About a month or so ago, the Fems, P-Chan, and my sis got together and had a marathon of a school romance comedy called School Rumble. Now, despite it's title, there is really isn't any fighting in it. Yet, it is still quite entertaining. I have never laughed so hard at an anime since the dub of Trouble Chocolate. And I garantee anyone who sees this show will be rolling in the isles.

The story is basically about a girl who is, of course, in love with a certain boy in her class, but he doesn't know it. She tries hard to make him aware of her feelings. At the same time, another boy, a delinquent is in love with her and he is trying the same thing. Both are failing horribly at letting their crushes know how they feel.

Sounds a bit blah, doesn't it? But believe me, it's far from that. I've actually been getting extremely tired of the high school romance story. All the new ones I've looked at have bored me. So far, I believe Kare Kano is the only one who has done this right. Though I am getting back into Hana Yori Dango (Boys over Flowers) which is also pretty good. (Note for Hana Yori: If you're interested in this series, DON'T watch the anime, only read the manga. I wanna shoot those responsible for that anime, they ruined it. I could make a better show from that series by myself)

ANYWAY, back on topic here. My point was, I'm too easy to please these days when it comes to this kind of story, but I was absolutely enthrawled with all I saw of School Rumble and would recommend it to ANYONE. Unfortunately, it hasn't been lisenced yet and it's hard to find for download. But if it does come out, you better believe I"ll be all over that like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm.

Oh, I have seen first volume of the manga for it though. Can't vouch for it since I haven't read it yet, but it might be worth your time.

I love this series!~ It rocks my socks. Most people LOVE excel saga and whatnot in terms of zany anime, but this one has way better humor and keeps your attention without being completely spazzy. I thought it was hilarious and loved every minute of it. I cant' wait to see more!

How much do I love School Rumble?
Let me put it this. I downloaded the entire series, the OVAs, and the THEME SONG, AND bought all the miniatures and a pencil board (even though I never use them) at a convention. When I saw that the Manga was out I BOUGHT IT ON SIGHT!

Kago is currently not-quite-patiently awaiting season 2.
Personally I'm hoping that Harima and Tenma end up together, even though he deserves so much better than her at this point.
