There are not enough love emoticons in the world to describe the awesomeness that is this movie.
I'm a huge fan of Sarah Brightman, and after hearing she'd be in it (as a character that shares a name with one of my favorite video-game items of all time: Mag)... I had to buy this movie. I finally found a copy yesterday, and have been fangirling off and on ever since I finished watching it.
Anybody else seen it?
Aural Vampire - February 2, 2009 04:00 AM (GMT)
XD I was just watching it.
I love Mag a lot. She looks absolutely amazing. *_*

Oh man, I've been listening to the soundtrack all the time. Wish I had the money to get the movie myself. >_<
Rubidia - February 2, 2009 12:02 PM (GMT)
I feel so out of the loop! Now I'll just have to see it! I can feel the starts of a new obsession coming on... :)
Cassandra - February 2, 2009 01:59 PM (GMT)
It's both extremely bloody and utterly bizarre, but so cool. I do recommend it if you like strangeness and rock opera, and aren't turned off by gratuitous bloodshed (to offer a hint, it was directed by the man responsible for Saw II-IV).
Rubidia - February 3, 2009 12:08 PM (GMT)
It sounds really neat! I think I could get past the blood! ^_^
Aural Vampire - February 6, 2009 12:44 AM (GMT)
T_T I cannot find the soundtrack for this movie and it is driving me nuts. So I listen to it on imeem and youtube instead.
Rubidia - February 6, 2009 01:35 AM (GMT)
Ahh, that's where the problem would lie for me. My computer is so slow! I can barely watch video clips at all. It's basically like watching one tiny little movement every five mintutes.
Aural Vampire - February 6, 2009 02:12 AM (GMT)
Well, you can get the movie itself at just about any place that sells movies that's a decent size. I found it for $15 at the first Best Buy I went to. But according to their websites, it's also stocked at FYE, Walmart, Target, and Hot Topic.
I just would like to actually own the soundtrack too. XD
Rubidia - February 6, 2009 12:03 PM (GMT)
Oh, cool. I'll have to keep my eye out for that!
Rubidia - March 7, 2009 04:01 PM (GMT)
Now I really have no excuse not to have heard music from this! My family just got DSL, and I am enthralled with how fast everything is! I can watch movies on youtube now! Yay! Okay, speaking of which, I'm off to search for some of the music from this!
Rubidia - March 7, 2009 04:05 PM (GMT)
Okay, I just watched the trailor. It looks really good, I'll have to hear some of the actual music! I just hope I have the stomach for the horror stuff...
Alex0821 - March 7, 2009 05:05 PM (GMT)
Isn't this that movie with Paris Hilton? XD
Cassandra - March 8, 2009 12:27 AM (GMT)
Yes.
More importantly:
It has Sarah Brightman in it.
Also, Paris Hilton is amazingly not bad in it. *boggles*
Alex0821 - March 8, 2009 03:24 AM (GMT)
I've actually been impressed by Paris Hilton in the past: her acting wasn't terrible at all in the "House of Wax" remake... which I guess is something?
I was going to watch Repo on watch-movies.net, but I think the site was taken down for its extraordinarily blatant copyright violations. Now I don't know where to go to see movies for free =( *is cheap*
Aural Vampire - March 8, 2009 03:48 PM (GMT)
Hm, I'd say just watch clips on youtube and if you like the look of it buy it. Repo is worth owning, in my opinion.
XD I bought it solely on the basis that Sarah Brightman was in it and Yoshiki* was one of the producers. I knew almost nothing about it except that it was a musical/opera.
*Yoshiki was the drummer/pianist for a Japanese band that I love called X Japan.
Alex0821 - March 8, 2009 07:07 PM (GMT)
Ooh, do you know a lot about Japanese music? Utada Hikaru is my favorite singer ever! She's coming out with a new English album this month and I'm going crazy!!! /obsessive rant
I remember seeing the trailer for it and thinking it looked really good, so I'll check it out on YouTube and maybe rent it if I can find it at a Blockbuster or something.
Aural Vampire - March 8, 2009 07:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah, you could say I'm a big Japanese music fan. I'm mostly into Visual Kei and electronica, though. And honestly, I don't care much for Utada Hikaru. =/ Just my personal preference. The only Japanese "pop" singer that I really like is Ayumi Hamasaki.
Alex0821 - March 8, 2009 09:59 PM (GMT)
Ayumi and Utada are very different, so I could definitely see liking one but not the other. I personally don't like Ayumi too much because I think her voice is a little too "rough around the edges" for me, and I like Utada's melodies a bit more. But that's just me =) I think it's stupid how some people think Utada and Ayumi have like this massive grudge against one another, like only one can be the so-called Queen of J-Pop or something. It's very odd XD I say, to each their own!!
Aural Vampire - March 9, 2009 12:01 AM (GMT)
Yes, exactly! I hate the band-wars that sometimes seem to go on with fans of Japanese music. Personally, I think as long as we all like MUSIC it doesn't matter which exact band or musician one person thinks is better over another.
Cassandra - March 9, 2009 12:24 AM (GMT)
 The "rough around the edges" sound is actually why I prefer Ayumi. Well, that and songs like Voyage, Real Me, and Inspire... I haven't found a song by Utada yet that I can really get into, but I imagine there's a possibility that I could, if I bothered more with Japanese music.
Rubidia - March 9, 2009 01:13 AM (GMT)
Erg, out of the loop again! :) I'm not familiar with any japanese music, aside from a few traditional choir-esque songs. Actually, only one. It's about snow! *sighs in a sarcastically romantic way*.
Cassandra - March 9, 2009 01:19 AM (GMT)
Ah, don't feel bad. I feel nerdy enough when I'm at home, but when I go to conventions and hang out with other J-culture fans, I realize just how much they tend to out-nerd me... And you're not really missing out on much - Japanese pop music is much like American pop music, despite what the more rabid fans might say...
Alex0821 - March 9, 2009 02:24 AM (GMT)
I watched some clips of Repo! on YouTube, particularly Night Surgeon (I think that's what it was called) and some deleted Paris scene (try out my new parts, or something like that). Very interesting, I may end up renting it to watch the whole thing.

It's when you get into the underground rock and electronica stuff that you find the truly bizarre stuff that you can't find in America... :ph43r:
