Prof. Nina Atlas - March 23, 2004 01:42 AM (GMT)
Hello Wonderful Students!

First off, I would like to say thank you to all who participated in the HP Book Challenge this year. You are all just talented students and it was a pleasure working with you.

I was surprised by all the different answers I received for character number one. So let's run through each clue.

Clue # 1A (Mystery Character Number one)
My hair is the color of the never ending space, that lurks high above our heads. Not even the orb that turns man into wolf can change the color of my hair.

Answer: Black

Clue # 2A (Mystery Character Number two)
I was sorted on the same night as Harry Potter himself. I bear the colors of yellow and black.

Answer: A hufflepuff student

Clue # 1B (Mystery Character Number one)
I am an animagi, I transform when I see it is necessary and sometimes just for fun.

Answer: Many of you made a list of all the animaji, such as Sirius, James, Peter, Minerva, and Rita. The real answer was Minerva McGonagall, who transforms into a tabby cat.

Clue # 2B (Mystery Character Number two)
My Mother's name is Amelia.

Answer: This was a bad clue, but it seems everyone got the point. I was not sure if Amelia Susan Bones, was the Mother or the Aunt of Susan Bones.

Clue # 1C (Mystery Character Number One)
"Are you quite sure you wouldn't like a cough drop, Dolores?"

Answer: Professor Minerva McGonagall is quoted here.

So Professor Minerva McGonagall is our first mystery character. In book one they mentions that she has black hair and is a registered animaji. This may have thrown many of you off because in the movie she has reddish hair.

That means our second mystery character is Susan Bones. A member of Hufflepuff, sorted on the same night as Harry. Who also has a relative by the name of Amelia Susan Bones.

Congratulations to our winners!!!!

First Place (30 points each): "Did they want her cat?!"
Sindor Aloyarc and Hari O'Duibhleargain

Second Place(15 points): Tinu en'isilme
Mirabella Nevlómë

Third Place(5 points): Zebra-Striped Nail Polish
Amanda Taylor

Once again, thank you all for participating. I hope we can make the HP Book Challenge a yearly event at HOL!

Congrats to all winners!
I think this was really fun, and yes, we should try to make this a yearly event! :)

For example, I recall a few times in the book when she would transform infront of the class, the class appluaded and what not. Also she transforms into her cat figure and sits at her desk, spying on the new students (Like when Ron and Harry come to transfigurations class late on the first day.)
