I've seen that this forum is kind of dead lately, so I thought I'd get it kicking back into action (Or I'll try, at least...o.0)
Who is your favourite character from the HP books. It can be anyone, animals included. If your post is to contain spoilers, please put *SPOILER* on the top of your post, in case someone hasn't read it yet...I dunno, I'm overly cautious with things like this...But I wouldn't want to spoil HP5 for anyone, or have it spoiled for me if I haden't read it...so...here goes!
My favourite characters include Sirius Black and Severus Snape.
I love Sirius and have forever since we met him in the third book. He is a great character to learn about an look at. He is really a good guy and is, of course, a convicted murderer. I'll stop now, so as to not get into spoilers.
Snape is also a great charatcer. I know, I know, he and Sirius are mortal enemies...but you can't help loving Snape. He's such a serious guy, and so mean to poor Harry. But there's something about him that draws him to me...the secritivity of him or something.
I have so many more characters that I love, but these are my all time favourites. Who do you like best?

Ah yes, it has been quiet lately. Too many students out playing in the snow rather than coming into a warm classroom for some lively discussion. :D
I must admit that I too am drawn to the mysteries of Snape. I don't doubt his devotion to Dumbledore but his actions are full of contradictions and hidden motives. I'm excited to see how he turns out.
I think the twins were at their best in OoTP. Ya'll read the books and you know why!
And Harry just shines in book 5! With brothers of similar age, I know that Rowling's new Harry is incredibly on the mark. The new depth to his character is wonderful.
When I first started reading the books, I quickly picked a favorite...the hilarious Quidditch commentator Lee Jordan. I loved his wild attitude and blatant bias. He's still my favorite despite being less seen lately.
But right behind him is Neville! Again, what can be said. The best way to know Neville is to read about him and just imagine his life. There's so much pain hidden in Neville but there's so much strength. Here's a character to watch!
I have to agree with the Professor!
I have always loved Lee Jordan. He's quite the addition to the twins in humour, timing, and general good-natured foolishness.
I also love Neville. He is much stronger than he thinks. I can't wait to see what J. K. is going to do with his character.
My latest fave is Luna. She is a riot. I also think that both she and Neville balance out our main three in many ways.

I would have to say my favorite character in the Harry Potter series would beSirius Black. He has been my favorite ever since book three. I so agree about Snape though, he has a very mysterious charcter and I am thrilled to find out what happens to him.
I guess Sirius was my favorite because he was a mysetry at first, we really knew nothing about his character. Plus, many main characters usually appear in book one, so when he was introduced into book three, it was another part of Harry's past being revealed. Im just sorry that he had to leave so soon, I was really hoping for a future between him and Harry in the end of the series. Let's just hope something good comes out of this.
