Title: Soul Calibur II

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

one of the games i got for Christmas. i knew i had to have it in my collection when i saw Link on the box. i went to ign.com and read a little about it, and i was satisfied with what i read. i like fighting games, but im not really big on them. it seemed like a pretty good game though.

i was pleasantly surprised when i played it. the first thing you notice are the beautiful graphics! awesome graphics like in this game was definitely a nice change in pace from the other games ive been playing, most of them dont even come close. the character models are perfection. beautiful, smooth, realistic. and the hair on them looked damn good too.

this game reminded me of Bloody Roar: Primal Fury when i first played it. it too has nice smooth graphics and cool fighting but no blood, and bouncy tits on the female characters  compared to BR: PF though the graphics are much better, and the overall realism of the characters are better also. ill name some of my favorite characters.

Link - of course he was going to be my fav ^_^ i LOVE his face in this game. his actions are very loyal to his real personality. no talking...just makes sounds. he can use arrows and bombs and even his boomerang. his real strength lies in his sword though. he can seriously kick some ass. i hate when i have to battle against him, because hes so damn good.

Xianghua - a female character with quite a strange name. its pronounced "shang-HWA". this character doesnt wear revealing clothes and doesnt have overly-large attributes or cleavage that could attack you. she manages to maintain a classy sexiness. her voice can be extremely irritating, because its so high pitched and she has a kiddy sense of humor, but when it comes to battling...wow. i always get my ass kicked by her when shes the enemy. she has a long range weapon, which i prefer over short ones by a mile, and shes very quick, which is also a plus.

Raphael - eh...i cant help but find this character attractive. must be the British accent ;) hes very classy and moves with elegance as if dancing with you, but can really stick you good with that weapon of his. my favorite move of his is when you grab your oppenent by the side. he dips them (you know, how guys dip the girls and one of their legs go up) and then stabs you :D its awesome.

Ivy - ah, the character that wears very revealing clothes. and the very image of a dominatrix. its strange. the first time i saw her she was wearing her second outfit, which completely covers her body from the neck down. then i chose her to battle, and i was shocked! her outfit is...quite revealing. but anyway. her weapon is my absolute favorite. its a sword, but it can turn into a whip as you fight! its just so cool.

oh i should have mentioned. the coolest thing about the game is the Weapon Master part :D you go around and do different missions. you win money and experience...although the experience doesnt make you stronger...and you can buy new weapons, outfits, galleries, etc. this is also where you get the secret characters. im proud to say that i have every item :D the joke weapons are my fav.

----

other characters i should mention...

Yoshimitsu - this guy is a total freak, and took me by surprise. when you set the language to Japanese, he doesnt talk, only makes sounds. but in English, he does, and has the weirdest voice ever. hes the only character ive seen that can regenerate energy. (you just HAVE to see what he looks like when hes doing that, btw.) he wears a mask so you cant see his face...which makes it even more creepy.

Taki - OMG. i cant believe they got away with this. if you saw Ivy, youd think "damn, this has to be the worst one". but you got another thing coming if you havent seen Takis outfit! she completely clothed, but that must be some really thin material, because you can practically see her naked body. you can even see her nipples! im NOT joking. theyre in plain view. and not only that, but her boobs literally flop and jiggle all over the place when she battles. jesus! at least Ivy has some restraint on her boobs. another funny thing about Taki is that she sounds just like Micheal Jackson at one point. youd have to hear it for yourself.

Voldo - definitely the strangest character. hes an old man, wrapped in some type of tape, or whatever. his weapons are on his hands. they stick out like giant metal claws. depending on what you equip him with you can get quite an awesome effect. he moves like a snake...and hes very, very flexible. so flexible its scary. i dont know if i could really expain it.

Seung Mina - there is nothing strange about this character. so why did i mention her? HER THIRD OUTFIT. revealing? no, not at first. its a big kimono-type dress. i was like, wtf? i had a good laugh though when i had her battle in it. the whole thing flies up when she falls down. it stops just beneath her boobs  there are a few characters that have dresses that fly up but this is just rediculous.

anyway, this is a really awesome game and i recommend it to everybody. its rated "T" though (im still stuck on how they didnt rate it for nudity). you might be offended by the female characters if youre a girl though. personally im not offended by it, i find it hilarious

This game's so cool. I like using Nightmare, but I find him too slow. Raphael is pretty good. But too easy to use.
I think Link or Cervantes is the best to use.

bunnygirl - February 11, 2004 03:42 AM (GMT)
finally someone else who has the game..

Cervantes is too slow for my taste. i like fast characters.

I don't actually own it, but I played it for a few hours when my friend brought it over. Because of my play style, I like taking the Easy Road, so I always go with the quick Raphael. But my friend here is like a Nintendo Pro and if he wanted to, he could Master the game. :ph43r:

Well anyways, I used Raphael and he used Link. I beat him several times, sometimes without having him hit me back. But, eventually he found a way to beat me with Link's Arrows and Boomerang. -_-

bunnygirl - February 11, 2004 04:11 AM (GMT)
heh, ive beaten that game. i have every single item, every gallery, every character, every costume. im usually not too good with fighting games, but this one wasnt insanely hard like most other ones ive played. i dont really consider using a fast character to be the 'easy way' to play, because the slower a character is the more powerful they are, and are quite dangerous..

spewing gargoyle - May 24, 2004 09:33 PM (GMT)
and right you are that they dangerous. an perfect example would be ivy (sorry but she's my fave...and NOT because of the outfit!) she really slow(slower than her father and even astaroth!) ever see her pull of a summon suffering on you? it takes about third of your life!

bunnygirl - May 25, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
Ivy is awesome. I was having trouble with the final fight with Inferno in that adventure mode thing with Link. So I picked Ivy, whose controls I'm not very familiar with, and not only did I beat him on my first try, but I whooped his ass.

Soul Calibur II could use some online capabilities. I'd love to try out some 'fresh opponents'... ;) I'll agree that Link and Ivy are incredible. I'm surprized that noone mentionned Kilik yet... Once mastered, he controls speed, power, and range. My fave.

spewing gargoyle - May 25, 2004 11:56 AM (GMT)
i've developed a bad feeling against kilik...HE ALWAYS PISSES ME OFF IN EXTREMELY HARD!!! Gr...stupid pokes...oh and not to challenge your skills Zephyrion *bows to Zephyrion* but almost any character can be really good with proper training. i got whooped by nightmare soooooo many time from other players...then again...power+reach=ownage

Zephyrion - May 26, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
I agree. It's just that some characters require a bit more work to bring out their best...
