Title: The long ride

Vincent Caldwell - June 18, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
The compartment was vacant so he slid in through the door. He glanced over his shoulder as his bright blue eyes darted about. The young man shoved the trunk into the overhead compartments and made sure it was secure.

Sitting down, a sad sigh escaped him. He didn't want to be here . . .He didn't want to be on this train heading to the prestegious Hogwarts. Personally, Vincent would rather be at home where he wouldn't be bothered by people and not only that, if he had stayed home so would Tobias.

Tobby? He called mentally.
I'm almost to school.

Vincent noted the sadness in the message. Much like he was feeling now.
Me too . . . . Vincent bit his lip for a moment.

Shooting another glance over his shoulder seeing if anyone was there. He always had that unsettling feeling in his stomach that he was being watched. Even if he wasn't being watched, he still felt as though he was.

Vincent layed across the seats tucking his jacket behind his head. His eyes inched closed for a moment but then would shoot back open to glance around the room.

Pushing a strand of brown hair from his forehead, he looked out the window as the evergreen trees flew by at a fast pace. The scenery was rather monotonous and he found himself inching to sleep. Half asleep, Vincent failed to hear the footsteps outside the door.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 19, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
Josi was catching the train back to school, she'd spent the holidays with her sister, she had enjoyed it, but missed being rebellious, and she could only really enjoy it if she was with Alex.

Wandering through the cars of the train, she glanced into every compartment, saying a quick hello to those she new, and an evil glare at those she'd quickly become enemys with. Having enemies was so fun.

She finally came across a compartment that was empty except for one boy. She knocked lightly on the door and slid it open.

"Do you mind if I sit in here? Everywhere else is either full, or its like putting a fox in a chicken pen... Me being the fox." She slipped through the door without being invited, it was a students train after all...

She placed her bag up into the rack, she was still wearing her muggle clothes, a pair of jeans, a dangly belt she had nicked from her sister and a deep red singlet with 'rebellious' written across the chest. A befitting piece of attire.

"I'm Josi. Joseliel De Montroi, Slytherin 6th year." She sat down, crossed her leg and leant back, breathing in deeply. Socialising was no easy job.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
Vincent quickly sat up as a very pretty girl slid open the compartment door. Before he could eve respond to her question, she was already placing her baggage in the overhead compartments.

What if I wanted to be alone . . . ? Vince thought to himself. Not that she couldn't join him though. It was a free country and it's not as though he owned the train.

Are you talking to me Vince?

Vince shook his head as if Tobias could see it. However, this probably made him look extremely weird to this Joseliel girl before him. His eyes flitted across the writing on her shirt before they flitted back to the scenery outside.

"Vincent C-Caldwell," He said as he glanced back at her to see what she was doing. Vince was a very paranoid sort of guy. Maybe it dealt with being bullied as a young boy? He would never truly know why . . . .

Vincent, you never answered me, Tobias voice rang through his mind.

No, I wasn't. There's someone else in the compartment with me.

((OOC:To the readers
Blue is Vince.
Green is Tobias.
The identical twins can speak to each other by a telepathic link.))

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 12:32 AM (GMT)
Josi stretched the length of her body and sighed.

"Hello Vince. You know which house your in yet?" Josi asked. The boy looked about the same age as her, but she couldnt be sure these days.

Josi lifted her shirt up to her belly button, she'd gotten it pierced over the break, much to her mothers disgust. It was perfectly healed now, and the ring through it was silver with deep red ruby ends. Cost her an arm and a leg, but her mother had regrettably given her access to the bank accounts. She poked it, spinning it around, before pulling her top back down.

Josi was dying for a smoke, but new that she'd get into big trouble if she lit one in the train. She'd do it if she was with Josi, but risking it with a new student was not something she'd do willingly.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
Vincent watched her for a moment. She looked about his age. Maybe a bit younger. He couldn't be all too sure. Then again, he didn't spend alot of time with people so he could be very wrong.

Vince shook his head. "Haven't b-been sorted y-yet." He told her in the shortest way possible. Vince was like that. He didn't like talking to others so when forced to, he makes things short and simple . .. even if they weren't in full sentences.

However, Vincent was pretty sure he'd be a slytherin. By default mainly. His family was of pureblood lineage . . .however, were not like most purebloods. They believed the the muggle born wizards wer just as powerful if not more so than purebloods.

He watched her play with a metal ring in her belly button. Vincent had never seen that before . . . at least . ..not a piercing in the belly button. His eyes flickered towards the outside again not wanting her to think he was staring at her stomach.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
((OOC: The use of that word to describe purebloods may have been well placed, but not entirely PG friendly :P ))

Josi smiled. "Not sorted yet huh? Well, its not such a gruelling process. They stick on a hat and wait for it to speak. It put me in Slytherin, although my other family members were in other houses. I think its because I'm a bad influence on the good and righteous. I tend to rebel alot. With flair of course."

She got up and stood on the chair, sorting through her bag she pulled out a book. It was nearly new, but still had some wear about it. She sat in the corner and opened it up.

Josi had recently become more skilled in the field of art, and had spent the last few weeks drawing what came to her head. They weren't bad, but given a few years, her skills would be good enough to get her some extra money and a name for herself.

"So, Vince, how old are you? Have any brothers, sisters, pets?" Josi asked, her pencil scratching on the page as she directed a question at him, but not looking up from her book.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 01:27 AM (GMT)
Vincent nodded as she talked about the sorting process. He had heard around the train it wasn't as bad as older students made it out to be. Nothing harmless about a hat that could speak . . .then again, it was something that needed to be experianced.

He watched as she climbed up into the chair. What on earth was she doing? He wondered as she came down with a slightly worn sketchbook. he sound of pencil on paper filled the small compartment as Vince glanced back out the window. Fortunately, the scenery had changed to the english moores.

His bright blue eyes glanced back at Josi as she asked him a few questions. "S-seventeen," He said bluntly returning to the window. Vincent ran his fingers against the smooth glass leaving a trail of oil from his fingers.

Vince turned back to her as a few more questions were slung at him. "A-a b-brother," He said as melancholy filled his voice. Vincent was sad that his brother wasn't with him. They needed each other . . . at least, they felt as though they did. Vince didn't see how in the long run this separation would help them.

OOC: Sorry, thinking AU I changed it though.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
Josi was sketching a simple rickety haunted house as Vincent spoke.

"Seventeen huh? Me too... And a brother? How old is he, does he go to Hogwarts as well?" Josi asked. She wasnt looking him, but for some reason new her talking was scaring him speechless.

'Not like I can help it. The guy needs some friends... Not that the influence I place on him would be good...' She thought to herself, as she started to draw ghosts swimming around the haunted house.

"Well, I have a sister, a brother and a dog, which is currently wandering the corridors I think... I'll call her if you want to meet her." Josi said. "I have a snake too, if your interested." She added. Its not like Josi was eager to talk. She kind of just did it, like it was habit. She wasnt prying too much, and she was being nice, but it just flowed. It just happens.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Vincent nodded as she repeated his age. He craned his neck slightly to see what she was doing. Apprently she was drawing something. He could barely see the small shapes of ghosts.

Vincent once again, not being verbal with his communication shook his head as she asked if Vincent's brother was going to Hogwarts. His eyes glasses for a moment as if about to possibly cry, however, that was pushed aside as he glanced out the window again.

"Sevent-teen," He said softly to Josi when she asked his brother's age. He wondered if she would catch the fact that they were twins just by Tobby's age. He pegged her to be a bright girl so far so he didn't see why she wouldn't pick up on it. Unless she was oblivious. Which somehow he doubted . . . .

Vince layed back down across the seats as he watched Josi sketch something he couldn't see. He bit his lip for a moment then his eyes darted away from her.

He thought it rather odd that someone was being nice to him.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
Josi nodded her head.

"Twins? Or just born in the same year?" Josi asked, it was simple mathematics. Either his mother gave birth within the same 12 months of Vincent being born, or they were twins.

She noticed out of the corner of her eye, that Vince was trying to see what see was drawing. Josi added a few final details to the houses crooked windows and leaning walls and tossed the book over onto Vince's stomach.

"Have a look. I'm not that good yet, but I get better everytime I draw." She said, modestly... Josi was never one to talk herself up, and never classed herself as better than others.

"Do do any drawing? Play any instruments? Or have any other interests? I wont take no as a response..." She said in a playful tone.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 02:07 AM (GMT)
Once again with the body language, Vincent nodded. "I-ident-tical twins," He said as he looked at the picture. Honestly, he thought Josi was a good artist.Though like everyone , there was always room for improvement right?

Vincent shook his head at Josi's modesty. The drawing was much better than he could ever do. His drawings looked like chicken scratch and stick figures next to her's. "I-it's g-good." He said handing it back to her.

Vincent didn't know why but he found himself talking to this girl. It was out of his repertoire even though his speech was still disconected and sloppy. The point was, he wasn't avoiding the questions like he usually would.

"R-read," He said simply. Vincent would have mentioned spending time with Tobias however, he wouldn't know if he could contain his sadness if mentioning his brother. Also, not many people knew twins . . .and most of the time identical twins were much closer than fraternal . . .He didn't want her to think him even odder than she already did.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Josi smiled.

"Read huh? I used to read when I was little. But, now I just occupy my hands. I never read my texts unless its absolutely dire." Josi said.

She took one last look at her art book and put it away. She slid her hand down the front of her top and left it there for a moment. A small reptile began to slide up Josi's hand, curling itself around her wrist.

"This is my snake... Not sure what sex, and it doesnt have a name... Well, not that it matters. I hatched her myself. It's been living in there..." Josi nodded to her chest... "Since it was a baby. Its very quite, isnt messy and its warm. Wanna hold. It's not venomous and wont bite." Josi leant over and offered the small green reptile to Vince.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
Vince's brows furrowed as her hands stopped at her chest. He then saw the green reptile wrap itself around her wrist. Vaguely he remembered when he and Tobias were young running through a small meadow near their house. There was a small green garden snake that looked similar to the snake Josi was holding out to him. Tobias and Vincent had wanted to keep the small reptile much to their mother's disgust and protesting. Mother always has the final word so the boys were not alloud to keep the snake.

Vince smiled lightly as he held his hand out to take the snake. It unslithered from Josi's hand and coiled it'self around him. Vincent traced a finger along it's scaly back and he glanced back at Josi.

"Y-you should n-n-name it-t." Vincent said softly. He had just surprised himself by sugesting anything. Usually Vince wouldn't have said anything about it. His blue eyes looked away from Josi and down at the the snake.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 02:38 AM (GMT)
"I should, but its not like the snake can agree as to whether or not its name is satisfactory." Josi said, shrugging.

"Why dont you name it, I dont mind, anything you feel like calling it. You shall name my serpent." Josi said, she got up and slid open the compartment door.

Josi whistled loudly and suddenly, bounding down the corridor, bounding off the walls was a dog, a black shiny doberman puppy. It flopped and slipped on the floor before leaping into the compartment. Josi quickly shut the door and sat down.

Quietly, she gave commands to the puppy which was overflowing with puppy happy goodness.

"Sit, and shut up. Quiet time now Scar..." Josi said. The dog immediately cocked its head to the side, took in Josi's statement, whacked its butt to the ground and panted softly.

"Good girl..." Josi said, scratching Scar behind the ears. "This is my dog Vince, she's about 5 years old, though you wouldnt know it... She has some kind of magic in her, which technically makes her metabolism around 5 months old... Its rediculous..." Josi laughed.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
Vincent watched the snake for a moment. He supposed what Josi said was true, either the snake needed to do something that would end up naming itself or they needed to know the sex of it.

He couldn't believe his ears when Josi said he could name the snake. Was she kidding? It would have been a cruel joke if it was. However, Vince didn't think it was.

His eyes grew wide as a huge dog bounded towards the door of the compartment. It was a huge doberman named Scar. He looked at if for a moment looking for the 'scar' but he failed to see one. Maybe Scar is short for something . .. He thought.

What?

Nothing Tobby, He though shaking his head. Once again, he probably looked odd to Josi responding to something she couldn't hear. The only way she could hear is if she was telepathic . . .which he didn't think she was.

"She's p-p-pretty," He said as he reached his free hand out towards her snout so she could sniff him.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 03:00 AM (GMT)
Josi laughed.

"She is pretty, say it too loud though and she may begin to strut. Are you gonna name that snake?" Josi asked.

Scar was sniffing Vince's hand, then glanced up at Josi for confirmation... Josi nodded her head and the dog proceeded to lick Vince's hand.

"Her full name is Scarlett, but thats a long name to call out when your dog is at the other end of the beach. Besides people called Scarlett look at me, but I doubt there are many people called Scar..." Josi said.

Scar had tired herself to the point of exhaustion, and after she finished gummying Vince's hand she flopped onto the floor and attempted to sleep.

"The breeded mentioned something about 90% of the snakes being female, so, my guess is that little serpent is a girl..." Josi said, trying to make things easier for Vinces naming problem.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Crinkling his nose, Vince watched as the dog layed down. He wiped his hand on his black pants as Josi said something about the dog's name. Now he felt a bit stupid but at least she didn't know his thoughts.

"I-i was w-wondering about her n-n-name," Vincent said watching the dog roll over. Scar looked up at Josi again and scooted towards her feet.

VInce glanced back down at the snake as it tried to slither up his arm. No names came to mind while looking at it. "Z-zoe?" He asked curiously. Personally, he liked the name however, he didn't know if she did. The final decision was up to Josi as the baby snake was hers and not Vince's.

Once again as usually, Vincent's eyes made their routine flicker around the room to check it out.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 03:18 AM (GMT)
Josi watched Vince, just watched him.

"Zoe, I like it... Not that I'd ever use it... But since you chose it, Zoe it is. I tend to call her Serpentine... Oh what about Zoe Serpentine De Montroi... Just like one of the family." Josi liked the name, and decided it was a befitting first name...

Josi reached across and gently took the snake from Vince's arm, brushing him slightly with her fingertips as Zoe Serpentine De Montroi slid up and made its way back to her chest, back to the warm.

"So, what style of books do you enjoy reading?" Josi asked, as she looked down her top to make sure the snake was ok.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 03:27 AM (GMT)
Why was she being so nice? He wondered in confusion. He wasn't used to someone being so nice to him. He knew he had thought this many times since Josi was in the compartment but it wa the truth.

He nodded to her as he was glad she liked the first name. She could have changed it if she chose to but she didn't.

Vincent glanced up at her when her fingertips grazed his arm as she took Zoe from him. He watched the snake slither up her and then he turned back to the scenery outside.

He turned back to her when she asked about books. His eye flickered towards the ceiling as he thought about it. "Horror . . .and s-s-suspence." Both of the twins loved a good scary story. If they couldn't fall asleep at night, all the better.

"A-a bit of m-myth-thology." Mainly European mythology was his thing but he had read many different types.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 03:37 AM (GMT)
"Ahh, I like horror. The feeling of been scared to death is so exhilarating... I love it... I'm more of the actually physically go out and scare yourself kind of person. I'm a real prank puller. I love playing jokes on people, the scarier the better. But some people just dont get my sense of humour. And no one at this damned school takes me anymore less than serious. It drives me up the wall..." Josi complained...

She missed her brother at that very moment. They used to play the worst jokes on their sister. Once scared her into the broom cupboard for at least 2 days... Their mother grounded them, but ignorantly placed them both in the same room.

'Fun times... I miss that, why can't people like him and me exist in every day life?' Josi asked herself.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Vincent's eyes lit up at the the fact that her and her brother used to pull pranks. It reminded him of Tobias and the pranks they pulled on their family. They had switched who they were for a week, placed huge tarantulas in their mother's bath tub. They got in trouble but it was always fun.

"T-t-tobias and I p-played tricks t-too," He said smiling. Once again he wondered what had gotten into him. He found himself talking to this girl. Actually talking to her . . . and more than just one worded sentences.

Vincent layed back down again as he watched her. In a way he was relieved he was making a friend however, the sadness that his brother wasn't there still ached within him.

"On m-m-my m-mother." He pushed a lock of brown hair off his forehead.Vince chuckled slightly as he remembered some of the things they did to her.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 03:55 AM (GMT)
"I can imagine the horror you'd put your poor mother through, especially considering the fact that your identical..." Josi laughed. Now thats a prank worth pulling, switching places...

"So, whats the best prank you pulled on your parents... Other than the obvious one of switching places, which I still think is worth a go." Josi said.

Scar rolled over, all four legs in the air and started to gallop. Even in her sleep this dog was energetic... Josi stiffled a laugh, trying not to wake her up.

"She often does that, I think she dreams about chasing people on broomsticks. Which she often does when I play Quidditch." Josi said, pointing to her pooch.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
Vince smiled broadly at the fact that she thought him and Tobias switching places was funny. It always was funny. His mother couldn't tell them apart which was sad. The only people who could tell them apart was themselves.

Vince cradled his chin in thought. He wasn't quite sure what the best prank was but he could always ask.

Tobby.
Yeah . . .
What's our best prank? There was a pause for a moment before he heard his brother's thoughts ring through his mind.

Charming a screaming baby mandrake into a silent library. Vincent chuckled out loud as if there was a joke that Josi couldn't hear.

"Charming a-a baby mandrake i-into a s-s-silent lib-brary," He said with a grin. The thing had screamed and screamed. Good thing it had only been a charm or they would have been in more trouble.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 04:20 AM (GMT)
Josi laughed. It was a good one. She'd never actually thought of using a live object before.

"I love it... My pranks usually take place during Quidditch matches... Simple charms that stuff up the oppositions gameplay. But the best prank I've pulled yet would be on my sister. We took all her underwear and hid it under the kitchen sink, then planted charmed underwear which zaps the wear repeatedly for 2 minutes, before disappearing in a cloud of dust. The look of disgust on my sisters face was to die for, but the look of horror on my mothers face made me proud." Josi said, laughing enough to wake the dog from its galloping slumber.

Scar looked around the room, rolled and to her side and snorted loudly.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 04:42 AM (GMT)
Vincent couldn't help but laugh at Josi's antics. It was a full strong laugh not a chuckle. The laugh slightly surprised Vince but he didn't surpress it.

"N-n-never w-would have th-thought of it," Vince said as his laugh reduced it'self to a chuckle. Though Vincent was still using sentence fragments to speak, Josi should feel very privledged because usually he would have not talked to her. Anyone else, and he would have blatently ignored them. The most they probably would have gotten out of him was a curt nod and possibly his name if they were lucky.

However why wasn't he acting that way towards Josi? Was it that she was an extremely talkative person in the first place? Was it the fact that she was extremely nice from the get go? Vince wasn't entirely too sure.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 04:55 AM (GMT)
Josi was happy that she had a positive response from someone other than her sibling.

"Well, I still have many more up my sleeve, but the need for a pranking buddy is required, its much too time consuming and fiddly if you dont have someone watching your back..." Josi said, shrugging.

Zoe Serpentine decided to make an entrance again, sliding up from the middle of her chest, it curled around her neck and sniffed her ear, its tongue tickling the side of her neck.

"She'd not usually this active, I think it must be the company she's in, she likes you..." Josi put her arm out to see if it was, in fact, Vince, that Zoe was interested in... The green snake slithered down her arm and tried to stretch out towards Vince.

"Well its certainly you that she likes... Here you can hold her till we get there, we have an hour or so to go yet." Josi said, offering the snake to the boy.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 05:07 AM (GMT)
Vincent definately knew how that was. While doing a prank, while one was setting everything up, the other was watching to make sure the coast was clear. It was vital to have your 'partner in crime.'

Vincent smiled as the snake extended towards him. He took Zoe from Josi. It coiled around his wrist as it's tongue flickered close to his skin. Vincent glanced out the window t o see if he could see the school in the distance. Unfortunately he couldn't.

"Do you have l-lots of f-f-friends here?" Vince asked Josi. She seemed like the type of person to be popular enough to have loads of them. Vincent knew that was something he would not acquire. It was sheer luck he had found Josi today. Or rather Josi found him.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
Josi leant back and watched as her snake changed alliances... 'Bloody women' Josi joked to herself.

"I dont have that many friends no... I do have a few, spread across the houses. I'm not like other Slytherins. Pureblood and houses mean nothing to me. Its the person that counts... Let me count I'll give you a number..." Josi said. She counted on her fingers the amount of people she'd become close to, or at least knew...

"Close friends, which is what I'm counting, would have to be two, one being Alex Riddle, my closest friend, she's in Gryffindor. And the other is Blaine Lindskold, me and him are quite close... Thats it really." Josi said, realising it had been a while since she'd spoken to either of them.

"You and your brother... Where did you go to school before here?" Josi asked, presuming that they were both together before Vince started at Hogwarts.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 05:30 AM (GMT)
Vince stopped rubbing his finger across the snakes scales as he watched Josi count on her fingers. She counted only two people which surprised Vincent greatly.

"M-muggle school when w-we w-w-were really young. Transf-fered to a s-school O'Reilly's S-school of W-wizard-dry." He said stuttering out the longest sentence fragments to Josi since he had been on the train.

Then, unfortunately the two were excepted to different schools. Vincent glanced at the floor sadly again. He still wondered why they were seperated. He hated the fact that they were and he knew Tobias felt exactly the same way.

"T-t-told w-we depended on e-each other t-t-too much," Vincent mumbled more to himself than Josi. It had been what the teachers suggested. They were the ones that suggested to send the two to different schools.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 05:35 AM (GMT)
"Ughh, dependance crap huh?" Josi said, spitefully. "I think if you guys want to spend time together, then you should. You only have a few years left and then you'll be fine, the rest of your life is ahead of you." Josi said, not that her opinion mattered in this school.

"Well, since you've been apart, you've successfully made a friend... I can know add you to my one handed finger friend count..." Josi said playfully... Lifting another finger on her hand to make three.

"I'll show you round the school, see you to classes, plus also be your partner in crime..." Josi smiled, making the last part sound like an offer he couldnt resist, "So, what you think? Friends?" Josi asked.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 05:51 AM (GMT)
Vincent nodded as the small snake slither up his arm and curled around his bicep. He was glad Josi felt the way he and Tobby did. A huge grin spread across his face as she told him he was a friend. He was greatful to have at least one in this new place. If he hadn't met Josi he would mope sadly around the castle. All his talking would have been done telepathically with Tobias.

Vince was glad she offered to show him around. He knew he would definately need it. From what he heard, Hogwarts was at least ten times bigger than O'Reilly's.

"F-friends,"He said putting his hand out to shake her's as though they were making a deal.He could feel a wave of relief wash through him. The relief was visible in his features.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 06:17 AM (GMT)
Josi laughed... She could see that he was strongly relieved that he wouldnt have to brave the colossus that is Hogwarts alone.

She grasped his hand and shook it... "Friends." She stared down at the dog on the floor, which was now galloping against, what seemed to be, a turtle... Josi gently kicked the dog in the side and it lifted its head lazily.

"Come give me a hug pup..." She asked the dog. Scar looked around regrettably, but didnt whine, she got up, wobbled and rested her head on Josi's lap, falling asleep sitting up.

Josi stroked behind Scar's ears and smiled. "What do you know about Hogwarts? What things have you heard that I need to clear up?" Josi asked.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 06:33 AM (GMT)
Vincent smiled at Josi broadly. They were friends but what would happen when Josi would try to introduce him to that Blaine guy or that Alexandria girl? He supposed he would act like his normal self. Avoid them as best as he could.

Vince watched the puppy sway momentarily as if about to fall over. Once again he glanced around especially at the door. No one was coming in.

"E-everything ch-ch-changes." His eyes flickered towards the ceiling. "The s-stairs?" Honestly, he had a heard many things about the school. Most he assumed were fake but they were actually real. For instance, the giant squid or the charmed ceiling in the great hall. All of it seemed unreal but it wasn't.

Vincent pushed a piece of brown hair out of his eyes.

Joseliel De Montroi - June 20, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
((OOC: The stairs dont move in the book... At least, I dont think they do))

"The stairs only change if you get lost. Other than that, I dont think they move... At least I've never caught them moving. I'll make it my mission to catch them in the act for you." Josi said.

"The ceiling in the Great Hall is like a real sky, its beautiful. And theres all kinds of strange water creatures in the lake. The Quidditch Pitch is my personal favourite... Only cause I love the sport with a passion. Other than that, theres not much about the school, other than its incredibly large, that you need to worry about." Josi said.

Scar's heard rolled back into Josi's lap before it snapped into the air, looking at Josi expectantly waiting for her to agree...

"Okay, come here." Josi said, the dog immediately leaped up onto the chair and rested itself on Josi's leg, breathing deeply before returning to its active slumber.

"Anything else you want to know?" Josi asked, making sure she covered all the ground.

Vincent Caldwell - June 20, 2005 06:53 AM (GMT)
OOC:I believe they do isnt that how they get to the 3rd floor??

Vincent nodded as he listened to her talk about school. So people had been wrong, the stairs wouldn't intentionally move so you'd get lost.Vince was very greatful about that.

"Th-there really a g-g-giant squid?" He asked curiously.Vincent had heard so much about this supposed squid and wondered if it was real.

For a moment, Vincent hoped she wasn't getting frustrated with his speach patterns. He stuttered and didn't speak in complete sentences. It was enough to drive anyone insane right? Well, he hoped it didn't bug Josi.

Vincent turned over on his stomach and watched Josi for a moment. He decided she looked like a quidditch player. "W-what p-position?"

OOC: Your prolly right, Josi isnt entirely sure, so my ignorance doesnt exactly matter.

"I'm under the impression there is a squid, you'll never catch me in the lake for that very reason. I'm not very trusting of water." Josi said.

Still stroking the dog, and smiled, and glanced over at Vince.

"I dont play for Hogwarts, I never got a chance to tryout. I play over the breaks with my friends. Very rough games, kind of like a street match, you know how you get street fights which is dirty fighting, well street Quidditch is much the same. Anything goes. I've aquired many injuries for that reason. But, I play the position of Chaser. Best position I think, I'm getting quite good at putting the red ball through the gold hoops." Josi joked.

"Do you follow Quidditch?" Josi asked.

Just that thought would keep him out of the water too. He wouldn't want to be drug under the water by a massive squid just because it thought you were a floating toy.Vince felt himself cringe at the thought.

Vincent couldn't see how Josi could play quidditch with practically no rules. Quidditch was a game of agression and what happens when the rules that check this agression is gone? It's a rather brutal game.

"P-played once o-or twice. W-was the k-keeper." Vince had also been to a couple matches. Those were always fun to watch. He loved watching the different aerobatic tricks the seekers would do just for that golden snitch. They did much more than he would ever do.

"N-n-not too g-good at it," He said as he remembered it. A few kids asked if he wanted to play since Toby had caught a cold the day before. The only reason he played is because the boys were being seperated so the sickness wasn't spread back and forth between the two.

Josi smiled.

"Theres always room for improvement. If you enjoy the sport, theres plenty of places to keep training." Josi said. "I dont really like the position of Keeper during the street matches. The Keeper is usually the position that requires the most reserves. They're a main target. I resigned from Keeper position after the first match left me temporarily blind, unable to talk and I was sprouting small horns from the head. The target of many charms I was." Josi laughed, recalling the appalled look on her mothers face, and the pat on the back from her brother.

"So, what class are you most looking foward to attending?" Josi asked, thinking about which class she preferred. "Maybe we'll even be in the same ones, we're both in 6th year arent we?"

Vincent Caldwell - June 24, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Vince's own eyes widened as he was quite appalled himself to her such things about street games. Immediately, he closed his mouth that was hanging wide open. He knew she was probably going to laugh at his reaction. He wondered what happened after that? St. Mungo's? Such horrible injuries should have earned their place among the injured there.

After his momentary shock, Vincent nodded his head as she asked if he was in sixth year. Though he felt a bit old to be in sixth year . . . .but that was okay.

"P-p-potions, and his-story." He said with a smile. Mainly he was looking forward to potions. How many incantations and 'silly wand waving' is in that class? Barely any so it would be safe to say his speach would not 'mess it up.'

Josi smiled at his reaction to her explanation of battle injuries...

"Well, I dont regularly attend any classes, but I'd have to say I enjoy the practical ones, charms, transfiguration and I do like potions. Only when we make potions which I can change for the betterment of my evil ways." Josi laughed.

Scar rolled around on Josi's lap, and Zoe was busily twirling itself in and out of Vince's fingers.

"Why history? I cant sit throught theory classes. They bore me. To tears. Most of the teachers are usually grateful that I dont turn up to their classes."
