Title: Hmmm.

I'm going to have quite a lot of time on my hands this coming semester (primarily because I read extremely fast, and most of my M.A. work will be reading), and since I discovered a scanner at school, I think I will start a comic strip. It's something I've always wanted to do, but didn't really know what to base it on. These little guys are fairly easy to draw, so why not? I've got enough strange things running through my mind to make it half-way interesting, anyway....I've drawn some character models this past week in boredom (front, side, and back views), but were kinda done without much care for detail. It won't look too professional, because they will be made on typing paper with colored pencils (I have nothing else). Say, I gotta question, for those knowledgable on such things.....if I draw it in black and white, and scan it, is there a program out there that I can color it with?

Yeah, but art programs bite. Er, they bite me. ^_^ I dunno, there's a whole bunch of colouring programs... Paint Shop Pro, Painter, Adobe Photo Shop, and if you're really desperate, MS Paint.

MS paint stinks, but it's the only thing I've got.

Yes, MS Paint sucks.
There are those programs that I use. You could buy one called Painter 7, that comes with water paint tools, different brush strokes, the whole works. BUT.. It's anywhere between $400 to $500 US. Don't bother trying backdoor ways either, such as Kazaa. It'll come out horrible and messed up like mine. I suggest Paint Shop Pro 7. I'm not sure how much it was, but it works very well. There's brush sizes, touch ups such as lighten, darken, dogde, burn, etc. It's very useful for shading and extra detail. It's also quite fun.
Here's something I did as a Wolfhome pose on Paint Shop Pro...
