The night was balmy and soothing, unusually cool for late summer. The moon shone high above, full and white and round.

A slight breeze set waves a-washing and the boats along the shore rocked gently as the tide came in.

It was perfect.

Lithe bodies crept along the shore as the sound of singing, soft and sensual, drifted in the air.

Teeth glinted in the soft light as a hundred mouths smiled together.

Everything had come together according to plan. The calming, disarming weather and the perfect distraction... For the moment the world was calm, but a storm was brewing on the horizon.

No natural storm, this, but one of teeth and claws and knives. Gilbert grinned. Vengeance would be theirs.
