Title: Stating the Obvious
Description: Explanation of changes

Prof. Breena Brightheart - July 3, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
As most of you can see, the permission masks have been altered so that places like St. Mungo's and the Ministry are no longer visible to student characters (not like y'all RPed there anyway). This clearly indicates that HPU is already undergoing the changes recently discussed and voted on in the RP Discussion forum.

I'm currently in the middle of these changes, but am stopping for the night. I will be needing a few test bunnies soon, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested.

Also, it was suggested to me that I borrow Magical Dublin from AU. I don't particularly like that idea, as it's something I created specifically for the Ardneiu world. BUT it was in response to another idea I had...

Would the "newness" of a second or third magical district (in some other region of the U.K.--Scotland, Wales, or N. Ireland) be appreciated? It wouldn't be anything overly detailed. Just perhaps something like a Diagon Alley-wannabe area, and maybe a neighborhood or two for residences. If not, then the WW side of the site will remain focused on London with those few other scattered-about places--you know, Azkaban, and the like. I just thought having a second or third region might spice things up a bit, but I'll leave that up to you all.

Please respond here with your thoughts.

I agree that another region besides London would be fun, especially for residencies and whatnot. There are lots of other regions mentioned in the books -- Ottery St. Catchpole, Little Whinging, Wiltshire. I don't know how many members would want to RP places they live, but those examples could provide them with the ability to do so. I don't think we would really need any more Diagon Alley type places, since we have that and Hogsmeade, and as far as I know, the stores we RP about there don't necessarily have to be present in canon.

The only problem with expansion is making sure we have enough members to keep the new areas in use!

Breen. You've known me long enough to know that I'm very open to new places for me to do more things. But the main problem --as always-- is that we don't have enough members to keep these places active. And chances are, we'll have to shut those places down before they've even reached their full potential.

Now, I think the main thing is. We have to get more members, without compromising our high standards. --HAH. Easier said than done. But yeah, I digress.

I'm all for the new areas. Looking forward to them, actually, when they get put in place. I'll have some fun for sure.

Yes! Other areas could definately be very interesting. Much anticipation to the whole WW thing.
