Hey all!

For those of you that don't know I'm the Quiddich Ref here at HPU, and I'm here to once again begin the Quidditch season! As always I am going to start the thread with an introductory post detailing everything you will need to start you off!

Last years winners are Slytherin, with 635 points. I can't wait to see if anyone can beat that score this year!

The details of how Quidditch is played can be found here.

The positions in Quidditch are the same as in the books, 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, a Keeper and a Seeker. We are looking for one of each, plus a reserve or two who will stand in for any player, from each house. So thats up to 9 of you for all that can't count. :bleh: You will RP matches in the Quidditch Pitch forum, and also answer riddles and questions to gain points for your team. Yes, it really is that simple.

Those who want to join a quidditch team will have to try out, and the threads for this will be posted later on, but as for now I want to go over the requirements.

• Players must have been on site for at least 1 month before application, and must have a post count over 25. This is to make sure that you do actually RP on the board, and are not going to dissapear within a few weeks of joining.
• No one with warning points, or on Mod Watch may apply to be on a team.
• Players must be able to speak good and clear English, and not use net speak. Sorry people, but if other players can't understand you then matches really do go to hell!

And thats it! THe only other thing would advise is that the better your RP on the boards is, and the better your relationship with other members of HPU, the more chance you have of sucess!

Of course we love all of our students to be themselves, so please don't suddenly start running around and acting like the rainbow and flowers child of light, because you'll just get on my nerves. If your character is angsty, then RP them like that, but RP them well. There's nothing worse than someone who dosen't try!

Anyway, I need to eat, its something us humans do a lot. So, I shall leave you to ponder your situation, and be back later!

Congratulations to Slytherin on winning last term's Quidditch "Cup"! Your award has just been placed in the Trophy Room! As noted in the thread, please don't use that particular image in your signature. It's a bit too big. I have a smaller version of it available for both Slytherin and Ravenclaw (2003 champs) for signatures upon request.

Quick update here, as I am run off my feet with a baby.

I am going to take hard copies of the Quiddy threads away with me this weekend, so if anyone wants to apply they need to do it within the next 20 hours. When I get back on Mon/Tues I shall hopefully have some teams.

Sorry but i did go to the try-outs, i know we don't get along grand and you think im an idiot but i would really love to help out in the quidditch for hufflepuff since they are still short of members. so please let me join the team.

In order to really get yourself onto the team is to brush up on your role-playing skills, use capital letters, correct grammar, and spelling are an absolute must. Also it states in the rules above you must be an active member for one month at the least.

My apologies to all for the whole no updates in a month buisness, but I have been busy, and then ill. I did mean to get Quiddy sorted last week, but unfortunatly got caught up in other things, and then this week I came down with some strange hybrid flu that is currently sapping away my very soul. Or something equally dramatic...

Anyway. Could everyone please PM their team captains, you'll find out who they are from your locker rooms, or could team captain please start some form of topic in their locker rooms to make sure that the teams are still viable.

I need to know who is still active, and able to play, and I want this information by Monday. I realise I may not get it by then, but I hope to have at least 2 teams active and ready as then I can then get on with sorting out schedules next week, and hopefully start a match on the 10th.

So, please wiggle those deligtful fingers over your keyboard and let me know your teams are about! :happy:

Hey all!

I've reviewed my PMs, because as you know today is my cut off for Quidditch. All players that have not read my message automatically lose their place, and all those that didn't respond are being re-considered. I'm now going over the boards to look for recent posts by any non-replying member, and when I next post it will be with a list of those that have lost their places on their Quidditch team.

Well. Its been a while...

I've been trying to organize something for Quidditch, so that we could avoid waiting on people to join teams. Unfortunatly it hasn't entirely solved the problem. >_<

I'm waiting on some kind of reply from these members:

Aiden Savo
Audrey Luptowski
Awena Glory

They have not responded to my message even though they have been online and opened it, which is annoying to say the least. So, I shall re-PM these members today and give them a final chance to respond. If they do not respond after opening the message then I shall remove them from the teams.

Eden Conteh has recently moved, and as such I do not believe she will be continuing here, and Annie Black has also left HPU, leaving us with two Ravenclaw openings.

Aiden Savo and Audrey Luptowski have not responded to my message, but I have Slytherin members waiting to take their places. If the situation changes I will notify Slyths in their CR.

Awena Glory hasn't responded either, leaving us with one Huffie opening.

Anyone wishing to take up one of these positions can PM me within the next week (by March 7th) so that I can take a look at your RP.

OK guys and gals. Despite the best efforts of many members it seems that Quidditch is not going to happen right now for multiple reasons. As you know I've been struggling finding teams, and keeping them together when members simply go AWOL. So, I've decided to take a break and hold this years Quidditch season from June this year, hopefull catching all the students out there on Summer break and therefore making it less taxing on your time.

I've got the current team lists written down, current players will keep their titles, and be free to set up practice matches if they want to play for fun. If anyone wants to go one step further and sign their team up for some practice riddles and questions over the next month then let me know.

When June comes around most current players will be given first refusal of their positions as many of them have stuck by this through the troubles of the past months, and have been more patient than I would have been in their position. Those that are not going to definatly keep their places (for many reasons, including inactivity >_<) will be PMed at the end of April to let them know. They will be free to re-apply.

So to re-cap:

• Quidditch teams will be officially re-formed on June 1st.
• Most current players will keep their positions.
• Current players from all houses are free to use the Quiddy pitch for practice in private team threads, practice matches or free for all's.
• Teams are also free to PM me for practice riddles and questions for matches, or just some fun in their locker room.
• Members not keeping their positions will be PMed at the end of April.

Last, but not least, I'd just like you all to know that when June comes around I will not be accepting the shambles I got this term. Anoyone who joins a Quiddy team in June and misses matches, makes no match posts, dosen't answer PMs, disspears for weeks on end or simply goes completely AWOL will recive immidiate warning points. I will make sure I make that clear in every match and PM I send out in future.

Feel free to respond to this thread with thoughts.
