First and foremost, please thoroughly read the
Community Rules.
INFORMATIONFor the purposes of this community, a "drabble" is a short story of between 75 and 250 words in length. Stories may be of any genre and include any characters from any version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical
Cats. Once the theme has been posted, authors will have 10 days in which to write and post their contest entries. Winning drabbles will be awarded a banner or icon, as well as the pride of a job well done.
SAMPLE CALENDARWeek 1:
Monday - Theme is posted; members may begin posting drabbles.
Week 2:
Thursday - Last day to post your drabbles.
Friday - Voting begins.
Sunday - Voting closes at 11:59pm CST.
VOTINGYou
do not have to be a writer or have written a contest entry to vote. The only requirement is that you have an account on this forum.
Votes should be sent via
private message to
Cassandra. This is for several reasons, the first of which is the preservation of anonymity. Secondly, we have weighted voting (for weeks with five or more entries). On these occasions, your pm will include the names of three stories, ranked first, second, and third. Your vote will then be weighted as follows:
Weighting:
1st Place = 3 points
2nd Place = 2 points
3rd Place = 1 points
Say Drabble A gets 4 1st places, 2 2nd places and 1 3rd place votes -17 points
Say Drabble B gets 3 1st places, 3 2nd places and 1 3rd – 16 points
Drabble C gets 2 1st places and 2 2nd places and 3 3rd places– 13 points.
This weighting helps eliminate the chances of ties.
Note: If we have four stories or fewer, a voting poll will be posted on the forum, in which case you will vote in the poll for the story you thought should win first place. In weeks with four or fewer entries, only first place will be awarded.
BOARD SPECIFICSPlease keep signature sizes reasonable (ie. images must be no more than 400 pixels in width and no more than 150 pixels in height).
Avatars are allowed, and may be up to 100 pixels on a side.
MODERATORSWe currently do not have any moderators aside from
