Title: Hp Book Challenge

Prof. Nina Atlas - February 22, 2004 02:36 PM (GMT)
It's time for the Second Annual HP Book Challenge!

What is the HP Book Challenge? Well, starting March first, students can sign up to take place in the second annual HP book challenge! This is a game of wit and wisdom, be the first person or team to solve each clue and win big! The goal of this challenge is to fit all the clues together to solve for the two mystery characters! The first team that can solve all their clues and reveal the mystery characters wins! If this sounds like something you might be interested in, then get ready to sign up!

For more information, please visit this page http://www.geocities.com/amesse3483/HPBookChallenge.html

Another good point mentioned, all HPBA students can participate, so first and second years feel free to bond in this exciting challenge!

Sign up's will end on Saturday, March 6th.
The game will start on Monday, March 8th.
So far there are a total of thirteen teams, last year we had nearly twenty. I am hoping we can convince more people to participate.

I have decided to change the award system around a bit.
~ First Place will earn 30 points
~ Second place will earn 15 points
~ Third place will earn 5 points

That's not bad considering all you have to do is know your HP characters.

*I am also looking for someone to design the HP Book Challenge trophies. I will need three diffrent ones, a first place trophy (maybe gold), a second place trophy (silver) and a third place trophy (bronze possibly). If anyone is interested please send in an sample of your work, along with you hol name and ID. Points will be awarded to whom ever is selected.*

Thank you all!

Dearest HPBA Students,

Maybe I did not make myself clear. There is no need to guess the answer to each clue, so there is no need to send me the name of who you think it is. The goal is to collect two clues each week, hold unto them and read them over and over again. You will receive two clues each week, one on Monday and one on Friday. The clues I send on Monday pertains to the first mystery character. The clues I send on Friday pertain to the second mystery character.

If at some point (maybe after you have been given enough clues to back up who you think these mystery characters are) then you may submit ONE e-mail to me. If I find that your guess is incorrect you are withdrawn from the game. So to assure that you are not withdrawn from the game due to guessing the wrong character, please wait to e-mail me until you receive more clues.

Sorry if I confused anyone, I should have been more clear, I just didn't have this problem last year. So to all that have sent me an e-mail with their guess, I have thrown them out and you are still in the game, just be warned =)

Please note I will send two clues each week, for at the minimum three weeks. If no one can guess the characters by then, I will just keep sending out more clues. :)

*blech* I forgot to log in again, so I can't edit that post.

Anyways:

In the rules it says to send in the character names *and* the answer to the clues... There are *answers* per say? To each clue? O_o

How does that figure out? And is there an example, or something?

Tes,
-Sindor

That the answer to the question Sindor... You send it, but if you are wrong...

You can either be taken out of the game or wait until prof. atlas emailed you permission again... If you wanna take a gamble? Go ahead ;) (Edited by Prof.Atlas, I will not be granting anyone permission to guess more than once.)

And you second question, just send it as

Mystery character 1: [your answer]
Mystery character 2: [your answer]

make sure you include you (and your partners) name and Id too ;) via email...

hopefully that answered your question...

Okay to clear up everything. There is no need to send in answers to each clue, i made a mistake when I wrote that.

You can only make one guess, if that guess is incorrect you will be taken out of the game. This means you must have both of the charaters name's right. If every team makes a wrong guess, then I will let everyone have a second chance to guess.

*BIG HINT* Also one other thing, please do not base the characters on how they are portrayed in the movies. Be sure to read the books description of each charcter you think it may be. ;)
