Title: Study Time
Description: For Corbin but OPEN TO ALL
Sofie Vogeldorf - August 19, 2005 02:20 PM (GMT)
Sofie was sitting at a table quietly taking notes from a book that she'd gotten on potions. She was doing this for a potions essay that was set to her for being tardy to class three days in a row. Not very fun. She hadn't meant to be late, but getting from the Ravnclaw tower to the Potion dungeons is not that easy.
She was skimming throgh the book, however, barely reading the pages. She was lost in thought over Joe, and how she might have ruined their friendship the night they were in the forest. She hadn't meant to kiss his cheek, she just did. She really didn't want things to go sour between them. However, she really liked him.. a lot. She just couldn't get him out of her mind on most days. Her school work was suffering a little, and well it just didn't work out all that well.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice the other person sit down infront of her.
Corbin Marahawk - August 19, 2005 02:59 PM (GMT)
Time to take the book back he thought.. Corbin had managed the take a potions book out of the restricted section just a couple of weeks ago. It seemed weird that they didn’t notice a important book missing. Maybe the Librarian was slacking off. Entering the Library he saw Sofie sat on a table. Alone..
It seemed weird that she wasn’t with Joe, as when he saw her she always was. He pulled out a chair and sat down beside her, looking at what she was doing. Without her looking up he thought that she might have still been angry with him, but he didn’t come and sit next to her for a fight.
He liked the way she stuck up for herself the other day, it made Corbin look at her in a different way. Like she didn’t depend on Joe for 'sticking up for her' that she could defend herself. He looked up to her for that. Not many people did at Hogwarts.
Breaking the silence he spoke, and greeted her kindly.
"Hello.."
He spoke to her, lifting his head up from the table on to her.
"Look.." He began, smiling ..." Before you say anything will you please hear me out?" Corbin had placed his finger over her mouth, enabling her to speak. Taking it off again he allowed her to speak, to see if she would listen to him

Sofie was still completely lost in thought. So when she heard someone say her name she jumped.
As she looked up she was saying "Oh my Merlin, you star..." She stopped in mid sentence when she saw who it was. Her eyes narrowed a little. The nerve of him coming up here. Who did he think he was. He'd obviously forgotten what he'd done to her the other day.
"Wha.." She began but was silenced when Corbin brought is finger up to her mouth, in a 'shh' motion. Taken by surprise she quickly stopped talking. Then listend, and watched as Corbin spoke, smiling. She didn't know what to make of it, either he was here to torture her more, or.. well she didn't know what he was here for.
"Look, before you say anything, will you please hear me out?" He asked her looking rather sincere. For this reason, she wanted to allow him to, however she was still cautious. He removed his finger from her lips.
"Sure, go ahead, but make it quick I don't know if I can stand to sit here much longer with you at the moment." She tried to say in a cold icy tone that Joe usually has, but it came out sounding more hurt than anything.

"Sure, go ahead, but make it quick I don't know if I can stand to sit here much longer with you at the moment."
He sighed at her comment. He voice sounded like Joe's it made him wince, and wish he had never thought of his name.
"Anyway...”
He put emphasis on his sighing to show Sofie that it bothered him.
"The thing is... You remember the trip to Diagon ally don’t you? All the way there Joe was constantly making me out to be 'not trustworthy' and at the end of the trip I couldn’t bare to be around him...H-he well he wouldn’t believe me, and you did. You believed in me. You are always around Joe, and I couldn’t bare him near you. As much as I wanted to be around you..."
He coughed, looking back into her eyes, from down by the table.
"I wouldn’t want to hurt you, what had you ever done to me?" He asked her, hoping that she would understand that it wasn’t her that he was trying to get away from. It wasn’t that Joe seemed to be a threat, but he just wasn’t up to Corbin’s standards. He kept going on about getting into trouble.
Where Corbin wouldn’t care what happened to him, well to some extent he would. But he wouldn’t be scared to do anything like that.

She could obviously tell that her tone had bothered him. However, at the moment she didn't care, she was still furious with him. Then he went on to explain.
She thought about his words as he was saying them, and then he said something that caused her heart to jump into her throat. She didn't know if she'd heard him correctly, but he couldn't stand to have Joe around her? He wanted to spend time with her?
She sat for a moment in silence tossing his words around in her head trying to figure out what they meant. She couldn't put it together. Just the other day, Corbin was telling her to leave, that they couldn't do the potion together. Now today he was telling her it was because of Joe, that he actually wanted Sofie there, but could't because he couldn't stand Joe around Sofie?
"What exactly are you saying?" she asked, in a voice that sounded confused. "I mean I know you and Joe aren't the best of friends, but where do I fit into this equation?"

"I mean I know you and Joe aren't the best of friends, but where do I fit into this equation?"
"Well, your right there.."
He muttered under his breath.
"Exactly... If its you, then its Joe as well. That’s what I don’t want. A tag along."
He told her, hoping that she would understand. Corbin wanted to spend time with her, but not with Joe, as he knew his friendship with him wasn’t even a friendship to begin with.
"Well, I thought that there was something between us. I could feel that you trusted me, even a little. But with Joe there’s another story."
He frowned.
"There isn’t much hope for our friendship with him. I'm not asking you not to se him; I just want to know if you would leave him for two seconds." Corbin went on, hoping not to sound too straight forward.
"I don’t know if you want to be around me...But its up to you." He looked back down, giving her a chance to speak.

Sofie let the words sink in. He wanted to be her friend, but didn't want Joe tagging along. She could do that, she didn't spend her every waking moment with Joe. Even though he was in her head most the time, didn't mean he was always there physically.
She'd wanted to become friends with corbin since the beginning. Now that she knew it was Joe that was keeping Corbin from acting like he should around a friend, because obviously he was treating her quite nicely at the moment, she couldn't be made at him anymore and feel like he had betrayed her. Sometimes friends have to do stuff like that.
Sofie let a smile slowly slink across her face and she put her hand on Corbin's to let him know that she really was forgiving and forgetting, "Well, you don't see Joe here now do you?" She indicated around the room.

"Well, you don't see Joe here now do you?"
He smiled, looking around the room he noticed Sofies hands were on his. But he had a girlfriend.. yet he didn’t feel aware of this, at that particular time. He looked at Sofie and smiled. She thought that they should spend just as much time with each other, than she did with Joe.
He looked into her eyes and thought about Joe, and he knew about how much she adored him. But did he like her? As he was looking at her he felt a strange feeling, he was friends with her, but was he falling for her, like he did Felicia?
Corbin and Felicia's love was pure and he knew that he would love her till the day he died. But he felt something for Sofie, yet. He didn’t know what that was.
Sofie Vogeldorf - August 27, 2005 12:30 AM (GMT)
Sofie smiled when he looked at her. He seemed to be looking into her eyes to see past her eyes and into her heart or something of the sort like he was reading her.
She didn't know what it was, but at that moment her stomach gave a lurch, the same kind that she gets around Joe, just not as strong as it is with Joe.
"What do you say we get out of this Library" She said smiling still, wanting to be more alone with him then in the middle of a crowded Library "How about we go for a walk or something?"
She studied his face, she found that she was slightly attracked to him, though she wasn't sure if it was as deep as it was with Joe. She just knew that she was enjoying his company. Like she did from the time they were in Diagon Alley together. She got up and took her hand from his and picked up her bag and stood next to Corbin. "Shall we go?" she asked him with a warm smile.
Corbin Marahawk - August 27, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
"Yeah.." he blurted out quickly. "Why not.." He finished he sentence off casually. Corbin looked at Sofie and his eyes narrowed. He could feel something, something that Sofie knew that Corbin didn’t. He could tell that Sofie was attracted to him, but knew that she liked Joe. His empathic powers were kicking in again.
He smiled, knowing about her "secret" but not making it too obvious. He knew that she kind of liked both him and Joe, but didn’t have enough information to carry this up. He liked her, and wanted to spend more time with her, but didn’t like knowing stuff, and she not knowing about it.
This was the hard part about his powers.
"Let’s go!"
He stood up picking up his belongings also. "Where to?" He smiled, taking her hand, as a sign of 'togetherness' laughing as they walked off together.
