Title: Gameshark, Action Replay, or Codebreaker?
Severest - October 24, 2004 05:15 PM (GMT)
Well, I have action replay.
bunnygirl - October 24, 2004 05:53 PM (GMT)
I have an Action Replay for GameCube, and a GameShark for GameBoy and GameBoy Advance. I regret the day I bought the Action Replay.
The GameShark was so much better because it was a breeze to find codes for it.

I dont understand how to use the codes for action replay for GBA. I want to go the birth and navel island, this is the only reason i bought it. Can someone help me?

I took a trip to gamefaqs.com and here is what I came up with:
You need to put in both the ticket codes and the island codes in order to access them. One without the other does not work. BUT, you cannot have both the ticket codes inputted at the same time. You also need to imput a DMA Disable code.
And of course, you will need the Master Code (I'm assuming you have the US version of the game, so all of these codes are for the US versions. If you have the European version of the game I'm not sure if these will work.) Also, the FAQ says that you need a real "Action Replay V3" and not an updated AR or GSA.

Looks like too much of a hassle to be bothered with, in my opinion. But if you are dying to get to those islands, make absolute sure that you have the right regional game, the right Action Replay and that you have put in all the necessary codes. And of course, make sure you are inputting the correct codes for what version of the game you have.
Information from Pokemonhacker and loadingNOW's FAQ located here:
http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/...on_frlg_par.txt(go to GameFaqs.com and then paste the link, won't work otherwise)

For the codes though, do you put in the first column and then the next, or the first row and then the next?
bunnygirl - November 4, 2004 11:57 PM (GMT)
Rows. Put in the codes going from left to right, then start from the first one on the next row. Codes are always written in columns because it makes them easier to read.

Ok, thankyou for the information. It is greatly appreciated.

No problem. Just hope it works.

Also, you could try the website that was on the back of the box.
www. codejunkies.com, which has a great section of pokemon codes for the Action Replay. The replay is better in my opinion because you don't have as many hardware problems. The hardware isn't reliable at all with the gameshark(or maybe just my experiences). Most of the codes made for the gameshark don't even work. And AR doesn't burn the battery like gameshark does.

If you'd notice, CodeJunkies doesn't have the codes to go to the islands.
Personally I've had more problems with the Action Replay (for GameCube, which made it worse because you had to set it up all over again). The only trouble I've had with the GameShark is sometimes the GBA wouldn't read it, in which case I just took it out and cleaned it off to get it to work. And batteries, well, I never used batteries for my GBA, just a battery pack, so I never had any trouble with that.

To goto the islands with the legends? They offer the tickets. And you shouldn't need to goto the Sevii if you haven't beat the Elite 4 yet.
I meant batteries from the game. I once used 5 cheats on my Sapphire version and then the game battery blew out(Four months after my SP battery dehydrated for good.). I've just had more problems with the GS than the AR. I once accidently pressed the reset button and the GS didn't work any longer. I've had like 6 Gamesharks.

What are you talking about? We are talking about codes to get to the two secret islands.

Again...are you just lost or what? We are talking about Birth Island and Navel Rock.

Perhaps you just have bad luck with GameSharks, then. The worst thing that has ever happened is my game freezing, but all I had to do was restart it and everything was fine; there wasn't even any data loss.
