Character Name: Glenda Catchlove
Blood Type: Pure Blood, Pure-Blooded Wizard Father, Pure-Blooded Squib Mother
Gender: Female
Age/Year: 15, 5th Year
Family Information: Semele Carrows was a great disappointment to her family, as she turned out to be one of the few Squibs in the wizarding world. She was scorned by her family, which took much pride in its pureblood relations and strong wizards. However, one day, George Catchlove was sent by the Ministry to break a curse on a dark magic item in the Carrows fortune. However, while he was there, he fell in love with Semele. They immediately ran away together, getting away from Semele’s repressive family. They first traveled many places, in fear of Semele’s family finding them. However, it soon became clear that the Carrows had no intention of finding their Squib daughter.
Semele had one child, Gerald, once they settled down in York, England. However, Semele’s taste of adventure and travel was sparked, as she had been confined to the house before. Now she urged her husband to take her traveling, and so they traveled, once their son was three, and prepared for it.
Semele became pregnant as they traveled, and went into labor while they were visiting the 58-letter city. And so, Glenda was born. Once she was born, her mother seemed to have satisfied her need to see the world. They went back to their home to raise their children.
Semele taught her children a world of magic, and enchantment, while her husband worked. Though she could not do magic herself, there were plenty of magic items around the house. She raised them to be creative and imaginative, thinking beyond the normal boundaries of life. She taught them to think in unusual and original ways.
When Gerald turned eleven, it was a great disappointment when he did not receive a letter to attend Hogwarts, and he showed no magic ability. Semele fell into a depression, feeling that it was her fault that their firstborn son was non-magical. Glenda was sad at the loss of her happy, loving mother, as she was now distant and detached. However, she did not know why her mother was so saddened by her brother’s lack of magical ability. Semele did not have magic, and she had been perfectly happy.
However, when the letter came for Glenda, there was great surprise. It seemed that only her father was happy for her. Her mother remained distant, as if not fully comprehending that her daughter had magic, and continued muttering how it was her fault her children were a failure. Her brother was terribly jealous, and nasty towards her afterwards. Glenda’s father seemed to dislike her new mother, as well. He worked later and later into the night, once Glenda started Hogwarts, and rarely came home.

Physical Description:
Glenda: She is a dark brown-haired witch, with thick curls, which reach to her shoulders. She has rather dark brown eyes that sometimes come across as black. She is rather tall, at about five feet and eight inches, as well as skinny, with very few curves. She isn’t the prettiest girl, however, her face does have some charm, despite its thin and narrow appearance. Her nose is slightly pointed, and her lips are a bit thin, and pale. She is slightly tanned, as she enjoys sitting outside in the sun. She is rather self-conscious of her appearance, though it does not seem like it, because of her unusual fashion sense, which probably comes from her mother. Her mother wore a very strange assortment of clothing, and seemed natural to Glenda to do the same.
She cannot be described as pretty, or beautiful. She has an oddly happy appearance about her face. Her lips are often quirked upwards in a faint smile most of the time. However, she is rather average, except that her odd choice in clothing often makes her stick out, despite the uniform.
Fuzzy: Fuzzy is the typical cream color of Puffskeins. He was given to her for getting accepted into Hogwarts by her father. He is about the size of a tennis ball, and has fur texture similar to a rabbit’s. His tongue is long, pink, and slimy. Glenda often keeps him in her school bag, with her books, and carries him around. Sometimes she will pet him in class, and feed him food she slips into her bag during mealtimes, and on the common occasion when she forgets about him, he somehow manages to survive on whatever he happens to eat at night, when she lets him loose in her dorm room. Fuzzy is also the very same puffskein that supplied the hair for her wand. He was bought shortly after her wand, simply because Glenda wanted to “match.”

Personality
Personality: Glenda is a rather happy-go-lucky girl. She seems to always have a smile on her face. She had a rather bubbly personality. She is very attached to her friends and loved ones, and can often be rather clingy. She is imaginative and a dreamer. She often comes up with odd ideas, or questions. She is a funny person to be around, and she is rather intelligent. However, she not very confident with her wand-work, as she fears that her Squib heritage might hinder her magic ability. Sometimes she is taunted about her Squib mother and brother, and it reveals that she cries rather easily. She often does not show if she is angry or sad, as she dislikes those feelings and keeps them tucked away in the back of her mind. However, sometimes she will just go to her dorm to cry in some study periods, when she is feeling especially badly. Most of the time, her causes for crying are from not doing well in class.
She is rather determined to become a good witch, and try to make her mother proud. She studies very hard, though she is still not the best. However, she is attempting to make something of herself. She wants to be well known all around the wizarding world, however, her magical abilities are far from superior. She is average at best.
Relationships and Social Skills: Glenda is a rather charismatic girl. She is sometimes overly friendly, and can be found annoying. However, she is very easily offended. She does not show it, though, as she has an aversion to confrontation and debating or fighting. She would rather settle with agreeing with the opposing party than argue it out. Because of this, she is often saddled with doing things she dislikes.
Weaknesses: Glenda is not confident to practice spells in public, as she gets easily nervous that she wouldn’t have enough magic to work the spell correctly.
Glenda is rather absent minded, and sometimes hurries to scribble out the last four inches of her essay, which she had forgotten was due. She is actually rather cowardly. She would prefer to go certain places with other people, and often asks people to accompany her places instead of going alone. She can be said to be rather dependant on others.
She is also rather naïve. Or so she appears. She actually has quite a grasp of what someone may be talking about, but she feigns naivety, so she wouldn’t have to answer, or be put in a compromising situation. People also say she can be rather immature, at times.
She can also be rather ungenerous. Not that she’s greedy, but she would prefer to keep her share, rather than give it away. She feels cheated when she has to do an assignment with another person, because she often feels that she does all the work while her partner gets half credit.
Strengths: Glenda’s best subject is charms, however she is rather talented at Transfiguration. She seems to have an infinitely optimistic demeanor. She is rather agreeable, and easy to get along with. If you’re not annoyed by her. She can be rather nice, if she feels like it.
If you ask her a favor, she’ll do it if she remembers. She is a studious person, and she works hard to prove herself, and learn as much as she can about the wizarding world. She strives to achieve her goals, but she rarely sets any.
Sometimes she can be comforting. She is often more understanding and comforting to strangers more than her friends. This is simply because she doesn’t know what to say to her friends, since they confide much more important problems in her than a stranger. Plus, a stranger is someone she might never see again, if she happens to give bad advice, or embarrass herself.
She can be a fun person to be around. She likes to make jokes, however, most of them are terribly cheesy. She often tries to lighten the mood with jokes, and dislikes having serious conversations. She can think of very good comebacks to any rude remark, or a funny comment to say when something amusing happens. However, it often takes her much too long to think of them, and the moment to say them passes.

Past, Present, and Future
History: Glenda had a rather enjoyable young life. From the moment she was born, she knew a world of happiness and love. Her mother and father glowed with their love for each other. And, instead of a spiteful older brother, her brother, Gerald, was kind and understanding. He was a full three years older than her, and often gave her advice. She looked to him to lead her by the hand in life.
Since her time in the cradle, her mother taught her of a world where anything could happen. She told tales or dragons, and princes and princesses. She told Glenda of the real world too, full of magic and witches and wizards. She was taught to believe anything could happen, and her imagination soared.
Even as she grew, she talked to toadstools, and kissed frogs. There was magic out there, and Glenda was waiting for it to find her. She was still too young and naïve to know why her own mother did not have magic. She was still young enough to think the world was perfect, and anything she thought could come true.
Her first sign of magic ability occurred when no one was around to witness it. Oddly enough, it was on one of her adventures. Glenda fancied herself a princess, lost in the woods of the park near her home. She often had such adventures and ideas. A tree, or stump would often suffice for a prince or dragon. In her adventures she was always courageous and stunningly beautiful, however, this did not conquer a small fear of heights, she possessed.
But that was besides the point. One day Glenda was playing in the part as usual. It was not a park with smooth cement sidewalks, or nicely clipped grass with benches every few meters. Instead, it was an unruly forest, with a large field, pavilion and a small metal jungle gym. The forest was the perfect place for Glenda to have her fun. In this particular adventure, Glenda was captured by a dragon, and being held hostage behind some bushes.
Her prince was coming to save her, and in her mind’s eye she could see the handsome prince battling it out with the evil dragon. Eventually, he slayed it. Her adventure was coming to an end, and she was reunited with her true love. An old, dead tree was her “prince.” Glenda wrapped her small arms around the trunk and gave it a kiss. She drew back and almost screamed.
There appeared to be a face in the tree. It looked out at her, with it’s craggily features that dimly resembled her imaginary prince’s face. But it disappeared soon enough, and all that was left was sooth white bark.
When she excitedly told her brother of this adventure, he tossed it aside as one of her many fantasies. Glenda secretly suspected that his lack of belief was what kept him from Hogwarts.
However, when he was not asked to join Hogwarts, or any magical school, Gerald grew broody and nasty. He was not nearly as nice to Glenda, and began to grow spiteful of any attention she got. Meanwhile, her mother sunk into depression. She thought it was her fault that her son was non-magical. And soon, Glenda’s father began to work longer shifts, to avoid the suffocating solemness that had settled over the household.
Glenda spent more and more time with her maids, instead of her family. She missed her old family, the happy one. She did not want this new one. She befriended her personal maid, who showed her many small magics or devices to entertain her. And she also spoke of what she’d heard of Hogwarts, as she had attended a much smaller, and less grand school.
Soon Glenda was excited to go to Hogwarts. However, she also knew what was wrong with her brother and mother now. And what had happened to them.
There was very little joy when owls began bombarding the house with letters from Hogwarts. Glenda was ecstatic, while her brother sulked, giving Glenda very nasty looks. Their mother seemed to not notice the owls, or whom they were from. She simply wandered the rooms of the manor in a daze.
Glenda’s maid and her father were happy for her, and loaded her with presents and school items. Glenda often tried to show her mother that she had made it to Hogwarts. That she was magical. However, her mother did not seem anchored to reality anymore, and could often be found talking to inanimate objects.
As the years went by, Glenda came from every holiday, and displayed magic for her mother. However, it seemed to have no effect, except to make her brother give her very hateful looks.
By third year, she stopped coming home for the holidays, and she stopped trying to talk to her mother. Her brother often avoided her, and told her that she was the one who had done this to mother. Glenda disliked being home, aside from seeing her father again, though he was rarely home, either.
And Glenda brought home presents for her family anyway, mostly because she felt guilty . She made friends, she had a couple dates. And life seemed to proceed as normal.
Here and Now: Glenda is working very hard on studying for her O.W.L.s. She is having a hard time balancing her social and study time. She has been feeling rather disheartened, as she has had trouble working spells lately. However, she is looking forward to learning more advanced and complex curses, even if she can’t work them correctly. She has devoted her free time to finishing her homework, and rarely has time to do anything aside from study.
Long-term Outlook: Glenda is looking forward to graduating. She is hoping to work in the ministry, like her father once she graduates. She wants to work in an advanced area, and have a rather high-ranking job, so she can prove she is good at something. She wants to be-well known, and respected, however, she does not quite know what she would be doing to get there. She simply wants to be someone that she can be proud of being.

RP Sample: The snow gently drifted down from the sky. It settled lightly on the ground, waiting a few seconds before disappearing. But soon, the snow started falling so thickly that it did not disappear, and the ground was becoming hard and icy beneath it. The trees were bare and naked, stripped of their leaves in a past season. The wind howled and whistled, bringing scents and tales of the north.
Glenda sighed, watched the snow drift slowly to the ground. She could just imagine how amazing the Great Hall would look, but it was long past the hour when she was supposed to be asleep. ‘Hello, Old Man Winter.’ She thought, watching the snow. She could almost seem a face with a long beard, similar to Dumbledore’s, form in the snow. However, it was gone in an instant.
Glenda sighed and watched continued watching the snow. She envied it. How it could just fall lazily from the sky, and settle on the ground. It lay there in perfection until the first rowdy students began jumping in it. Personally, Glenda was not fond of playing in the snow. It was cold, wet, and uncomfortable. She couldn’t see why people wanted to ruin the endless stretches of pure white bliss.
Glenda jumped in fright, toppling off the chair she’d been sitting on. Something cold, wet, and slimy has brushed against her arm. When she sat up, and carefully looked up at the windowsill, where she had been resting her arms, there was a small cream ball of fur. She smiled and pulled herself back onto her chair. She stroked the small cream furball.
“You shouldn’t have scared me like that, Fuzzy. I thought you were still under the bed.” Glenda told it.
Fuzzel-Lumpkins Schoonkie McMyster the Third, or Fuzzy, as the Puffskein was called for short, gave Glenda another lick and rubbed, what was supposedly his head, against her arm. Glenda smiled and absently stroked Fuzzy, who began the odd purring that Puffskeins were known for.
Glenda smiled faintly as she looked out the window at the snow again. The sun was just peeking over the top of the hills. It shone brightly out on the grounds, making the snow flare a blinding white. Glenda smiled, squinting against the bright light. Behind her, an alarm went off, beeping shrilly in the silent dorm room.
Someone stirred, and Glenda could see them sitting up behind their curtains. It was time to get ready for classes. Glenda, rather reluctantly left her chair by the window to brush her teeth. She had a odd feeling that today was going to be rather good.
