Title: Signature Image Warning
Description: Better check yours!
Prof. Breena Brightheart - August 2, 2005 08:20 PM (GMT)
This is your only warning.
If your signature image image is more than 130 pixels tall, it is considered over the maximum allowable limit. If your signature is more than 400 pixels wide, it is considered over the maximum allowable limit.
If you do not resize your image in the next 7 days, I will remove it, and replace it with something you would probably rather not to have there. So I would suggest to everyone that you check yours to see if you're breaking this rule.
7 days. That's all you're going to get.

Quick question: if one's signature contains multiple images which total more than 130 pixels vertically or 400 pixels horizontally, will that also count as a violation?
In other words, are we allowed a maximum of 130x400 image space in our signatures, or is it a maximum of 130x400 per image?
(Either way, I think I have some editing to do!)

And is there a maximum file size?
Prof. Breena Brightheart - August 2, 2005 11:12 PM (GMT)
Good question, ladies.
Alyson - You may only have 1 personalized signature image. This would be like my signature image, which was made specifically for Breena to act as my sign-off on all posts.
However if you receive an image from an HPU admin or moderator for something that is specific to the site (such as our award images, Quiddy images, TWT images, the Smarty Pants images, etc.), then you're obviously given permission to ADD them to your signature. However, you may not arrange them in a way that makes them stretch the tables at lower screen resolutions, and should have as little space as possible between them.
But to make things neat and tidy, I'll say a max of 3: That's 1 personalized signature image, plus 2 HPU-specific images (again, given by an admin or mod).
For those responsible for making HPU-specific images, please do not make them any larger than 250 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall.
Dracona - I would say less than 150kb. That's about what my animated signature was before, and it didn't take very long to download even on my 56K connection. I remember a few people had animated siggys from some ID shop place once upon a time that were upwards of 250-something and it made the pages load sooo sloooow.
So yeah, I would say 150kb max. And honestly, the only time you're going to see one that big in file size is if it's animated.

Is this siggy an okay size? *points to signature*

If you want to know how big your signature is, all you hav eto do is right click on it, go to properties, and it will say 'Dimentions'
The first number is the width of the image, the second number is the height. You can all check them yourselves ^.^
So yeah...,
1) Right click with your mouse on the image
2) Left click on properties
3) Check size of your image under dimentions
It should read no more than 400x130 if you want it to stay.
And sorry if I'm butting in BreeBree, just thought I would help ya out here ^.^

Okay thanks for that.
And it's exactly 400 x 130 Yay!
