Do you enjoy listening to feigned hiccups as much the real deal?
I am content to settle with the fake ones, I suppose. Better than nothing. But there is just something about *geniune* hiccups that really surpasses the simulated ones. : )
i kinda agree that simulations don't reaally measure up, but can still b pretty thrilling as theyre so exhibitionist, wudnt u say? have u seen the movie "gone with the wind"? well, its only a short scene but in my opinion worth splashing out for as vivien leigh who plays scarlett is prolly the most exquisite creature ever to grace the big screen!
the scene in question is he 1 where its franks funeral & scarlett is necking her weight in brandy. on seeing rhetts carriage pull up outside, she exclaims, "great balls of fire-HIC!" thats it for a couple of mins, but as shes about to leave the room, she stops, raises a hand to her sternum as if to suppress an iminent one, and an identical one occurs!
i wonder how long vivien leigh spent rehearsing that scene, wot directions she got on it, whether she hiccuped often in real life & sounded like that - those simulations were v. lifelike!
wot i also found captivating was how she seemed to predict the second one - ive nevber witnessed that in real life, but wud very much like to, as that sort of anticipation takes some acknowledgement of ones affliction. does anyone else find this equally sexy?
