DA Role-play Example: You're on your way to a DA meeting when you see a member of the IS up ahead. They spot you before you have a chance to run or hide, and begin interrogating you as to your reason for roaming the castle at such a late hour. What do you do?

DE Role-play example: You have to meet with a DE contact person who works within the Ministry of Magic. With suspicions running very high lately, it's imperative that you keep a low profile. However, when checking your wand at the security desk, the guard experiences a problem and starts griping very loudly about it. Though it's only a minor difficulty, his behavior starts to draw attention to you--something that could prove fatal to this mission, as there are people who suspect you as being a Death Eater. How do you react, and what do you do?

I have to let you know that I can't accept any new DEs while we have major plotline activity going on, so I need all applications for the DE positions by September 25th.

Name: Chloe Corrona

Reasons for wanting to join: I want to join the DA because Chloe wants to be an Auror, and she would be more experienced in defense spells if she was in the DA. Plus, I'm trying to be more active at the board.

DA Role-play Example:

Chloe wandered down the hallway as quietly as she could, her quick steps barely clicking against the hard floor of the school. She looked around the area nervously, hoping that she wouldn't be seen by anyone as she headed to her meeting. She periodically stopped and slid into a shadowy corner. Usually, when she did this, she would find out that it was just her heart that was beating loudly in her ears.

I don't know why I get so antsy whenever I'm out here alone. This school always seems to have a mysterious and eerie feel to it. Maybe that's the reason that I feel so odd. Chloe reasoned as she took a shallow breath and turned the corner, only to see one of the people she had never wanted to see: Esmeralda Snippet, member of the IS. Not only had Chloe seen Esmeralda, but the IS member had seen her as well. Chloe cursed to herself at her stupidity. She usually made sure to check to see if anyone's coming before she continued on her way. She wondered how she was going to get out of this one.

Well, lying's not exactly my forte, but if it means that I don't get a detention or getting caught, then I'm all for it. Chloe thought as she felt around in her robes for her wand. She planned to use it only as a last resort. She put on her best "I'm-really-lost-so-help-me-out" face, then waited for Esmeralda to move closer to her.

"Well, well, well, what have we here? A Ravenclaw out after curfew?" She asked, her height making Chloe feel rather intimidated. Chloe looked around as if she was lost, but she knew it would take more acting to get to her meeting tonight. An idea popped in her head, and she twisted her face so she looked like she was on the verge of crying.

"W-Well...You see, I have this big essay that I've been working on for ages, and I was almost going to be done with it. I worked so hard on it, and right before I was getting ready to do my homework, I couldn't find my bag! And...And..." Chloe paused for a moment to let out a slight sob. "And...Then I looked around everywhere in the common room, but I couldn't find it, and I was so angry because I had worked so hard on it and I was sure I was going to get a good grade, but...Unless I find it, I'm going to get a horrible grade on this essay, and then I might not be able to keep up in my class, and then they might hold me back in fifth year, and....and...." Chloe started sobbing loudly, only to be quickly consoled by Esmeralda.

Esmeralda expression almost instantly softened. She still held her frown, but she faced the end of the corridor, where Chloe was heading anyway. "Now, now, it won't be that bad. Alright, I'll let you by for the night, but after you check your classes, you go right back to your common room, alright? If I catch you out here again, then I won't be so nice." She said. Chloe sniffled and nodded slowly.

Esmeralda nodded back, then went back on her rounds to find people breaking curfew. Chloe continued to the meeting, feeling triumphant. Mission Accomplished. Now, to get to the meeting... She thought as she turned the final corner and entered the Room of Requirement.

Reasons for wanting to join: DA is one of the things that Emma would be really want to do because of her dreams to be an Auror and I want to get involed in as many things as I can.


Role playing example:

Emma's fast footsteps echoed in the huge empty hallway as she nervously pondered what to say at her first DA meeting. Just relax She thought as she glanced at the sign on each door, checking for the room of requirement. She watched her shadow dance among the dim light from the moon that was shining down through the windowpane and glistening on the newly cleaned floor.

She took a deep breath and glanced behind her to make sure nobody was following her, and even though she saw nobody, she had an erie feeling that somebody was. She turned her head forward again and flipped her hair behind her shoulder and glanced out the window at the wide field below.

And just as she was going to continue walking, she heard footsteps echoing behind her, she quickly whirled around to find Trevor Kingsley, major snobb and co-head of the IS. Oh great just what I need. she thought as she tried to ignore him and picked up her pace to the classroom. Trevor quickly walked right in front of Emily a grabbed her arm to keep her from moving on. "Hello Miss Took, now what would a little 5th year be doing out in the vacant hallways at this time.

Emma hated it when people called her little, and Trevor knew this. She cracked her neck and tried to let the insult slide off her. "Just, out for a little evening stroll." She said with clenched teeth.

"Really?" Trevor said, not beliving Emma's Cherade.
" Are you sure? Sure your not looking for more invisible friends? No doubt you don't have any, you've got no real friends anyway." He smirked and her and tried to get her to burst, but Emma had seen his tricks before and she wouldn't budge. he wanted to catch her doing something wrong and so Emma made a point of avoding him.

"Sorry Trevor, I'm not talking to my invisible friends now, but I'm so sorry that girlfriend of yours left you because you were too, oh what was the word she used. Snobbish." She said with satisfaction."So sorry" A sarcastic puppy dog look crossedher face as a smile now formed at the corner of her lips. She tapped him on the nose like he was a little child and said "You'll just have to wait." She gave him a fake smile and continued on her way watching Trevor blush madly at a loss for words.

She let out a sigh of relif as soon as she turned a corner and rolled her eyes at Trevor's childish behavior. Finally, I wonder if Mara's in the DA Emma wondered as she finally found the Room of Requirement and quickly ducked inside.

Reasons for wanting to join: Joing DE.. Since The plot line for Alexandria's family it would be a major plot twist in Alex's life. ((Since Alexandria Father is a failed death eater and Alex is finishing his work etc.))

Example:

Alex walked into the ministry of Magic. She carefully read the note showing where she had to go. She walked over to the security desk and handed the officer her wand. Alex was feeling that she was going to make it through ok since they knew her father and knew who she was. What could possibly go wrong?

The guard looked at her wand suspiciously. Alex grew tense, trying to calm herself she continued to watch the guard check her wand. "Eh, there's something going on with your wand, I'm going to go get someone." he said. Shortly after he brought back another guard who was trying to see what was wrong.

"I don't get whats going on!" the guard said loudly. People around her stared at her and whispered. Alex grew more and more tense. She leaned against the table, moving her foot madly. I hope I don't blow my cover she thought to herself. Still leaning against the table she thought up with the best thing she could think of.

"I just got this wand, I've been having troubles with it ever since I got it, I was going to go see the shop about it after I made my stop here" she lied. The guard looked at her strangely. She tried to look as normal as possible. He wouldnt suspect anything would he, I mean people know me here, they know my dad, he couldnt suspect anything. she repeated to herself in her head.

The guard handed her the wand and gave her a smile. "Everything seems alright, you should really go have that looked at" he said. "Here ya go babe" he said smiling at her and handed her his wand. She grabbed it and set in her coat pocket contently.

"Thanks" she said. Walking into the elevator she looked back at her note and sighed with relief. Thank god it went well

Reasons for wanting to join: It is a part of who my charactor is, she has been a part of the DE sence joining the school.

DE Role-play example: The gaurd grabbed Nicole's wand, not letting it slip through her grasp, she turned her hand to tighten her grip. She looked up at the gaurd with solom eyes, "Is there a problem with my wand?" She looked around while waiting for a reply. People all over the minestry were looking at them now. Nicole released her grip on her wand, hoping that would help clear the crowd.

What is he doing now? Nicole thought as the gaurd placed her wand under the desk he was sitting at. There is nothing wrong with that wand, I haven't even used it yet... She contiuned to look at the gaurd, who still hadn't replied. "If it is a problem, can I just leave my wand here and go in? I am running late for an appointment about my living situations, which is something I really need to take care of." The gaurd continued to look at Nicole.

Someone started making a comotion outside about the use of magic. It was another "wizard against death eaters". He was yelling that the dementors should not work in the prizons due to the fact that that was were the captured death eaters were all stationed. The gaurd was alarmed by the comotion, and jumped up to see what it was about. As he ran outside Nicole thought to herself, Silly gaurd. Nicole then gave a little laugh as she grabbed her wand and run upstairs. I am glad I pre-planned a distraction! Nicole thought as she ran down the hall, Thanks Bruno!

Reason for Wanting to Join: Joining the DA would be perfect for Fiona. Ever since she could remember she had dreamed of becoming an Auror like both her parents and her older brother who is training. She is extremely poweful at defense spells (i.e of a higher standard than the rest of her age group) and so wants to make her attacking skills match up.]

"Why... hello! A little past curfew time is it not? I think I'll just have to take off a few house points!" Fiona gulped, she was already in trouble for being 20 minutes late to potions, she had been trying to be good lately so as to redeem herself. Remembering something she replied

"But your out after curfew as well! If you dont say anything and i dont, it'll be even!"

Face falling, Dale checked his watch, Fiona was right, his shift ended 10 minutes ago, nodding his head miserably he sloped off. Fiona frowned, it hadnt been the best plan, wasnt that what Dad always told her? Dont cut deals with the enemy. She shrugged and went on her way.
