The year is coming to an end and so must this class. It's been such a privilege working with all of you this year! To all the students who stuck with the class the whole year I congratulate you! You deserve to graduate and go onto your next year at HOL. I just hope you take all that you have learned from this class and apply it to everyday activities. Every time you pick up a book, even if it's not a Harry Potter book, I hope you can use your skills to analyze everything you read. There is only so little you can get from actually reading, you have to look beyond the words and analyze what is being said, that will give you, the reader, a fonder understanding of what the author intended you to experience. With that said, I wish you all the best of luck and have a wonderful summer! B)
The Final
In two or more paragraphs (eight or more sentences) summarize what you have learned this year in HP book Analysis 1 class. You can talk about the different analysis techniques you learned or some interesting facts about the Harry Potter book you learned. You could even talk about the lessons you enjoyed the most or the lessons you wish we would have discussed.
Due: 20th June, 2004
Worth: 30 points
Please Include your HOL-Name and ID
Might I add, if you are looking to join HP Book Analysis 2 next year, it is required that you take this final. Or if this is your only class, you must take this final to assure your promotion to the next school year at HOL. If none of these apply to you, then you could just take the final to help your house win the house cup this term :) Wouldn't that be nice?
Extra Credit (Optional)
From all the e-mails I have received, I understand that many of you were looking for some extra credit, to make up for no lesson or assignment last month. Im willing to help you out there. I know points are such a big deal at this point, with the school term coming to an end and the house cup is up for grabs. For May I was going to ask each student to pick out one chapter from their favorite Harry Potter book. As you re-read that chapter, I want you to analyze everything that is going on within the chapter. Analyze the characters, the setting, the main idea, climax, colors, background, surroundings, objects, animals, etc. There is so much you could analyze but I ask that you limit yourself to one or two paragraphs ( 4- 8 sentences).
Due Date: June 20th
Worth: 30 Points
Please be sure to include The name of the book, the chapter, and your HOL-Name and ID.
