hello im a newb to the game and the site so could anyone tell me which is the better electric pokemon to have :

if there are any other sugetions plese tell also iv never been to a nintendo pokemon fair partly because i don't konw where they are and if i ever entered a pokemon comp can i use legendaries

Which version are you playing?
Out of the 3, raichu is the best. Jolteon's not too bad if you can get Hidden Power ice on it (GS and above only).

Hmmm, then you could try lanturn.
It has high Hp and is very versatile.

Ampharos is also good.

If you bother to breed until you get an eevee that has hidden power ice, then jolteo would be very powerful.

Otherwise, you can always use a non-electric pokemon with electric type moves. (eg. alakazam with thunderpunch, gardevoir with thunderbolt etc.)

thanks but i can't really get many pokemon, i only have leaf green. i'm going to get diamond/pearl but that ages away(aparantly a year in europe).
i have a next door naighbour whos cousin has ruby but he comes every quaterly so i can't really rely on that.

I may take some one out like an electric type for dragonite/metagross.

Have your alakazam learn thunderpunch, and you won't need an electric pokemon anymore. :)
That way, you can have another pokemon on your team.

where can i get that tm(thunder punch) from or do i have to chain breed because i don't have the other games

Breed it with hitmonchan.
That way, you can get the other elemental punches on Al' too.
