James Smith was born into a rather well-financed family. When he turned eleven and had received his first owl to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry, his mother had asked where the letter was from. James's father was put to the task of telling his son and his wife about the Wizarding World, which he had once experienced through stories told by his father.
James's mother did not want to be affiliated with these kinds of people, so she was dedicated in getting a divorce. Just after the divorce was finally declared successful, James's parents were mysteriously killed by Deatheaters, or so James was told as soon as he reached Hogwarts.
He is now in his seventh year at the magical school, rather professionally skilled in charms and counter spells, and is determined to become an Auror after leaving Hogwarts, which he believes may help him unravel the secrets of his parents' ancestry and mysterious deaths.
Lately, James keeps himself occupied by reading in the library, hanging around in the common room, helping out first-year students in the Entrance Hall, or simply walking around. It isn't boredom that keeps this wizard wandering around the castle; it is curiosity. Every day he tends to look for secret passages, hidden rooms, and mysterious entrances around the school and grounds, hoping that anything he finds will lead him into the path of assistance to the staff.
He eats very little due to an eating disorder that could possibly hurt him severly if he overeats. Since he does admire talking with others, he'll carry on a conversation if absolutely necessary. He thinks of himself as intelligent, what he sees as his only advantage in a world of pain. He has no intention of ever finding a girlfriend, and only wants peace of mind, and eradication of death eaters from the world. He hopes for peace in his lifetime, but would be content with a momentary pause to the world's unrest.

The young wizard is very attractive, but lacks much style. He usually wears his casual jean pants and white dress shirt while outside of robes, and his cloak always follows him around wherever he goes. James has creamy-smooth, sandy skin with crystal-lit mahogany eyes to match his hair. His body structure is tall and bony,
His robes are nearly always in a state of tatters and disarray, but that doesn't seem to matter to him. He has a static expression, which means that his face is always in an apathetic glare, and he seems untouched by any insult. His eyes are a pale shade of grey, fading into his nearly-sunken face.
