Title: What do you listen to when you write?

Do you find it easier to write if you listen to a soundtrack? Other music? TV garbage as background noise?

XD Just a general question. I'm bored, what can I say?

Usually, tv garbage as background noise. That's if I can get my computer set up within hearing range of a cable tv. :P

Otherwise it's often whatever strikes my fancy (and then usually the same song on repeat for hours)... which lately seems to be a lot of Sarah Brightman and Schwarz Stein and Phantasmagoria, but also includes soundtracks and things like Gackt, Nightwish, t.A.T.u., or a variety of "ethnic" music from cds I have. Sunyata's flamenco funk is always a win in my book, but sometimes I'll listen to something Celtic or Japanese, or something like Enya. (Wow, my taste in music sounds so... mellow... )

It really depends on the mood of what I'm writing. A lot of my fics are actually based on songs, though I like to think I hide it better than most songfic authors. :ph43r:

Edited to add: I forgot Phantasmagoria! I'm a terrible fan! Woe!

I always thought I was kind of odd for doing those things. XD I tend to get fixated on one song and drive all my roommates up the wall listening to it.

<_< And yes, you are a bad Phantasmagoria fan, forgetting about them like that.
