It took a while, but a month ago, I finally bought the last three volumes of the anime, took 'em hom, and watched them. And then shrieked all the way through the last four episodes. Exactly whose brilliant idea was it to end the series that way?! How could they have done that to my Tsume-sama and Toboe, who is my friend's WR bishie? And it really bugged me about Hubb too; he's my second-string bishie for WR (I always have a spare, cause you just never know.)

I drew a WR fanart of what the four wolves would possibly look like if they were girls instead of guys, I should color it soon. Toboe: not much of a stretch to the imagination. I don't know if I'm quite satisfied with Tsume yet and I don't know where to put the scar, if at all. And what would their names be; would they have female names. A ha, perhaps a challenge!

Right there with you, Casey. I love the series, but the ending bites! I don't ask for sunshine and roses in all of my endings, I just ask not to feel cheated at the end, and in this case I felt cheated. :angry:

Tsume! T_T I haven't seen the end. Everyone dies, right?

As actually answering yes or no will probably get my answer edited on the basis of being a spoiler, I will simply answer this way: *Starts sobbing.* :(

Yeah, they all die, Mishi. Everyone. It's horrible. I heard even the VAs were thrown for one by it. Tsume, however dies gloriously from wounds received while fighting Darcia; okay well, that's not glorious cause he freaking dies! Why, why, why?! However, the very end credits show Kiba, in human form again, wandering through the city a la the opening credits and we see the other three wolves also in human form: Hige's eating a hotdog, Toboe's picking up a stray kitty (aw!) and wearing a coat and hat, and Tsume is stopped at a traffic light on a motorcycle. And then you see a shot of a lunar flower I think growing in some alley; no sign of Blue, the humans, or Darcia. My understanding from the ending is that when Kiba and Cheza's blood mingled and flowed into the water, somehow the world restarted; well, in that the city still looks like a slum, but at least our wolf bishies are alive again. And I like to think that Blue's alive and with Hige and that Cher and Hubb are alive and have at least one cute little kid. Darcia can stay dead and I could care less if Quent got resurrected. A friend of mine doesn't believe that this is resurrection, that it's merely flashbacks. But if that's the case, why're Hige and Toboe wearing different outfits and Tsume is on a bike?

I think I'm about ready to color in that fanart, though I'm still really suspect of the female Tsume. Maybe it's just he's so dang hot as a guy that it's hard to transfer that to female form. At any rate, the girl form wears high heeled, high, hooker-like boots (actually they're a bit like Blue's), a short, low-rise skirt with a chain belt, and a halter top that sort of looks like Tsume's jacket in front. She's the grey line of hair right along the scalp and the earrings and I hope to make the whole thing look creditable when colored. Perhaps I'll post it, I have an account on theotaku.com
