I love this series, and decided to start a real thread for it, even though I think we had one that got deleted cuz it sat dormant too long. O.o Oh well!!

Seriously, I can NOT wait for this manga to start being released here in the States. The story is that much more involved, and the plotline that much more intriguing that in the tv show.. and the tv show is FRICKING awesome! I really hope, that for that, they do either an OAV series when the manga ends, or a complete second season! Though, they left some important things out in the anime. Sad Sad.

What series has more interesting characters, stories, psychoticness, and beautiful men? Ok well, Yami no Matsuei is a close one.. but STILL!! ;) Fruba also has Tohru, who is the glue holding everything in it together. She tries so hard to be strong because she promised her mother she would, but inside you KNOW that the girl has issues. Who wouldn't? I know I'd be horrified and absolutely crushed if my mother died the way hers did, and her not being able to tell her mother to have a safe day, the day she died. SAD!!

And doesn't Yuki just make all you fangirls who dig a Prince melt??? ANd Kyo!! doesn't he just make you wanna huggle him till all the pain goes away? Not to mention, of course, Ayame.. heh. Him I wanna.. well.. we won't go into that here. ;D heeee. Just kidding.

Anyhow, there ya go.. that's as deep as I can go with this series at the moment. It's late and I'm tired and want to go to bed! =)

I LOVE Furuba!! (Just like a bunch of other shows). I also can't wait until the manga is out (February 2004)

The manga is still going and it is fun trying to figure out how things will end.

Will the curse be resolved? Will Tohru even end up with anyone? What exactly is the deal with Kureno? What does Shigure have up his sleeve?

So many unanswered questions. But as I watch or read it I don't care. I get obsorbed Furuba. It is like I live in the Furuba moment. :lol:

And besides, what other show can I loan to a friend from Spain and a friend from Mexico who absolutely love it? B) I don't know. They aren't anime people...but they both adore this show.

Although I haven't read the manga...from what I hear it's comin' out in February 2004 :P ...but the anime is considerably wonderful. A deep plot with lots of humor, well developed characters, and much bishi-goodness, too! One of my favorite animes! Something for everyone! So add Fruba to your basket!

OH YEAH! When the manga comes out im going to rade the book store! I love this series also and i'm so glade you put this fourm up no-chan :D I hope the second seasons as good as the first one. I gotta see kyo^-^

dude! how could i not have posted on this thread?! i LOVE furuba... *hugs it* wait... that might not be a good idea.... um...

anyway, my friend arloth first intro'd me to it, i only saw the first couple eps and thought it was cool, but kinda strange. then my other friend sarah bought the hong kong dvds, so i got to see Haru!!! yay cows!!!! but then she moved, so i didn't get to see past the eps with haru... but THEN someone burned them for me... who was it... don't remember, but then i watched all the fansubs and felt all warm and mushy inside. it's just that kind of series. leaves you feeling warm. anyway, i love the art, the characters are sooo much fun, they're all different and i like them all for different reasons. (except akito, i want to impale his stupid head on a stick...) yeah... cool series, love it to pieces.

Fruits Basket is pretty good.

I own all of the manga that is currently released (all 11 volumes) and I've been reading translations of the chapters that have been being released in Hana to Yume.. But I still want to support this series, so I'll definitely be buying the american release.
The main point of this whole game is to support the local releases, so that we can get more, and better quality stuff released here in the States.
I'm sure many people have read the scanslations that were out before Tokyopop announced that they had acquired Fruba, and I'm thankful for the translations that I've been having, cuz I don't think I could wait for a few MORE years for the end of this series.
But anyway.. yeah ;)

If a manga or anime has been licensed for the North American region there will be no discussion on how to get it illegally on this message board.

oke oke...see, my friend made me research about Fruba cuz she's lasy and dosen't want to research about it....though she's seen mo eps than me, i was in US when they were airing it in Taiwan...sux...i missed it all....when i suddenly realized that there were no horse or chicken! which made me mad and cry (not really) cuz imma horse, and there's no horse. same thing went when i read Strings of Fate...actually, Yima appeared in one page...oke, ignore that sentence...no wait, ignore all the strings of fate stuff...So i made a chart thing! actually its easy to make. blah blah blah.

I believe by the time the anime just finished airing was when the horse was shown and the chicken/rooster was shown.... what about 6 months ago....maybe a little longer than that.

The horse is Rin (Haru's girlfriend...even though she broke it off so he wouldn't be hurt, but he is trying to get her back! She has this huge scar on her back from being pushed out of a window by Akito.) :lol:

The chicken/rooster is Kureno ... but since he has never transformed yet there is a THEORY/RUMOR (I stress that this is not official... it is a theory/rumor) that Akito (the god) may be the real rooster and Kureno be the god of the juunishi (and Uo likes him... ;) and Tohru is trying to get them to see each other again. - Not much is known about him, he is always at Akito's side and so far no glimpse into a personality or anything yet.... when he is with Uo he has more of a personality :lol:

Fruits Basket is cool. ^_^ My non-otaku friend is currently making plans for her wedding to 'Gure-kun! Then, after the wedding, she's gonna be all "Here. Buy something." and give Yuki and Tohru a bunch of money, and they'll leave. Then she's gonna make Kyou marry Kagura or a fangirl after a while and move out. Or maybe he'll follow Tohru. Who knows. Anyway, she plans to live happily with Shigure until that tragic day that will go something like this:
Kate: *comes home* I'm HO~OME, SHIGURE!
Shigure: *in some other room* Welcome home! I'll be out in a minute, i just need to finish writing this page...
Kate: Okay! *opens the closet to hang her coat*

I just saw Fruits Baskets. That is some funny stuff. I love the concept of people turning into animals. I like the snake. He's such a cute letch. He just turns into a snake at the most opportune to get into girls shirts. That's gotta tickle

WOOT! I love Fruits Basket, but it's soooooooooooo difficult to get hold of in the UK, and will my mother understand my dire need for this series and purchase me it over the internet? NO, no of course not! SHe doesn't seem to realise that it's a life or death situation.
I could, of course, get my own credit card, being old enough and all that, but if I had a credit card, I would end up so deeply in debt from buying all the anime that I want... and I'm already in debt... so... I have to suffer withdrawal from it <cries for a long time> I miss Shigure! <cries some more>

Fruits Basket is great! You really have to read or see it Lazy Gurl. It's sooo good. I have the two mangas in English and I saw the 3 & 4th DVD of the anime. Eventually I'll see the 1st two of the anime...hehe. maybe. But you should see it or at least read it! It's completely worth it!! Seriously, it really is. I think I'm repeating myself now...I think I'm gonna take a cat-nap. Byes!

The manga is $10 each...here anyways (NY) It's great! There are 6 chapters in each book. I have two so I've read 12! YAY! They came out with it earlier than I expected. On Tokyo Pop, they said release date was like April 15, and I got it two days ago which was March 26th... That's a BIG difference. Not that I'm complaining or anything. The sooner the better, now I know not to go by exactly their dates. The anime is...hmm... $25 for each dvd, I think. I didn't buy any. I was with my friend awhile ago and she got it, then we watched it at her house. I was psyching her up about seeing Ayame for the first time. He's so much like the character based on her, it's not even funny. She fell completely in love with him when she first saw him...she loves guys with long white hair (though it kinda look light gray at times)

that is really funny...but I don't think there are many guys that have long white hair...

Well, I was talking about Bishounen. I thought you knew that. Actually I know a real kid (I say kid out of habit, he's my age or a year older) with real white hair that is shoulder length and it's his natural color. He also has red eyes... can you guess what he is? Yea, but he's cool. I'm working on scaring him. I know a kid with shoulder-length black hair. I pet him all the time, I love his hair! I don't think he likes when I do it cause I hardly know him. lol Anyways! Still, you should buy Fruits Basket. I'm sure you have at least $10 on you, or you can swindle it from your parents or friends. It's worth it, you'll see ^_^

yay! i finally read the first manga & saw the first dvd! i feel happy!but of coatse i hadf to watch them with my best friend Bob, so naturally, we had to rewind and watch classic moments like in the ep with kagura, when he pulls the popping vein from nowhere :lol: i especially like the ep when Uo and hana sleep over, and everyone keeps changing back and forth :lol: :lol: :lol: im still cracking up as im writing this :D

Sorry, I feel really stupid that I got that mixed up, oh well ^_^ I know it must get annoying when people mix things like that up. Well, I think I'm going to borrow the 3 and 4th dvd from my friend so I can watch Ayame in the dress again. lol I'll have to show it to my brother, he'll be like "What the..." But I like the 3rd dvd. I'm proud to say I got the first volume of fruits basket! YAY! I love it sooo much! Rin doesn't show up till volume... 8 maybe? at the VERY very end. She's the other female juunishi member. The horse, and a very angry one, at that! She's definitely not in the show. They didn't get to her or Kureno (the rooster).. She's very beautiful though! Really Gothy.. like Haru! (YAY!!!)
Haru DID say that Yuki was his first love.. so possibly, he's bisexual. But the important thing RIGHT NOW is that he's in love with Rin. *nods*

I got the new artbook!!!!!!!!! It's so pretty! there is this really cute chibi picture of Hatori, Shigure, and Ayame... so cute! It has a lot of pictures that are frequently found on the web, but it has some that aren't. The cover alone is gorgeous!!!

Yay! That's cool Nie-chan. I need a new sketch book soon too... ;_; I don't want to say goodbye!! *hugs sketch book* I hate starting news one cause they're no other pictures in them. I like to look back at all my pretty pictures of Bishounen and other characters. I drew a picture of Hatori and Shigure and added it in my gallery at DeviantArt. It came out pretty good, Shigure has his hair slicked back and his suit on cause I wanted him too. Shigure is so cute, he's not my favorite, but he's still so cool!

ohh... I would love to see that picture of Shigure! He looks good in the anime in a suit and all!! lol
