Physical Description: Mel is a very small, petite young woman, standing at only 5'0" and weighing about 95 lbs. Her hair is short, going only just above her shoulders with thick bangs. It's a deep black raven color with a bit of dark red highlights, which goes well with her dark brown eyes and tan skin-tone, which she gets from her Asian ethnicity.

Taking after her mother, she makes and designs almost all of her clothes. They greatly match her personality, too; bright, unique, zaney, exciting. Different kinds of shirts are her specialty, so you'll usually see her in a different one everyday of the month; she has at least 100 of her own designs.

Personality

Personality: To sum up Mel's personality in one word would be 'unique'. She likes to take a step back in everything she does, and figure out a way to do it in her own unique, creative way. She doesn't like to be the same as everyone else, so she makes a point to be different.

Getting to know Melanie is either easy, hard, or impossible. Some people get turned off by her outgoing, zaney personality, but for others, it's a good trait to be had. She loves making new friends, and when she does, she makes sure to stand by them and be there when they need her.

With friends, Mel enjoys just hanging out and doing nothing, shopping (shoes especially), partying, swimming, and taking long walks, for the most part. Besides hanging out with her friends, she enjoys working on her fashion designs, making them come to life, drawing, running, swimming, dancing, and singing.

She's really not a big reader, but enjoys a good book when it's presented to her and she has the time. It all depends if it interests her, because she has a very short attention span on certain things.
Relationships and Social Skills: Mel is a very outgoing person, so social skills aren't a problem for her. She has the gift of just walking up to someone and introducing herself, or dancing down the middle of the street for no reason... She loves to express herself in different ways, even if it means making a fool out of herself, which also doesn't usually bother her.

Relationships have been a rarity for Melanie lately. She recently got out of a one year relationship, and has decided that just friends are good for now. She can't say she's afraid to get hurt again, since she was the one who ended the relationship with her old boyfriend, Dominique, but she just doesn't want to be let down again.
Weaknesses: Despite Mel's exciting, zaney personality, she has many weaknessess. One, in particular being the dissapointment of getting turned down. Mel is a very confident person in everything she does, so to be told she's not good enough, or doesn't have what it takes really brings down her spirits and self-confidence. However, she still has to realize that she can't be great at everything and get everything she wants, so a little shoe shopping usually helps.

Another weakness is a cute boy, usually with some adorable shaggy hair. She doesn't know what it is, but something about the sight of one makes her go weak in the knees. Of course, this isn't a serious weakness, but certaintly brings down her concentration level more than not.
Strengths: Creativity, confidence, and uniqueness. Melanie knows how to get something done, and always takes a new, creative level on it. Succeding is just one part of it, but when what she has done does make a difference, her confidence is raised even more. Sometimes she can get a bit cocky, but for the most part, she tries to keep level-headed.

Mel is also very outgoing, which helps her make new friends, start relationships, and get jobs. She doesn't have a problem speaking her mind, or taking on a new, difficult task, even if it means no proper food or sleep for a while.

Past, Present, and Future

History: Melanie was born in Beverly Hills, California on July 2nd, 1989 to her parents, Eduardo and Jia Khul. Her parents were still very young when the wed and had children, though they never regret it.

Along with Melanie, two more little babies popped out on that July 2nd day, making identical triplets. Leonardo and Adriana were born before Melanie, which makes sense considering Mel is the most immature of the three.

Ever since she could think and crawl for herself, Mel always tried to do things for herself. She liked being an independent individual, and didn't like being cast as a 'triplet' instead of her own person. She often stayed away from Leo and Adriana, wanting to grow up a unique person of her own, and not cast as a dependent triplet.

At the age of 11, Mel and her siblings began picking out schools to go to. Her parents wanted Mel to go to Callistus Academy for Witches along with Adriana, but Mel refused, and even ran away when they forced her to go to the Orientation. Her parents only wanted what was best for their children, but Mel wanted to be seperated from her triplets, and picked out a small school in Los Angeles, California.

Melanie attended Liman's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Los Angeles until she finished her fifth year. Liman's was never a great school to begin with, but that was where Mel had chosen to go. However, when her parents found out the kind of Professors teaching there, they gave her a choice of either Callistus Academy for Witches, or Hogwarts. Of course, they expected her to pick Callistus, but she chose Hogwarts; the farther away from Leo and Adriana, the better.

Here and Now: Now just starting up her sixth year, Mel is just being her same old self; independent, weird, and unique... and away from her siblings, which she is quite glad about.

She's hoping to learn to Apparate, hopefully get enough studying in for her N.E.W.Ts next year, and make a few (hopefully long-term) friends.

Long-term Outlook: Melanie wishes to follow in her mothers footsteps and become a fashion designer, open up her own shop, and make the world (or at least Beverly Hills) better dressed. There's no telling if she'll ever get into a long term relationship, start a family, or actually achieve her dreams, but she can only wish for the best.

Reason: Although Melanie likes to be an individual and unique from her triplet siblings, she doesn't know what she'd do without them. They give great advice, are always great conversationists, and know how to make Mel smile. Melanie asked herself, taking her first steps through the large gates of the castle, and into the main hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Everything was so foreign here in England; the people, the language, the food.. even the aptmosphere itself had a foreign air to it. It fascinated Mel, and made her even happier that she had decided on Hogwarts, opposed to Callistus Academy for Witches. Now more than ever did she despise even the idea of going to an all girls', pompous, private Academy.

With a growing smile on her face, Mel tugged her lavendar coloured purse over her shoulder, and continued into the castle, her heels clinking subtly on the gleaming marble floors. She made sure to walk slowly; she wanted to take in the view, scent, design, and general feel of the castle's entrance hall before she headed to the Headmistresses office for her appointment.

Taking out the map given to her previously in the mail, she opened it up and found Prof. Breena Brightheart's office.

"Alright.. If I'm here, then I just have to go..." Mel traced her finger from where she was, to the Professor's office. "...here. Seems simple enough." She smiled to herself, looked back up from her map, and continued on to her destination.
