This is the 3rd straight to home dvd for hamtaro. I'm pretty sure that some of you played the 4th hamtaro game. The story for the OVA is totally different from the game.
It starts out in a castle. A lady on a throne gives Niji-Hamu-kun an order to set out and find "Ichiban Taisetsu Nomono Sagashite", or in english "The most important thing".
Hamtaro is at home, and kana drops by laura's house. Laura is gonna go out, and as usual, hamtaro is gonna head to the clubhouse. When hamtaro reaches the clubhouse, he is surprised to find that no one was at the clubhouse, not even snoozer was there. So hamtaro searches all over the park, and all of a sudden it starts raining. He run's for cover inside a tree. As he looks up, he sees a figure floating down by an umbrella. It's Niji-Hamu-Kun. He runs into the tree that hamtaro is in for cover, and they introduce themselves. It isn't exactly friendly. When it stops raining, Niji-Hamu-Kun starts to head out, but hamtaro wants to come along. Since he everyone else is gone, he wants someone to play with. He does get a little too friendly though.... Anyway, Niji-Hamu-kun creates a tornado from a rather musical incantation, and they are transported to another land. They now set out to find "Ichiban Taisetsu Nomono Sagashite".

I can't really decide which OVA is better, but this one is definately not a bad one. This would make a good release in the U.S, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was shown alongside with the release of the game here.

So in other words....This is kinda like Rainbow Rescue (the new GBA game) or something. The ham from it is in it.

Is it just me, or has Hamtaro got a bit skinnier?

what exactly is "the most important thing?" something good, something evil, what?

Well if this is like the game, then it's probably trying to collect stuff. But maybe some evil person is in it, that wasn't in the actual game. Maybe, Spat could be in it!

The game was about finding colors for Niji-Hamu-Kun's umbrella. The OVA is about his journey to find the "most important thing". It is a very vague mission, and he isn't too sure himself of what it is.

I wonder what it is then.....Maybe to have friends. Since he finds Hamtaro a bit too friendly. (see your sig pic Octacon)

Yeah he did find it. Being an anime for children and all, it was totally obvious from the beggining.
