Title: Flying Class 001.
Description: Better get stradled, kids.

Prof. Summer Kao Blackbird - May 15, 2005 07:43 PM (GMT)
The grass was still watery with the morning dew when Summer stepped out of the castle, walking resignately towards the Flying Class's pitch. Her hand clutched tightly around her brand new and recently polished and waxed Cleansweep 11, she hoped lightly towards the field. The early bird in her relinquished in the first sunrays. Useless to say it was an enthusiasm she'd probably share with few of the soon-to-be-linging-up, sleepy-eyes students.

When she finally reached her spot, Summer stood there, holding her broom with one end as its tip rested in the grass, peering at the surrounding. The faint silhouettes of student began to emerge in the distance. Summer smiled. I just can't wait... She tought, with a mischievous smile that few of the students would've liked. I must remind myself to go easy on them... Don'T want to scare off the poor little things. Not yet. In fact, Summer had a mix of anticipation and anxiousness; she was thrilled with her new job, but scared of how the students would turn out to be. She just couldn't stand the whiny kinds, it was beyond her helping.

Straightening her navy-blue robe with tartan trimmings, she raised her head, trying to look as friendly as possible, her long black hair flowing softly under the english breeze.

Ebony Rainea - May 17, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
Ebony walked calmly up to the professor, her Hooter 9000 under her arm. She had this urge to jump around and be bouncing off the walls, but that was because she was still caffiene high. Her eyes were vibrating and her face was screwed up in concentration, trying desperately not to start running.

When she saw the professor and her shiny Cleansweep, Ebony stopped. She stood stalk still for a moment before walking up to her. For the moment, her eyes had stopped vibrating, but they were cloudy. She extended her hand, which was shaking slightly, and said in the calmest voice she could muster, "G'morning, Professor...Ebony Rainea at your service."

Her voice was slightly quavering, but she was proud that she hadn't started squacking like a bird. She had done that last time she was caffiene high, and it had not been very pretty. Let's say that it just ended up in a few detentions and her loosing her prefect's badge, but that was before. This was now. She was determined to keep her cool.

Breath...breath...soon, you'll be able to let out your energy soon. You'll be flying again... Ebony's eyes had starting vibrating again as she stepped away from the professor, and she had a dreamy smile on her face.

(Sorry Ebs is so weird today...I just couldn't help it...)

Kievan Tao Ordlay - May 17, 2005 01:55 PM (GMT)
Kievan grumbled under his breath as he made his way out to the flying field. The grass was sludgy beneath his feet, and despite the sunshine, he felt a chill.

Lore had followed him out of the tower and was resting on his shoulder, he was not in the best of moods and could not be bothered entertaining her. He shooed her away, resulting in her nipping at his ear before flying away.

Dragging his broom by the handle - something he would not have normally done - he headed toward where the professor and Ebony were stood. It was only now that he recognised the figure.

"Mother?" he wondered to himself, but recognised a wryness in her smile and shook his head. "Hello, Auntie Summer." he said, his voice still echoing with the morning grumbles.

Prof. Summer Kao Blackbird - May 17, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
Summer raised an eyebrow as she shook the young Hufflepuff girl's hand. She seemed quite out of it, and had a very peculiar look on her face. Summer smiled nonetheless. She loved anyone who wasn't classified as normal, which to her equaled boring.

Her face suddenly changed when she tought she recognized her nephew Kievan's face. Boy, had he ever grown up. Made a woman feel old.

"Damnit!" She said as he recognized her as his aunt.

"I can't even manage to fool kids anymore!" She said, faking to be angry.

"Teenagers, sorry." She excused herself, replacing the word 'kid'. It could induce quite a turmoil when you called kids that age by their name. Summer didn't want no trouble, at least not on her first class.

"Wont you give your darlin' Auntie a hug? Where are your manners young man?" She said, making a great deal out of embarrassing him. He was lucky; there was only one witness to his slight humiliation, and she seemed under the effect of some drug. These kids nowaday... She grumbled in her head, a smirk tracing on her lips.

Eavend Lunarius - May 17, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
Eavend was whistling as she headed out onto the dewy pitch, ignoring her now-wet socks as she swung her Moonbeam down from her shoulder. Hah! Flying! I love flying! She was already excited. Whee!

Idiot. You have feet, not wings. Stay on the ground where you belong, said a grumpy feline voice from the Hufflepuff dormitory. Eavend ignored it, twirling every few steps or so and hoping each time that she wasn't about to knock anyone down with her broomstick as she did so.

"Hello, Professor!" she greeted cheerily, looking around. "Hello, Ebony!" Eavend practically skipped over to her friend. "Are you ready to fly?" She figured the answer would be yes, judging from the other Hufflepuff's dancing eyes, and she supposed that her own must have been wide and excited as well. Holding her broom carefully so as not to whack anyone by mistake, the prefect performed another twirl. Whee!

Kievan Tao Ordlay - May 20, 2005 01:19 PM (GMT)
Kievan guessed his aunt had expected him to think she were his mother. In truth, he had done ever so briefly. But there was no way she could fool him. Even when they both dressed the same and tried their hardest, he could always just sense who was who. His aunt summer was more.... boisterous.

Pulling a face, but grateful he didn't have an aunt with a moustache, he moved closer and gave her a quick hug. He wasn't the most physically affectionate people. Granted, when he was around Pandora he could afford much more contact. But that was different.

"How have you been?" he asked, noticing that Eavend also seemed extra chipper for the morning. He regretted that he could not ask his aunt the same question in his herital language. Well, he guessed he made up for that in other genetic traits.

Prof. Summer Kao Blackbird - May 25, 2005 02:09 AM (GMT)
Summer gave the young Hufflepuff girl her warmest smile.

"Hello, dear!" She said, raising an eyebrow. This Hufflepuff cheerfulness was oddly getting to her, it seemed.

She returned Kievan's quick, shy hug and smiled again, looking at him closely. She answered his question before noting her observations out loud.

"How am I... Oh, bikkha, bikkha..." She said with a shrug, using her native veelan language. In fact she had no idea if the kid could even speak it.

"I do hope your mom taught you as much? Or was she too busy, that poor little hyper thing? Tell me, how is she. Haven't seen her in ages it seems, with work and all, aah.." She looked at him again.

"Looking quite like your dad did at this age... Tough you're more handsome, I do think. Tough I'm no refference; you know how it is. No matter how handsome, your sister's boyfriend just always HAS to be icky." She said with another shrug, looking around.

"Where are all the others? Are the Hufflepuffs the only ones able to make it to class on time?" She asked out loud, frowning. Now she wasn't going to wait all day for lazy kids to wake up!
