well it depends on where you are. what i would do is catch a Magikarp and train it till it evovles. then i suggest catching other types as well like a Dark or Psychic.

jester89 - October 20, 2003 08:46 PM (GMT)
hmm..yes that is a thought...I hate the wait though....then The Gyrados will be cut short of levels...The training that it will require to get caught up will lose my other pokemon's pace of leveling...Umm is that bird that is half water/half flying any good? Also...are there any psychisc you suggest?

if you mean Pelipper, yes. he is a good pokemon to start with till you can get better water pokemon. i was going to suggest Kyogre, but you have the Ruby version... a good Psychic type would be Ralts or Abra. train them and they are very strong. believe me.

jester89 - October 20, 2003 08:58 PM (GMT)
sweet thanks alot...no Kyogre!!!! thats gay...what pokemon do I get in exchange?

2legendary4u - October 20, 2003 09:03 PM (GMT)
Groudon, a Ground type...

jester89 - October 20, 2003 09:47 PM (GMT)

Milotic is always a good pokemon if you're playing Ruby, and need to make up for Kyogre
http://kyogre.pgamers.com/strategy/s19.htm
that Done by me =)

If you're looking for a good psychic pokemon
http://kyogre.pgamers.com/strategy/s12.htm
a great analysys on Alakazam. This was done by the official strategist Zephyrion. A real good player.

2legendary4u - October 21, 2003 05:21 PM (GMT)
yeah but in order to get Milotic, you need Feeble, but the chances of finding him or her is 1,000,000,000 to 1.

actually it depends on the saying in Dewford Town.....

2legendary4u - October 21, 2003 10:17 PM (GMT)
yeah but it is still hard to find..

Stinger - October 21, 2003 11:29 PM (GMT)
Nome got half of the answer. 2l4u, you don't know what you're talking about.

Feebas
Well, Feebas is a very unique catch. He can be found on Route 119. What you have to realize, though, is that Feebas can't be found EVERYWHERE on Route 119; it is relegated to but six of roughly 400 water tiles on this particular route (FYI, your character stands on one "tile" at any given time and every step he/she takes is one tile length, just to give you an idea of how many spaces you'll have to check). The tiles that Feebas inhabits are completely random; there's no point in asking your friend where THEY caught Feebas because its location will undoubtedly be different in your game. In the few tiles that DO contain Feebas you have about a 75% chance of finding one, so fish each tile a few times to make sure you don't miss it (it is recommended that you use the Old Rod for this venture, since if you use the Good or Super Rod you'll be running into a lot of Carvahna). The six Feebas tiles can be randomized by changing the "popular phrase" in Dewford Town, though I wouldn't recommend you do this since you'll be doing a lot of searching either way and if you randomize the tiles you'll have erased all the tiles you've eliminated as potential Feebas haunts up to this point. Conversely, as long as you leave the phrase in Dewford alone the Feebas tiles won't change, so I suggest once you find one you make a note of its EXACT location so you'll never have to search for it again (though making sure you catch at least one female as long as you're there so you can breed it is an even better idea). If you do manage to catch Feebas before shattering your GBA screen in frustration, you'll find you're only halfway home. Unless you feel like battling with a decrepit brown fish with atrocious stats for all eternity, you still have to worry about evolving the stupid thing. In order to do this you'll have to get Feebas' Beauty rating to 170, which is fairly close to the max. To raise a Pokemon's Beauty rating you must feed it Blue or Indigo Pokeblocks. I will say that Feebas with Impish, Careful or Adamant natures are exceedingly difficult to evolve because they detest Dry Pokeblocks (under which category the Blue and Indigo Pokeblocks fall). Okay, since at this point I'm just babbling incoherently about something I know next to nothing about, I'll just finish by saying if you do indeed manage to get Feebas' Beauty rating high enough it will evolve the next time it levels up, regardless of what level it's currently at.

oh i do know what i'm talking about Stinger. i have read every nook and kranny on Ru/Sa. i know what to do to find Feebas.

Stinger - October 22, 2003 09:20 PM (GMT)
first off you spelt it feeble, and second, where the hell in an official guide did you get 1,000,000,000 to 1?

i dont think she meant that seriously. ever heard of the literary technique, "hyperbole"? hI-PER-boh-lee....

Stinger - October 23, 2003 12:51 AM (GMT)
A figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect, as in I could sleep for a year or This book weighs a ton.

don't get yourself hurt. uh no. it was a spelling error.
Feebas is quite feeble so it isn't a form of exaggeration at all.

Ralts isn't really hard to train, but it is your decision. hm, an Electric type? Manetric is the best one in the game. sorry to tell you but Chansey isn't in the game...

no way he isn't.

You don't need to worry about an electric if you have a lanturn in your party

2legendary4u - October 24, 2003 01:30 AM (GMT)
but you can't get a Chinchou and evolve it till later... so start with a Electrike or its evolved form Manetric for now.

Apple - October 24, 2003 01:57 AM (GMT)
don't waste your time with a pokemon you're gonna end up throwing away in the end. Get a Lanturn
