Title: Class Guidelines
Description: Rules and Ideas (updated as necessary)

Prof. Darlene Baker - August 18, 2003 05:35 AM (GMT)
First and foremost, all rules governing behavior at HOL apply to this class. If you say it in that forum, please don't say it here.

Please pay special attention to these rules:

1) Value the opinions and ideas of your classmates. This is a small collection of different house members but all here for the same reason. Remember this and give them respect, whether you think they deserve it or not.

2) Cheating will NOT be tolerated. If you have a question on a lesson, please contact me so I can guide you in the right direction.

3) Replies in the forum that would not pass for a complete sentence will be considered spam. I encourage bold speaking of any quality as long as you're putting your energy into it.

4) A variation of rule one: level 1 students are your fellow classmates. Atlas and I share this space and share our devotion to both classes.

I hope I will not have to add this this list. I look at my class list and recognize many names that I respect as hard-working students. I don't expect any improper behavior, but I don't want it to go unsaid.

WHAT IS GOOD! These are things that I would love to see in this class. This is what will earn you the most points, and more importantly, give you and the rest of the class a good experience.

1) The big point questions on homework are those problems which ask for your opinion. Don't give me what you think I want to hear, give me what you believe. Back it up with evidence and I will be a happy, point-giving professor.

2) Make friends with the forum. I don't like a quiet classroom. Feel free to start posts that may have any relevance to what we're learning. Whether its HP-related or a movie that resembles the month's lesson, either are welcome. Discussion is what will make this class great instead of just decent and as long as the post is more than 2 words and in the right section, I won't have any problem with it.

That's all for now. I'll update as things come to me.

Professor, I was wondering, are we allowed to participate in the HP Book Analysis 1 discussions?

Oh and *grins* I'll be good

I've been needing to talk to Atlas about a section that both classes can share but for right now it needs to be separate. Especially when it comes to formal discussions since they're learning for the first time what we covered yesterday. But I'll work on an informal space where everyone can talk.
