A/N: This kind of goes against my Cats ff viewpoints entirely, but I had it and decided to use it anyways. So, yeah...

I’ve yet to learn why she was born golden. As if she weren’t perfect enough already, and yet the Everlasting Cat feels it’s not enough. He needs to add a glowing, glittering, shining beacon of light for all to look to and follow! And now Munkustrap, that infallible protector of ours, who can resist the gravest of dangers, has fallen under the trance that that perfect golden coat throws on everyone.

Of course he would pay no attention to the scarlet queen, who blazes like a fire signal, begging for help, or attention, or, or, something! Of course, everyone thinks she’s already fallen for the one with the mane and the giant ego that comes with it. They all think, oh, she loves him, why would she mind the hundreds of times that he’d rejected her? Didn’t they realize that the tom she has supposedly ‘fallen for’ was the very reason she sought solace in their beloved protector?

But no. He was already the silver moon in orbit around that blazing, golden sun.
