Fellow Canadians,
I came into the position of Minister of Regional Affairs by the back door, so to speak -- stepping in for Bweezy as his Deputy. Now, I'm knocking on your front doors to ask you to return me to the position with a proper mandate.
I thank you for your time, and I welcome any questions you may have.
Because I feel like asking a question and don't have a real question to ask:
What have you done while in government that you would say you're proud of?
I guess I'm moderately proud of being sufficiently competent during Bweezy's suspension that he felt comfortable going on permanent vacation. And I've released the Cabinet Reports more or less on time, each week.
You didn't ask this, but one thing I'm less proud of is that I am only now coming up to speed on some of the other functions of the post. Checkers has been doing some of the mass-communications functions that really should have been my responsibility. I will endeavour to do a better job, in that respect, should I be elected.
