Title: Trigun
Description: I can't believe this isn't here already.

It has a wealth of sexy bishonen. It has one hell of a heavy story. It's funny. The anime is just as good, if not better than the manga. The art is great, if not remarkable.

It has Vash, who is such a sweetheart and carries the heavy weight of his past on his shoulders...

It has Wolfwood, who is cool because he is a chain-smoking, gun-toting, cross-lugging, motorbike-driving -killing- man of God. (gotta love those naughty priests. Is there just ONE priest in anime that plays a significant role and is NOT somehow corrupted?)

It has Knives, the only villain who has managed to captivate me and fascinate me as much as my other top bishounen. I normally can't understand my fellow-fangirls' attraction to villains. I think: 'Evil, soul-stealing, genocidal, rapist, sadistic bastard, EEEEEEWWW.' No matter how hot, there's always a certain inhumanity in villains that disqualify them from my bishonen list. Except for Knives.

I've been collecting the manga since it first came out. The latest volume is Trigun Maximum, Volume 7, and until I found Fem-Gri-La and the S.O.B. and found out that there was a debate about him being in there because he didn't die in the manga, I was dreading Volume 8 because I thought that was the volume where he would die. Thank you, Femmes! I cry in joy! TT_TT

I totally love Trigun!! :P I'm also surprised it wasn't posted on here. Anyways, I only have seen 5 episodes and have read #1, #2, and I skipped to #4. (The store didn't have #3 at the moment) *sigh* I really wish they'd hurry up and get it in stock. <_< But, I'm just as happy w/out #3 anyway.

You can order it. And is that number 1 and 2 of Trigun or 1 and 2 of Trigun Maximum... and stuff...

Fang-chan - February 3, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
That's so awesome, Mishi!! I've never thought of ordering it. (I have actually) But, I just thought ordering a manga is just a waste of time. So, I just buy them at Suncoast.

It's easier than running around all the bookshops and comic shops in Montreal trying to find it. It took me forever to find Yu-Gi-Oh volume 24, for instance. Every time I checked the manga section of one particular store, it always had volume 23, and volume 25, but it never had the one in between. And yet, Yu-Gi-Oh is a bestselling series. It has to be, since it is probably the first anime of many eight-year-old future fanboys and fangirls.

And try running around Montreal looking for an early volume of 3x3 Eyes. The numbers on the spine of the volumes on the shelves are never lower than 30. Unless it's volume one. <_<

Far less trouble to just wait a week or two until Lu (the sweet man who owns my favorite anime shop) recieves it. After all, the best part is the waiting.

Seventy, I think.

Knives just fascinates me, though. I had never seen such an alluring villain, until him. I want to get into his mind. I mean, wow. He's a genius; one year old and he and Vash were doing work on board the ship in an hour that would take the rest of the crew a day. He's got a twisted sense of morality, but it's there. He thinks he's doing the Universe a favour by getting rid of humans, and to tell the truth, sometimes I think he's right.

And, you know, he created a small oasis in the last episode. That's where he waits for Vash so they can have their final showdown. I hug trees, so a man who can make a patch of greenery grow on an inhospitable, desert planet is indescribably sexy to me.

I was so dissapointed when the whole angel-arm thing blew the trees up. >_<

You are a WEIRD person/immortal, Mishi. Anyways, we're still BEST friends. (Don't worry!)

Oh! Now I know! It takes 75 posts to be "bishounen crazy!" Nyahahahahaha!!! :P

Mishi - February 9, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)
When typecasting our tastes in bishounen, my friends as one decided that I always fell for the freaks.

(It's true, too. In my top 6 alone I've got a rock-man, a half-dead zombie, a kid with a serious case of multiple personality disorder, plus a strange card-game fetish, a half-vampire with severe personal issues and two power plants with childhood trauma.)

Mishi - February 9, 2006 01:35 AM (GMT)
Indeed. It's hard to keep up with a Wolfwitch, a dragon, a shinigami and a kitsune, even when you are a runic sorceress of great power. XP

Humans, even ageless ones, just can't catch a break.

Aaaaargh! *foams at mouth* I just got Volume 8 and let met tell you, it is not for the faint of heart. DX Wolfwood get seriously bloodied and messed up, and I was constantly afraid he was going to die, but everytime I thought it would happen, it didn't. There's even one point at which Vash thinks Wolfwood has died:

'He's lost a lot of blood. His organs are riddled with bullets. This must be it...' And just as Vash and I were prepared to mourn his passing, he wakes up!

Damn you Wolfwood, how can you do this to us?!

Mishi - February 11, 2006 02:58 AM (GMT)
I'm fine. All I'm saying is that people can't notice what they don't believe exists. If they don't believe vampires exist they dismiss all the evidence and find excuses. Otherwise their personal world shatters.

I think I sound more like Yuuko from XxxHolic.

Mishi - February 17, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
It alway struck me as funny that vampires are supposedly immortal so long as they drink human blood, and yet there are so many ways to repel them...

Well, I dunno who told you that Vash dies, but he doesn't. Maybe he confused Vash with Knives? Knives doesn't die either, but Vash beats him pretty badly. I don't think Knives will join the 'We Got Sense Knocked Into Our Thick Skulls By Vash the Stampede Club' so quickly, though. He really needs therapy.

I was discussing the eigth volume with Keily-sempai the other day, and I said I was sad because as a result of Knives absorbing a whole bunch of plants into himself, he was going a bit nuts because the consciousness of the other plants was trying to take over. Keily-sempai says to me: "Watch me go all motherly on him: 'and whose fault is that? You were the one who had to absorb all those plants! Now go back to your bulb and think about your naughty deeds! Go to you bulb, right now!' "

*ahem*

Since I KNOW that P-Chan will NOT be happy with that response.. Did you not notice that he's one of the MODERATORS? It's really not smart of you to respond to him that way.

Basically, here's the gist of the situation:

This is a thread about TRIGUN. Not about whatever you believe yourself to be. I'm sorry if you think people don't believe you're a vampire, but there are GOOD reasons for that. So, instead of reacting by calling one of the moderators a not nice word, maybe you should have apologized for going off topic..

So.. Back to Trigun.. I thought it was creepy that, in english, Legato had Kenshin's english voice...

Mishi - March 15, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
Wasn't it Hotohori's english voice actor?

Personally, I have a ball imagining Count D speaking Legato's monologue to Kuroneko-sama.

I think it's really creepy
but really awesome

since I adore Kenshin, anyone who has his english voice actor
as their character goes down on my list of "must listen to"

caseyanimefan - December 10, 2006 09:03 PM (GMT)
Kenshin's dub voice is Richard Hayworth, I think. Legato was cute, but creepy; I prefer my beloved Wolfwood-sama. I got made fun of when we watched the series in club and I shrieked when he died. I couldn't help myself; it's heart-breaking. He finally realized that there were better things to do in his life and he said he wanted to stay with her, meaning Millie. Wah, they were so sweet together! Why do bad things happen to all the wrong people?!

Mishi - December 11, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
He dies in the manga too. Trigun Maximum, Volume 10. Wolfwood, why must you break my heart so? T_T Just when Wolfwood had me convinced he was at least as immortal as Vash...

Livio made me so sad...
