Title: GAME: Trivial Pursuit
Description: of the internet variety
miztreated - April 28, 2005 12:53 PM (GMT)
Now, everyone knows how Trivial Pursuit works right?
Basically you get asked a question, based on knowledge, like "Which country is the largest exporter of sugar?" , and you answer if you know the answer!
(For the record, I don't know who exports the most sugar, I suggest we keep it a bit easier than that ^^)
The question can be based in any field of study, whether it be entertainment, geography, history, politics, whatever! Just keep in mind the average age of the forum, and the cultural differences when thinking of a question. ^^
The only rule: If you think the question is a bit specialised in one particular area, then give some sort of a hint, to keep the ball rolling, so to speak.
I'll start:
By which persona is Dwayne Johnson also known?

Ok.. WHAT?!?
I don't know what you mean with "according to the economer" but Luxembourg is kinda like the Mekka for banking and such, right? It's the richest country in the world. An (totally loaded! -_- ) aquiantance of mine lives there and he can never praise Luxembourg enough. Low inflation, and low unemployment and relatively low salary deductions. BNP (= GDP?? I don't know the English word for it) of €41.230 p/p was the last time I checked.
Sadhbh - April 28, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
I do have to say it is Ireland it is to do with amount of money and standard of living.
JCF.dutches - April 28, 2005 09:56 PM (GMT)
Really? I only know about Ireland from history lessons so you understand my astonishment.

I´m not sure about the question; if it meant which language most of the people speak, or which language most of the people speak as their mother tongue. I guess that the language people speak the most is English.
The language people speak most as their mother tongue, is Russian (checked this one! :D )

The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the USA from which country and when?
Lloydsgurl - June 18, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
We got it from France in 1885. It was dedicated in 1886.
btw, am I the only one who thinks there should be a movie about Marquis de Lafayette? A movie about a Frenchman who played an important role in US history, then turned around and tried to change things in France. It could work.
I'm taking this from an acutal Trivial Pursuit game card:
QUOTE
What direction is the Leaning Tower of Pisa leaning in? North, South, East, or West?

I wouldn't mind seeing that movie, if they did one. But somehow, I don't think they will. The French won't, I don't think he's actually seen as a hero in their history. And I don't think the Americans will either because he wasn't EXCITING AND HEROIC AND OMG BLOCKBUSTER PERFECTION!
I'm having a crisis of faith in Wikipedia. It doesn't say in what direction the Tower of Pisa is leaning in. *gasps*
But I got this off Google:
QUOTE
Direction of Lean: 1173-1250 North, 1272-1997 South
So basically, it DID lean North, but now it leans South?
