I'm leaving in... two hours for Anime Central (a geeky convention near Chicago, IL). I'll be there through sometime on Sunday, and probably won't have internet access for the duration. LOL, Alex, I'm not that into anime either... I'm more of a gamer myself, and I go to the convention mostly for the costuming. I attended exactly one anime-based discussion panel, and spent the rest of my time running around in various costumes (I brought five with me this year) and shopping. There were some rocky moments, but overall I had a good time. There were quite a lot of fun and hilarious bits to make up for the bad ones. ^_^
And with ACen out of the way, I don't have another "big" event until October, when Geek.Kon rolls around, so I should be able to keep this contest on schedule for a while.
Well that's good you had fun! I've actually never been to any sort of convention... but I've seen pictures and I think it's awesome that everyone gets all dressed up and everything.
I agree, they look like a lot of fun! I've also never attended one.
