If what I think you want is what yu want then it's completely impossible but if what I think you want isn't what you want then explain what you want a lil' better.

nah Im talking about writing to file so when someone plays my game they can save where they are up to and go back when ever they want. but I want the saving and loading like when you save and open your project in gamemaker.

F5 to save.
F6 to load.

use the load game and save game functions...

Gary - September 7, 2003 06:11 AM (GMT)
no I've tried that and its not good enough for my game.
I need it in code.
but what I want to do is when they are saving they can call the file what ever they choose and when they are loading a game they pick a game from the folder.
do you get what I mean?

yeah i think so you mean like you have a list so as a example

SAVED GAMES PLEAE SELECT YOUR GAME TO LOAD

-saved game
-saved game
-empty
-empty
-empty
-empty
-empty
-empty
-empty
-empty

do you mean something like that?

Carl has a good save and load example. It can be found on Carl's Website under the examples page. i dunno if it's the kind of save and load example you need, but it does use scripts so.... yeah....
