Title: Pokemon Oddities

bunnygirl - January 10, 2004 02:16 PM (GMT)
hm, well this sucks ass. my entire "Noels Favs" folder (which had everything of mine in it) just disappeared. i went to save something in it and wondered why it wasnt listed...i looked on my desktop and it was gone. i even did a search for it and nothing turned up. all of my odd pokemon pics were in there, and i had collected quite a few since the list of pics on i posted. damn...there were some really strange ones tooT_T

bunnygirl - December 20, 2003 02:35 AM (GMT)
Browsing Ebay, ive come across some pretty unusual Pokemon items. these arent only from the regular ebay.com, but ones in different languages too. click on the names to see the pic.

im having trouble with the picture links so they dont work at the moment.

Swarovski Crystal Pikachu
i remember finding this on the main Ebay website. someone took a crappy, plastic Pikachu Pez dispenser and carefully studded it with Swarovski Crystal to make a work of art. Swarovski Crystal is noted worldwide for its purity, brilliance, refractive qualities and collectible properties (i got that from a website but its true). mixing cheapness and elegance is quite unusual, and here is the result.

Pokemon Kiosk
i rarely see these on Ebay. these are the machines that were placed in Blockbuster for a short time so players could print out their snapshots after playing Pokemon Snap. needless to say, the few times they have been spotted on Ebay they have been very expensive.

American Pokemon Green
now ive seen these fakes being sold on Ebay, but this guy made it pretty elaborate. Complete with pictures of the box, cartridge and even what appears to be a Players Guide. however...GameBoy Color? i think this was a mistake...

Pokemon VCR
i think these are slowly started to creep up on Ebay...

Pokemon Pinball Advance...Huh?
id find it pretty suspicious that someone is trying to sell me Pokemon Pinball Ru/Sa and showed me this picture of it...

Pokemon Silver Advance
not only is there no such thing as Pokemon Silver Advance, but the cartridge doesnt even look like the one for GBC, and doesnt even have the label.

Custom Pokemon Shirt
this is kinda cute. although i think the font for your name could look a lot better.

Pokemon Christmas Tree
i think this is being sold in the Pokemon Center in NY only. ive only seen one on Ebay so far.

Silver Pikachu Necklaces

correct me if im wrong, but i believe these arent official. whoever made them though did a beautiful job.

Vampire Pikachu
sorry, no pic for this. i found it a long time ago and never saved the pic. it was a plastic Pikachu that someone painted professionally to turn him into a vampire. it was very nicely done, complete with a little cloak.

I don't think anyone would if they were in their right mind...

bunnygirl - December 21, 2003 07:53 PM (GMT)
haha, i think the correct question is...who in their right mind would make that?

anyway, next pic. i actually already posted the pic for today, but it was late last night so ill count it as yesterday :D

Help... Another totally useless thing!

bunnygirl - December 22, 2003 07:31 PM (GMT)
i think it would be kind of cool to have one of those. where to put it might be a problem though...

-odd pic of the day-

American Pokemon Green

Strange...if you look really close on the bottom of the cartridge it has the 'GS Series' logo...

Don't believe me? Take a look:

I can tell this person doesn't really know what the first Pokemon games' boxes looked like. What was with the title? I have both red and blue(and silver, gold, crystal, ruby and sapphire, but that's another story) and I'm positive that wasn'tt what the boxes looked like. That's a very cheap impression, especially because of the 'GS' symbol.

bunnygirl - December 23, 2003 05:18 AM (GMT)
plus, the American boxes are square, not rectangular.
*edit* i just realized...that might be the little booklet that comes with the game, not the box.

-odd pic of the day-

Pokemon VCR

i think these are slowly started to creep up on Ebay...

Nope, I'm looking at the Pokemon Red booklet right now, and the booklets don't even have the version's pokemon on them(charizard, blastoise, Ho-oh, Lugia, ect.)!

oh yeah...red, blue and yellow have those brown booklets.

-odd pic of the day-

Pokemon Pinball Advance...Huh?

id find it pretty suspicious that someone is trying to sell me Pokemon Pinball Ru/Sa and showed me this picture of it...

LavenderAlana - December 25, 2003 12:51 AM (GMT)
That's just sad. People try to fake games, but do it really bad.

And what's with 'Rated RP for everyone'? I thought it was E...

bunnygirl - December 25, 2003 02:23 AM (GMT)
"RP" is Rating Pending...it means they havent decided the rating yet. this isnt the final box art. from what ive seen, companies whip up a 'prototype' box art so they can have some sort of picture for amazon.com and stuff. i dont think its possible to actually own the proto box though...so thats why i find this quite suspicious.

Latios 007 - December 25, 2003 05:12 PM (GMT)
I've tried Pokemon Pinball Ru/Sa it's quite a fun game, I like it. Forgot to ask for it for Christmas though... Well, anyway yes that is kinda suspicious...

Pokemon Silver Advance

rayquaza_gurl - December 26, 2003 07:48 PM (GMT)
man...that's a pretty bad impression of a pokemon game, to not even have the label. I hafta say, they did a nice job with the purple-sparkly cartridge, tho..

nomekrhi - December 26, 2003 08:08 PM (GMT)
You'd think that if it was Pokemon Silver Advance that it would be a GBA cartridge...

its the wrong color though. i thought maybe it was due to the lighting or something, but i compared it to many pics of the real Pokemon Silver and the colors arent even close.

Latios 007 - December 27, 2003 04:01 AM (GMT)
XP Awful.

Pokemon Custom Shirt

this is kinda cute. although i think the font for your name could look a lot better.

Screeeech 2004 - December 27, 2003 10:34 AM (GMT)
Those are some cool things to own...especialy the pokémon Snap printer! But dont judge the 'Fake' games before you see them...i have many fake (and most probably illegal) games!

bunnygirl - December 29, 2003 07:54 AM (GMT)
i know, fake games can really be bought. ive downloaded Pokemon Diamond and im still looking for Jade.

I did download Pokemon Diamond a while ago, but then I deleted it because I found it to be kinda boring.

bunnygirl - December 29, 2003 08:50 PM (GMT)
same here. i didnt get very far on it. its just a hack of some other game...i forgot what its called.

kyogre 2000 - December 31, 2003 12:38 PM (GMT)
they did a pokemon jade? (i know its fake)
i thought they only did that fake pokemon diamond thing where you had to telephone your monsters into battle...

bunnygirl - January 1, 2004 12:11 AM (GMT)
yes, there is a Pokemon Jade.
i remember something about a phone in Pokemon Diamond...but i dont recall anything about "telephoning" your Pokemon into battle.

*edit*
wait a minute...that telephone thing rang a bell. i think the original game was called "Telefang".

bunnygirl - January 2, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
finally i can post more pics.

-odd pic of the day-

Pokemon Christmas Tree

i think this is being sold in the Pokemon Center in NY only. ive only seen one on Ebay so far.

kyogre 2000 - January 6, 2004 12:56 PM (GMT)
i cant see it!
meh... i'm gonna go find some hacked roms.

bunnygirl - January 6, 2004 11:24 PM (GMT)
wtf? i thought i deleted that. the Christmas Tree pic was too big to attach so i was just going to post the next thing.

-odd pic of the day-

Silver Pikachu Necklaces

correct me if im wrong, but i believe these arent official. whoever made them though did a beautiful job.

kyogre 2000 - January 10, 2004 01:35 PM (GMT)
thats cool!
if i were a girl, i'd see where i could get one!

Disaster Absol - January 11, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)

user posted image

I found this strange for a couple of reasons...

1. If it was Pokemon Blue wouldn't it be for the original GameBoy?
2. If it's in Spanish wouldn't the description and the name of the item be in Spanish to attract Spanish customers?
3. The Official Nintendo Seal of Quality is missing.
