Band bio
Thrice come from Irvine, California and have been together for four years since August 1998. Dustin and Teppei went to high school together, and had played in a band together before. It didn't last very long but the two of them still wanted to play together and soon started a new band. Eddie, whom Teppei knew from skating, said he wanted to play bass and joined on as the bassist (though he had never played bass and had only minimally played guitar.) The search for a drummer led us to recruit Eddie's older brother Riley, who had played drums in Madrise and sung in a band called Hindsight.
After a few practices together, we knew that we had the right people in place, and in August of '98, Thrice was born. A year after the band were first born they recorded their first full length album, which was originally released on Green Flag records. "Identity Crisis" was then re-released in March 2001 on Subcity Records. Their current album "The Illusion of Safety" was released in May 2002 on Subcity records. They have recently signed to Island records and are currently practising and writing new material.

Dude, it only took them one year to write enough songs for a full-length album. Crap they're good. Oh and ross that is really stupid.

Kinz - June 26, 2003 02:25 AM (GMT)
i was thinking that too..about how it only took a year to write that cd. its really good. one year is not along time to write a cd when you have only been playing for that long.
