant)

So what we've got here is that Naoi was a spy that was offered the chance to cease to exist with his reputation still intact. Appearantly he changed his mind in the last minute (his message was posted the same day as he CTE'd). The truth has been told and I am telling you this as it will be valuable info if Naoi shows up in your region (he has a new nation named New Naoi).

The 10000 Islands have now recovered but many are sad as Naoi was always very friendly, as well as he was a very important nation.
