Title: Taking A Break

Felicia Hartwick - July 24, 2005 12:49 AM (GMT)
Felicia watched as the delivery owls from GladRags flew towards the castle. She was glad that the store finally offered delivery service now so that she wouldn't have to carry all those shopping bags around the small village. Especially when it was so winding out as it was this day.

She reached back to take the hood of her cloak in her fingertips and slipped it up over the back of her head. Normally she didn't like to use the hood, but today the wind was playing a game with her hair, blowing it all about, whipping it into her face. She now brushed the loose locks that had escaped her hood back into place behind her ear.

Now that she could see clearly, she glanced down the street to see which shop she should grace. But then she heard a little grumble. She looked down at her stomach and heard it again. "Ok, ok, we'll get something to eat." she said talking to her stomach.

The Three Broomsticks came into view as she walked down the path, through the other students out for an afternoon of shopping. She pushed open the day, walked by the shrunken head and stepped into the warmth of the pub. The bar keep looked up and waved her over to an empty table, and then pointed to a waitress that he would be sending over.

At the table, Felicia slipped her cloak off and draped it over the spare chair before she walked over to the other chair to sit down. Seconds later, the waitress came to her and took her order, a plate of fish and chips and a butterbeer. She leaned back to take a look around the pub, wondering if there were any other students from Hogwarts there. It was a cold day for a trip to Hosmeade so she thought the little pub would be doing a whomping busiiness today.

After a while she took a book out of a pocket of her robe and opened it up. Might as well get a chapter done. she thought as she looked at the small potions book in front of her.

She was so lost in her book, she didn't notice someone standing on the other side of the table.

Prof. Sarah Kerrigan - July 24, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
Sarah, having her bag over one shoulder, was just exiting Honeydukes. The main purpose of her walking down to Hogsmade on this slightly chilly day was to get a book or two she needed and couldn't borrow from the library. On her way back, she dropped by a candy store, for some reason craving sugar.

Now walking down the street, she was passing The Three Broomsticks. Suddenly she had a craving for something warm, and feeling slightly hungry, there was nothing stopping her from entering. Pushing the door open, she entered the warm pub, and was led to the table right away. Hanging her bag on the back of the chair and dropping her emerald cloak over it, Sarah settled into the other chair, and ordered some tea and soup.

Girl had nothing to do, and books she just bought could wait. Therefore, she was surveying the pub, looking out for any other students. She found one, sitting across one table from her, reading a book. Sarah recognized the girl as Slytherin, and remembered her name. But she didn't know her all that well, meeting her only on several occasions. While waiting for her order to be filled, Sarah slipped off the chair and walked over to the other student.
"Hey Felicia. Mind if I join you for a second?"

"Hey Felicia. Mind if I join you for a second?"

The words startled Felicia at first, making her snap her book closed in front of her. She looked up to find the Head Girl standing before her. Felicia knew the girl, after all being a Prefect, she did have some dealings with the Head Girl in the course of the year, but as for being tight friends, the answer was no.

"No. No, please join me." she said, gesturing to the other chair. "Out enjoying a semi lovely day in the village? Getting a bit of shopping done?"

Felicia picked up a chip from her plate and took a small bite. She picked up another and gave it a little wave, "I've been craving these since my feet hit the village. I haven't had fish and chips in such a long time." Then she took another bite.

"Is there something you need me for?" she asked now wondering why the Head Girl came over to her.

Prof. Sarah Kerrigan - July 25, 2005 04:18 AM (GMT)
"You can say so," replied Sarah to Felicia's question about enjoying the day. "It's a nice change from the walls of the school. I had to get a couple of books, and today was the only free day I had."

She was leaning against the chair back all this time, not to sure whenever to sit down or no, depending on the reaction of a Prefect in front of her. Well, it seemed that her sudden appearance only went as far as book snapping. Therefore, smiling, Sarah settled on the edge of a free chair.

"Well, I had a craving for sugar and something warm. I actually wasn't planning on staying in Hogsmade for long, you know, but I think I deserve a break. Don't we all?" she grinned and looked over to her table. Her order still wasn't there.

"Is there something you need me for?" That took Sarah slightly by surprise. Yes, she was a Head Girl, and Felicia was a Prefect, but out of Hogwarts, Sarah was just a regular witch, a student of a 7th year.
"Um, no, not really," she replied with a slight stumble. "Just saw you and was wondering how you were doing, that's all."

Felicia relaxed when Sarah said she had just come over to chat. She had wondered if word of her letting those First Years go without incident, when she found them out of their common room after hours. It was the end of a long day and Felicia wasn't in the mood to drag herself back to the Prefect Office to do the forms for a first warning, so she gave them a talking to, and let them be on their way.

Felicia saw Sarah glance back at her food that was still on her table, "Why don't you go get your order and come join me." she told Sarah. "There's plenty of room."

The little bell over the door rang and a group of Third Years entered looking for a place to sit. Felicia pointed in their direction, "See if you come over here, they can all get a table to sit together." Plus it would elimate the dirty looks they would shoot my way when they saw me taking up a table all by myself
she thought to herself.

Sarah rubbed her eyes. She was actually feeling really tired from all the exams and such, not to include all the paperwork with sorting new students into files. That reminded her once again to go, find Duke and hammer him on the head for skipping off all the time. He was literally never there.

She stood up, nodding at Felicia's suggestion and brought her freshly made soup and tea over to the table, then grabbed her bag and cloak just in time to get away from the group of third years. The place was really getting crowded now, and people sometimes seemed aggressive over tables.

This time she flopped down into a chair and supported her head with one arm, feeling more relaxed. She picked up the spoon and dipped it into the soup, stirred it for a bit with a blank stare before sighing. She then looked up at a Prefect.
"So what've you been up to lately?"
