Title: The New Year Brings New Topics!
Description: New lesson ideas?

Well, it is the New Year! I hope everyone had a splended holiday.

Well, since book five came out over the summer, many of my lessons from last year had to be squashed, so I have started from scratch. This means I am open to suggestions! What are some topics you would like to go indepth with? I know many of you wanted to learn more about book five. It's such a big book, I just need some suggestions so I can narrow it down.

I've also noticed that the majority of the students in this class (including I) say their favorite book is "Prisoner of Azkaban". Maybe we could go deeper into that book as well.

Im open to suggestions :)

Whoo! I'm not taking this class, but I loved the class last year where we learned about some of the character's names. I don't know if you already did this, but there are a bunch of new characters, such as Luna Lovegood, Dolores Umbridge, not to mention all of the people in the Wizengamot, and the members of the Order. Perhaps you could analyze them somehow ^_^ I'm at school right now, but I listed all the new characters...the list is somewhere at home, and I can edit when I find them. =)

Forever,

Hey Ella!

We did do character analysis, yet I allowed the students to look up the new characters in the fifth book. Maybe I could do an analysis on the new characters! Godo Idea! B)

something that I have noticed, and like in the hp series is the way the books tend to be progresively darker. Also, how charactes actually grow up within the series.
and how the story (and Harry's world) keeps expanding. For instance the first book is more Harry discovering he is a wizard, but all of the events take place in Hogwarts, same for book two. Then in Book three we visit Hogsmeade, in Book Four it is the Quiddtich Arena, discovering a bit of the world of wizards, not only from Britain but worldwide. (Not including Book five for spoiler reasons)
