Yes! You heard me right! ^^ HPU is implementing this "rewards program" for our members. Those who apply and meet the standards will be granted a second account for their RPing entertainment/enjoyment.

NOT SO FAST! *catches collar, and yanks back* Didn't you see the word "apply" up there? This program does not automatically grant you two accounts. In other words, we're not giving it away to anyone and everyone. It's a perk, a priviledge, a reward to those who deserve it--who've earned it. Granted, there are a lot of you who deserve this, but we won't be waiving the application process for anyone.

Alright, alright. *sighs and sits* So, how do you determine who has 'earned' it?
Glad you asked. When a person applies for a second account, we look for certain (common sense) things when making a decision, and rate them on a scale of 1 to 4 (where 1 is "unsatisfactory" and 4 is "excellent"). Those things break down as follows:

Duration/Level of Activity - Has this person been around very long, and is he/she active? You will have to have been an ACTIVE member for at least 1 month before you will even be considered for a second account.

Following the Rules - Does this person act in a manner that suggests he/she has read, understands, and respects the HPU rules and guidelines? Obviously, this is the most important thing about being a member of HPU. If someone doesn't respect the rules, then we aren't going to grant them a second account. Likewise, if you DO respect the rules, then why shouldn't you get some kind of reward for it?

Roleplaying Skills - Is this person's roleplaying satisfactory? HPU is considered an advanced RPG, and we will always strive to keep it that way. If you meet the minimum word count, make significant/meaningful contributions to threads, write well enough that your posts are legible, and display the sort of skill and creativity that makes a good roleplayer, then you have nothing to worry about. Don't let this part scare anyone, however. As always, no expects you to be a pro, but we DO expect you to at least meet the basic standard when it comes to your roleplaying/writing.

Community Contributions - Does this person contribute something positive to the overall community? HPU isn't just a place where you come to roleplay. It's a community. People develop out-of-character friendships here just as they do in character. It's the best part about HPU, and is one of the most important aspects of this site. Therefore, how well you play with others OOC will be considered in our decision.

In-Character Details - This includes such things as character development, history, originality, etc. If you've created one character that you've essentially done nothing with (i.e. haven't bothered developing them, rarely do anything interesting/significant with them, RP them as if they're little more than a blob in cyberspace), then why in the world would want another one? You have to do something with your character, other than have them waste pixels and forum space, and if you haven't done anything with the one you have now, we're not going to let you have another one.

Uh... you said something about a scale up there. What is it and how does it work?
Each of the above points will be rated according to the following scale:

4 - Excellent: Whee! Couldn't ask for better!
3 - Satisfactory: Hey, not bad!
2 - Needs Improvement: It's there somewhere, but we're not seeing enough of it.
1 - Unsatisfactory: Sorry, bud.

If you get mostly 1s and 2s on the above points (the part in purple up there), then you will not be allowed a second account. However. Anyone who does not get a second account the first time will be allowed to re-apply after one (1) month. During that 1-month period, they MUST be active, and obviously must improve themselves. The admin and moderators are always available to help by giving pointers, coaching people in their RPing, etc. Don't be afraid to ask for assistance!

If you rate mostly 3s and 4s, then obviously you will be granted a second account.

How will we know what we rated on each thingamabob up there?
There's a section in the (very short) application that gives you the option of requesting a 'score card'. Taking advantage of this option could tell you where you might need improvement, should your application be declined.

I'm a professor, darn it! I already have a second account! What do I get?
Professors will be allowed a 3rd (student-only) accounts, as long as they think they can handle them all. As always, anyone wanting to be a professor must first become prefects (or head students), and then step up from there. The same will apply to any and all secondary accounts.

When do I get to register the second account?
You may NOT register a second account until you have received an affirmative response from Prof. Breena Brightheart, or Prof. Feronia Ardantane.

Gah, I applied already, but it's been TWO WHOLE DAYS, and I haven't heard a peep! What's the deal?
