Title: What...where...how?!
Description: "ooh! I love BISHIES!" ...?
Samsus - May 8, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
I don't know what Bishounen is. I want to read it. I want to know what people ARE F-UH-REAKIN' TALKING ABOUT! But I can't...until someone really does.

KFG24:  *in shock*
GWEN:Ahem.Bishonen means beautiful man,or pretty boy.Take for example Kenshin(Ruroni Kenshin),Kurama(Yu Yu Hakusho),Nuriko(FY),Yuki(Fruits Basket),or Shun(Knights of the Zodiac).I know there are others, but I'm just listing those ones because they're obviously beautiful men.
But you see, some people are stange and they say people like Hiei for instance, are bishonen.Hiei is not bishonen.
BLAISE:What was that?!
GWEN:I'm going with the correct definition of Bishonen Blaise.Hiei is not beautiful.
BLAISE:...But he is hot right?
GWEN:*sighs*Yes Blaise.Hiei is hot...Now go make Harlee wake up.
BLAISE: :D Alright...*holds up two fingers*Hey Harlee,how many figers 'm I holding up?
KFG24:Kurama...
GWEN:  Typical...Fan girls like to say every anime guy they like is a bishie(short for bishonen). But usually,he is not.Does that help?

. . . .
You like typing like that, don't you?
And so as long as the character dude is "beautiful"(wait a sec, that sounds kind of gay...)then that means he is "bishie" or bishonen? Yeah...

Well.. sort of...
Bishounen.. Shounen means boy. They've blended two words together, I'm assuming, and BIshounen means, actually, "Pretty Boy".. Yuki from Fruits Basket would probably be the best way to describe it. Remember when the women at the place Tohru works didn't know if the person waiting at the door was male or female? Yeah.. That's the best way to describe it.
All of us Femmes.. well, we have a bit of a different definition, as we've decided to include ALL beautiful men in our "Bishounen" meaning. Like me. I love Ayame. He's SOOOOOOOo beautiful as to be almost unreal in his beauty. But he's technically not a boy, since he's supposed to be about 28. TECHNICALLY, he's a "Biseinan" I think that's spelled right.. but we don't care. So we count him.. and Sesshoumaru who is a who know's how old demon.. or even Kakashi who's also an older, handsome man. That's just the way we are. ;)
Do you kind of get it, Samsus? Maybe you'll understand a little better when you're a little older and like boys more. ;) Eeee!!! *Runs away from Ty-chou* :ph43r:

....no-chan has skills....
anyways, yea, as no-chan said, bishounen is basically a pretty boy. the tern "bishie" or "bish" is basically the shortened version of the word bishounen, and would be grammatically incorrect in the japanese language, but who really cares about grammar?
personally, i think that most people now use the term bishounen for male characters from japanese animation that they like, whether or not they are beautiful.....i heard someone who liked kurapika [hunter x hunter] and rock lee [naruto] and called them both 'bishounen'. now, the term used on kurapika would be used correctly, but rock lee....its just not right.
and thus my rant ends. [and no-chan, i know of your distaste towards rock lee, but if at all possible, we say no more of him here, oke? i would be eternally grateful.]
