Title: Full Metal Alchemist
Description: For everyone's sake do NOT call Ed short
Sirius - July 22, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
Im just getting to like this anime alot. I like most of the characters especaily Ed cause I love his personality. I also like Al and Roy Mustang. But I just dont know why Ed is so sensitive about his size. Probobly because he get mad that every calls his short :P Go Ed and Al! Get the philosophers stone!
KFG24 - July 22, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)
Ummm...Sirius?We already have an FMA thingie...Couldn't you've just posted there?
Ed is sensitive about his height because if he wasn't,it wouldn't be so funny when someone makes fun of him! The sad thing is that, even when they were kids(while their mom was alive)Al was taller than Ed even though Ed's the older brother!
The olny bad thing about Full Metal Alchemist is the fan fictions...It's all Ed/Roy and Al/Ed! :(
...Wouldn't that make Roy a pedofile?

hmm your right, cause those are like everyone's favorite characters but it makes it sort of stupid like that. ;) Any way, theres another full metal topic? Darn! typical me always putting stuff in the wrong place. <_<
*Looks some where else !!!!! there is!! and theres like TWO of them... that sucks <_<

SOMEBODY RESPOND TO THIS!!! <_<
Please?
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - February 27, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)
I'll respond, just for you, and myself, because I'm selfish
yeah, so FMA
my favorite character is Roy Mustang
except I totally hate him at the same time
he can be such a freaking jerk sometimes
but he's so cute... anyways
I first heard about FMA from a friend
so then I found this great
free manga reader online with it
so I read a lot of that, no idea where it stopped
but ever since my computer crashed and burned
I can't find the website again!
well, [adult swim] started showing it a while ago
so I stopped looking for the manga and
watched the anime
sadly I didn't like the anime as much as the manga
so I altogether stopped my FMA craze
but it still holds memories
FMA ROCKS!
Mishi - February 28, 2006 04:37 AM (GMT)
I never really got into FMA.
Perhaps because my friends are obsessed.
It's perverse, I know.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the show.
I don't particularly dislike it.
But it's one of those series that I can totally live with not seeing the ending.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - February 28, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
yeah, that's probably why I stopped watching
it just goes on and on and it can be so depressing
also, the whole friends thing...
when I walk around I see so many people
wearing the FMA shirts that's it's kind of disheartening
I sort of feel it's turned into the older fangirls Yu-Gi-Oh
so many people watch it that it has sort of lost
its lu.ster :(
Mishi - February 28, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
I think we read the scanlations at the same site. It stopped at around chapter 40 and never updated after that.
You have a point. It's uberpopular right at the moment, which is awesome for anime because FMA is a *good* show. But because it's super-popular, people who already knew about anime before FMA are getting annoyed at it.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 1, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
yeah, I was hoping I wasn't the only one who felt that way
I get pretty annoyed when little kids come up to you
and act like they know so much more than you about anime
when you actually know SO freaking much more than them
one day I brought my Deathnote manga to school to let a friend borrow
well, this one little kid saw that I had it on my table
so she comes over to me and says with the snottiest tone EVER
"you know they came out with the second one already."
then she does this little head swivle and I want to kill her
so then I tell her
"yeah, I know, it's in my bag." so pull it out of my bag
and she looks at me like she wants to put her hand in my face
and say whatever, loser.
GOD, that BRAT.
anyways, FMA has been getting that whole vibe at my school
all my friends and people who've been hooked on anime forever
have been getting brash comments from little kids
Mishi - March 2, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
Really? Anime's not so popular here that people use it as a status symbol.
I nurture little brats. I coddle them so they'll hopefully turn into hardcore fans.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 2, 2006 03:55 AM (GMT)
well, anime is really popular at my school
because I go to a "school for the gifted"
in other words, we only take honors classes
because we only take really smart people
who have an IQ above a certain number
so in other words, we have no sports
and most people who go to my school
are artsy fartsy so most people are exposed
to anime at a young age because we're
2nd through 12th
so those who come at an early age (like me)
learn about anime by the time they're 7 or 8
my babysitter who got me hooked went to my school
and I met her when I was in 2nd grade
it's almost a tradition, lol
anyways, staying on topic
I haven't seen much of FMA since I stopped
looking for manga online
but someone told me that
the red eye on the watch that state alchemists get
is actually a philosopher's stone
is that true?
(please note, if it's true, then that's a spoiler, so label that)
Mishi - March 2, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
Lucky you. I went to a private school where you had to take tests to get in. (but we still had gym class. It's unhealthy to even have it only once a week and we had it once a week. Now I'm taking an intensive course and my first gym class is March 17th. The semester started in mid-January) I guess we're not all that exclusive.
It's sort of nice to be just a small gang that's into anime, though. That way no one else knows what you're talking about and it's easy to be the expert in a small group.
I haven't really seen FMA myself, preferring to just read scanlations, but I doubt that the eyes on the watches are philosopher's stones. It would be too easy for Ed. Why would he look for a philosopher's stone if he already had one?
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 3, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
my school:
you have to take a test and have a high IQ to get into
we have Some sports, just not high school sports
we also have gym, it's required
for little kids it's once a week
for 7th and 8th graders they have gym every other day
(I skipped the 7th and 8th grade gym
and took high school orchestra instead)
and the whole anime thing, I guess it's nice
but then you get the brat problem
well, you see
Ed could have gotten the watch,
but that doesn't mean they told him the
watch had a philosopher's stone in it
so he could have had one the whole time
and not known it
but I don't know the true answer
that's why I'm throwing it out there
Mishi - March 3, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
It seems like a rather loose loophole, don't you agree? Besides, I don't think they have enough convicts to make a philosopher's stone for EVERY state alchemist.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 3, 2006 02:49 AM (GMT)
yeah, that's true too, the convicts thing
but I dunno, that's why I'm asking
Mishi - March 3, 2006 06:10 AM (GMT)
It seems too easy. Ed's a smart boy. He would have figured it out.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 4, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
...
okay, sure
but I'm just going to wait till someone who knows the true answer
answers
