Episode 9.2: Shifting Sands
Airdate: Fall 2003

08/04 - PO Christine La Porte was reported MIA during the Gulf War. Years later, she is captured and will be brought back to the US under Article 32 - Desertion. Her father, Adm La Porte, meets with Chegwidden and Roberts. He learns that Roberts will be prosecuting his daughter and that Mac will be defending. Mac has a chat with the Adm on why he decided to support the desertion charges against his daughter. She also mentions that there are reports that his daughter's Bedouin tribe was spying for Saddam; if Christine is involved, she could be considered as a traitor and risk execution. Adm La Porte doesn't believe his daughter could be involved. Mac accidentally leaks to Roberts the classified information on the report on the Bedouin tribe. Adm La Porte is mad at her, accusing her of having done it on purpose so the prosecution could win. Adm Chegwidden questions Mac about the status of the office as everything seems to be going wrong: Rabb diving off the deep end, Mac making mistakes, Turner sleep waling through a defense... Rabb is being offered, for the third time, the chance to become a CIA agent; it looks like he will accept the offer. Navy Cmdr Nicholas Gilfry from episode "Jagathon" makes an appearance. Coates and Harriet also appear in the episode. Source: Izzy
