Title: Wierd Theories
Description: Theories about stuff in that place......
kix - April 12, 2003 04:05 AM (GMT)
Well this topic is about wierd theories (yah you've figured it out) about everday life my first one is called the grandfather theory.
Ok so your great-great grandfather was in the civil war, and was barely hit in the head by a cannonball, it knocked him out for three days, but he eventually recovered and went on to get laid and eventually you came to exist.
Well you decided that because your grandfather was fighting for the south, you should go back and kill him (i dont know why but just go with it), so you go back in time and change the trajectory of the cannon the slightest bit, and it kills him.
Here is the wierd part.
But if you killed him then you never could have existed, but if you never existed you could not have gone back in time and killed him so he would have lived, and then you would have been born and then you would have killed him, but then you wouldnt exist.........
and so on. According to this theory reverse time travel can not occur. I hope you can understand my translation. I heard this a few months ago on TechTV and thought i should pass it on.
P.S. dont eat ice cubes before typing alot, i have been shivering the whole time but those icecubes where delicous.
OK so anyway post your theories and responses to others

what if the world is a little game or test and other people are game pieces, everyone but you (because you know your not) but the world actually revolves around you and no one else is real. everyone else is just things that respond to your actions. Just a wierd thought.

oh yeah, sorry to double post but i got another
what if everone sees colors differently. say what you think of as brown to you is bright green to someone else, but we all call it brown. we could never know how other people see the world. imagine what the world would look like with completely different colors.
ps- i know that this is impossible

OK lunchbox, to reply to your first post, i thought of that theory when i was little, but i was losing the game and I thought that people where going to slide back the vertical part of the stairs (not the part that you step on), and give me an injection in my ankle that would kill me
Second
Scientist used MRI's to prove that different people see colors differently, it has to do with racial background i think.
and third
come over tonight about 5:30 fingertapper will be there too.

What if some people are always hurting like a little more than some people. like their whole body aches a little more than everyone, but they dont notice it. I think i had this discussion with someone else but forgot who it was.

yeah i was thinking about that... what might be like no pain at all to someone could be a lot of pain to sombody else... i dont know
kix - April 13, 2003 04:24 AM (GMT)
I was thinking about this...
What if you spent your whole life in pain, but because it was always there you couldnt tell, and then one day you took a pill and it went away, wouldnt that be awesome!
eskimo - April 13, 2003 03:00 PM (GMT)

if jesus can do anything than can he microwave a burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?
FingerTapper - April 13, 2003 10:43 PM (GMT)
jesus' mind is far too advanced for any of us. so yes he could do both of that at the same time somehow, we just dont know how :shifty:
lunchbox - April 14, 2003 12:07 AM (GMT)
youve got your thoughts in the right place but i think that...
Jesus could microwave a burrito to hot to eat for him because he is both man and God. thats what is so great about him. he knows the pains and limits of us humans because he WAS one. But he was also perfect because he was God. He is 100% god and 100%man.

Dude i thought of the "other people are just game pieces that respond to you" theory, but i'm sure everyone has thought about that though. BUT i did it first. Oh and i got another one. Doesn't it seem like solar systems are shaped like atoms. What if they are. And we just make up something huge. LIKE GOD! Holy crap, i just thought of that. Maybe thats it. Maybe all of the solar systems make up God.
