Boss is in bed having a nightmare....
Dream Sequence
He is walking around in the rain, during a storm. He sees some garbage cans. He sees some crows fly away. Lightning strikes and a cat's shadow is shown.
:boss:: It's you. Not you again.
It shows a cat on the top of a can, it has many scars on it's body.
:boss:: Scarn.
Then it starts chasing after Boss.
:boss:: Help me somebody! Scarn is after me!
He sees the clubhouse entrance.
:boss:: Almost there...
He falls and the entrance is destroyed by lightning.
:boss:: No!
He turns around to see Scran come closer.
:boss:: Please don't hurt me.
The cat extends his claws and starts to swing at Boss. He screams and then he wakes up.
End Dream
He pants for a bit and looks to make sure he's okay.
:boss:: Only a nightmare. But it was real. Maybe it's almost time for me to, be caught.
In the morning....
:hamtaro:: Boss you look terrible.
Boss's eyes are all droopy.
:bijou:: What happened to you?
:boss:: I couldn't sleep well last night. I had a nightmare last night.
:howdy:: Nightmare? You mean you saw a horse at night? He he!
Everyone sweat drops.
:hamtaro:: What happened last night.
:boss:: Well, I was chased and caught by Scarn the cat.
:pashmina:: Scran? Who's Scran?
:boss:: What? You mean you don't know who Scarn is?
:pashmina:: Nope.
:boss:: Do you guys know about Scarn?
They shake their heads.
:boss:: Every field ham in Japan knows about Scarn the cat. He's the most terrible cat in Japan.
:sandy:: Sounds scary.
:boss:: No one knows where he came from, or why he was like this, but everyone knows that, he is a killer. He stalkes rodents of all kinds, including hamsters. Cause when his parents died, he was attacked by many rodents. The rest of his life, he started to have one major grudge againest the rodents. The scars on him was from his kitten days. Rodents have caused these wounds that never healed.
:dexter:: Sounds like this cat has a big mind for only targeting rodents.
:boss:: Anyway, he only comes out on stormy days, like the one on the day my parents were killed.
:bijou:: You saw Scarn?
:boss:: Yes. He was the one who made the scratch in my ear.
Everyone gasps.
:boss:: Whenever Scarn hunts, he uses stealth. And when the unexpecting victum finds out, he is already dead.
Everyone gasps, Penelope and Cappy get shaky.
:boss:: Those who saw Scarn never live without proof. And my ear cut is one proof. And somehow, the cut always leaves a scent of Scarn. So he'd always find the one with it. And I think that sooner or later, he'll get me next.
:hamtaro:: Poor Boss.
:maxwell:: He bears a terrible curse I'm afraid.
:boss:: The one to tell others about him was eventually killed. His ear was torned off from seeing Scarn for the first time. No hamster has escaped from him twice. He'll always get his meal.
:bijou:: How terrible.
:boss:: Well at least when we go out today it'll be sunny for the day. It won't rain or nothing. And I'm going to get the best acorns for this winter. For this is the last day to get them.
:hamtaro:: Um, Boss.
:boss:: What?
:hamtaro:: Laura said it's gonna storm afternoon so uh...
:boss:: What? It's gonna storm tonight?
:hamtaro:: Yeah.
:boss:: Great, so now if I go out and it starts to storm I might be eaten by Scarn, but then again I could just stay in here. But today is the last day to collect food before it is gone until spring. And I'm still low ever since Lemon stole them. I could either die of starvation, or die of an evil cat who I tried to avoid for who knows how long, and....
:oxnard:: Maybe we could bring you food during winter?
:boss:: It won't do. I gotta go get food now or else I'm gonna starve. I don't have a owner you know! Not everything you do is what I get.
:hamtaro:: Calm down Boss.
:boss:: I don't wanna reduce myself to a pack rat. I gotta go collect the food like everyone else and hope that nothing happens. But in case something does happen, I just wanna say, it's been nice knowing you guys.
He leaves.
:bijou:: I don't want him to be eaten by that cat. I don't wanna lose my love. We gotta do something.
Hamtaro thinks.
:hamtaro:: I got an idea.
Somewhere in town, the hamhams (except Boss) find Sabu (with the sells cart).
:sabu:: So you heard about Scarn the cat too huh? And you are willing to buy food from me so he have some for winter, and not worry about the storm tonight?
:hamtaro:: Please Sabu? Boss could get killed tonight if the storm hits before he gets back to the clubhouse.
:sabu:: Well I don't sell food, but I think I know a way to save him.
Hamhams: You do?
:sabu:: Check this out.
Pulls out some kind of japanese scroll.
:sabu:: This is a Cat Patch. This is something I got from my parents when I was a lad. They said that this can cover the scent of a cat that has been attached to you for a long time. All you do is attach the patch near the area with the scent and the scent is gone for as long as the patch is on.
Hands it to Hamtaro.
:sabu:: I don't garentee it will work. But that's why I'm giving it to you for free. Boss is a pretty good friend to me, and we field hams have to stick together.\
:hamtaro:: Thanks Sabu!
:sabu:: No problem Hambone.
:hamtaro:: It's Hamtaro!
Later with Boss, who is picking acorns, it starts getting cloudy.
:boss:: Running out of time. Gotta get these last few acorns and I'll be heading back.
The hamhams come.
:hamtaro:: Boss!
:boss:: Huh?
They come to him.
:boss:: What's up?
:hamtaro:: Sabu gave us this patch to help you. He says it can prevent Scarn from finding you.
:boss:: Really?
:hamtaro:: You did say that he follows the scent from a long way during a storm.
:boss:: Okay.
:hamtaro:: Wrap the patch around your ear since the cut is there.
Boss does so.
:boss:: I think it's working. I don't smell Scarn's scent on my ear anymore.
:howdy:: At least until you take the patch off.
:boss:: Thanks you guys.
:bijou:: Why don't we help you get some acorns before it storms.
:boss:: Really?
:hamtaro:: Good idea. Come on everybody!
Later it starts to rain.
:boss:: The storm's a coming! Let's get out of here.
They start heading back to the clubhouse. Bijou slips on some water heading into an alley on a slope.
:boss:: Bijou!
He goes after.
:hamtaro:: Hang on!
He too, the others just watch in horror. Bijou slides nearly into a sewage vent, and but is hanging on to a bar.
:bijou:: Help!
:boss:: Hang on!
He and Hamtaro stop sliding.
:hamtaro:: We'll save you.
They pull her to safety.
:bijou:: Oh thank you.
She hugs Boss.
:hamtaro:: That was close.
:boss:: Hey, where's my patch?
They see the patch fall into the sewage pipe.
:boss:: There goes the patch.
Then the storm hits.
:boss:: This is not good.
Lightning hits and Scarn appears on a garbage can.
:boss:: It's..it's...Scarn!
Scarn makes a loud meow.
:hamtaro:: We gotta get out of here!
:bijou:: Come on Boss, let's leave.
:boss:: It's no good for me. No hamster ever escapes him a second time.
Scarn jumps towards them, they start running.
:boss:: It's no good. I'll just turn his attention to me.
:bijou:: But you might be killed.
:boss:: Just go!
He slows down a bit.
:boss:: All right. I'm not gonna let you scare me. You can take me, but not my friends!
Scarn just runs past him.
:hamtaro:: It ignored Boss?
:bijou:: Now it's after us.
:boss:: Why is it after them? .... It must of been the patch. It still hid the scent. And Scarn doesn't know I have it. And he's going after them!
Bijou trips. Hamtaro gets in front of her.
:hamtaro:: Hang on!
Scarn begins to pounce. Boss sidekicks him to the wall.
:hamtaro:: Boss!
:bijou:: You're okay!
:boss:: The patch was still working. That's why it was after you.
Scarn gets up.
:boss:: Bring it on!
Scarn tries to scratch Boss, but no avail. Boss clamps his teeth into Scarn's ear. He don't let go for a bit. He lands on his feet.
:boss:: You two run!
They run up the dry slope next to the slippery one.
:pashmina:: What's going on down there?
:hamtaro:: Boss is fighting Scarn.
They gasp.
:bijou:: I don't want him to die. I gotta go back there.
:sandy:: Hold on. You shouldn't go down there. That cat is crazy.
:stan:: Yeah man. If you go down there you too will be eaten.
:bijou:: But I love Boss. I can't let him die like this. He doesn't deserve this.
She slides back down.
:hamtaro:: Bijou!
Back with Boss, he is knocked to the wall. The cat comes and scratches Boss in the ear, the same and exact spot he scratch when Boss was a kid. Boss screams in pain. The cat was about to cut Boss in half when Bijou knocks a can down onto Scarn.
:bijou:: Leave Boss alone you bad cat!
:boss:: Bijou! No.
Scarn hits her with his tail. Boss gets up and charges toward Scarn. He hits Scarn in the side and they both fall into an open sewage vent that they both fall in.
:bijou:: Boss!
A splash is heard. The hamhams slide down.
:hamtaro:: Bijou, where's Boss?
She just looks at him and puts her head down and shakes it slowly.
:howdy:: He went down the drain.
Everyone starts crying, especially Bijou, who puts her head onto Hamtaro.
:hamtaro:: He was a good friend. He didn't deserve this.
A few seconds later.
:boss:: Hey Hamtaro!
:bijou:: Boss?
They go to the vent, they see Boss hanging onto a piece of grass.
:boss:: I'm not dead! I'm well alive!
:bijou:: He's alive!
Everyone is happy.
After pulling him up.
:bijou:: Oh Boss! That was so scary! I thought I never see you again!
Hugs him.
:boss:: I thought so too.
A few seconds...
:hamtaro:: The sky's clearing!
The sun shines. Sabu comes by with his cart.
:sabu:: Hey now, what's going on?
:hamtaro:: Boss just defeated Scarn!
:sabu:: No way. Got any proof?
:boss:: Owchichi. My ear.
:bijou:: Oh let me see.
:boss:: Scarn must of reopened the wound that he cause on my ear.
:sabu:: Don't worry. In a few days it should be fine again.
:boss:: Really?
:sabu:: Well... for a small fee, I could sell you some quality A bandages.
Everyone laughs.
:boss:: (Mom, Dad, if only you could of seen me now.)

The was great. Scarn seems like a prefect villen. Like, the only cat to scare Elko. (Well, maybe. He would scare her to make it work for the story. :kushi: )
I liked it. I didn't expect Boss to actually hang on when the cat is sent into the drain, it was really well written too!
