Title: Dnangel
Description: has anyone posted this?
Samsus - April 28, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
Well, if not, then I'm going to.
DNAngel is good, but I've only seen episode 1-3. I don't like it when the dude transforms into Phantom Dark. It's...nasty...if you think about it. Well, give your opnions and stuff.
Pan Pan - April 28, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
*gasp choke sputter* It's nasty? o_o I love this series! The anime is not quite the same as the manga, but it's... it's... still... so pretty... I've never heard it called nasty. o.o wow. um... yeah. I guess the idea of a guy transforming is weird? but um... it happens to females all the time in anime, so... *shrug* I guess I didn't think it was all that weird or nasty... and Dark is dang sexy. ^_^ anyway... um... yeah... that's all.

Nasty? It wasn't nasty in the manga...But,just be glad this isn't Sailor Moon Stars...Three boys turn into girls...And don't you think that the idea of three boys getting sex changes everytime they transform into sailor scouts is a bit more disturbing than Daisuke chaning into the oh so sexy,Dark Mousy*snickers*?
...So THAT's why they haven't dubbed SMS...
kitsune_yurei - May 5, 2005 09:33 AM (GMT)
......if you gave reasons why you would think its nasty, i'd probably judge your opinion more reasonably.....
i dont find DNAngel to be nasty. in fact, DNAngel is the first shoujo series that i got hooked on....and that's a fairly rare event in my life.....
Samsus - May 8, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
I like Dark and Daisuke and everything...but, you just gotta THINK...
...then you'd be purely disgusted.
I think the angel wings are b-e-a-utiful and I love the animation. I'll be getting the manga soon, and I hope I get addicted to it! :D (Wow, my first smiley; I never smile.) I like Phantom Dark the best, but in the anime, his voice sounds like a preppy boy who thinks he is so great and what not. Not that Dark IS, but I mean the voice. They should have made Dark's voice a bit more manly but still very cute-sounding. I know that sounds gay, but I still think so.
shippoufan - February 5, 2006 06:07 AM (GMT)
Ok episode 27/26 ( depending where you are wtching it) totally sucks! It's the last epsiode, and throughout the series, what's with the Riku/Dai romance? It's really annoying <_< any way Dark is soo cool and a yes youtube.com is my buddy it has dna episodes that it does.
Mishi - February 5, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
I don't like the anime because it changes something very important. In the anime, Daisuke chickens out. He never actually gives Risa the love letter. In the manga, he does, and he gets rejected, and then Risa says (to her friends, I'm not sure if Daisuke was around or not, but whatever...) she likes him and all, but she can't have such a plain boyfriend. She needs a super hot boyfriend to help her social status.
The manga, you see, gives me a very eloquent reason to hate Risa. She KNOWS that Daisuke likes her. No one can be THAT insensitive. It's downright cruel the way she shoves Dark into Daisuke's face all the time.
"Oh, Daisuke, I made lunch for you! I'm practising for Dark!"
"Oh, Daisuke, I looked all over for you! Would you please, pretty please help me find Dark?"
"Oh, Daisuke, which dress do you like? I'm going to wear it on my date with Dark tonight!"
>_< Heartless, cruel bitch.
shippoufan - February 5, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
I agree! I both read the manga and watch the show. They are like two different stories. No, but I hate Risa! She's upsessed with Dark! And, like Mishi said, she knows Dai likes her but still is talking about Dark and making Dai do stuff with her to help her find Dark! She's so cruel
Mishi - February 6, 2006 04:11 AM (GMT)
Risa has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Dark has better taste in women. XD.
Fang-chan - February 8, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
D.N. Angel is soooo awesome! I own all of the manga. (my sister steals it) My favorite one definitly has to be #3.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 1, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww, no fair!!!!!
the only episode I've seen of DNAngel is the first
one because it came free when I bought a Newtype magazine
I have most of the manga, cuz that's how I found out about it
I LOVE the manga SOOO much!
I keep telling myself to stop spending so much money on it
but when I get to the store... it STARES at me!
Dark is dang sexy.
Then definitely Satoshi second.
I have a thing for intelligent blondes. ^_~
Mishi - March 2, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
Satoshi isn't blonde. Funny, Milie made the same mistake, and that's after watching the anime.
Satoshi has blue hair
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 2, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
oops, I meant Krad...
heh heh ^_^;
yeah, I like Satoshi too
and I know he has blue hair
cuz he's on the cover of one of the mangas
with his amazing blue hair
daisuke = red
satoshi = blue
dark = black
krad = blonde
Mishi - March 2, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
O_O Have you noticed? The main character is always red, and his rival is always blue?
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 3, 2006 02:09 AM (GMT)
well, I've always noticed the color changes
in protagonists and antagonists,
like dark is evil and white is good
probably because I personally
like to use colors as symbolism
Mishi - March 3, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
Good is often white, and black is very often evil.
Slayers likes to toy with that notion. There's a part where Amelia yells: "Miss Lina, this man must be an impostor!" *points to Halcyform the White* "Everyone knows villains always wear black!"
But I wasn't referring to the color scheme of good vs. evil, I was referring to the color scheme of protagonist vs. rival, which is sometimes different. In Pokemon, for instance. Ash is Red, and Gary is Blue. Daisuke is red, and Satoshi is blue. Tyson is red and Kai is blue. Lina Inverse uses fire (red) magic. Naga the Serpent uses ice (blue) magic...
And even when the rival isn't blue, there are still so many red protagonists: Kenshin, Inuyasha, Ranma, Vash the Stampede, Edward Elric...
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 3, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
hmm...
I dunno what's so special about red
blue is my favorite color
I guess artists just wanted to get
away from the old fashioned black and white
personally, I like things black and white
lol
Mishi - March 3, 2006 06:17 AM (GMT)
The Rival isn't necessarily the evil one. This is especially true in stories where the main character is a thief or in a line of work that is of rather ill repute.
Like Satoshi: he's a detective. It's his job to catch thieves. Is he bad? No. He just thinks that thievery is immoral and that he should stop Dark.
Naga the Serpent is a bad person, but then again, so is Lina.
To get away from the colour-comparisons, Light is the villain of DeathNote. He's the main character, but he's also the villain, and L is his rival. But traditional views of good and evil would say that L was good and Light was bad.
Besides, the Rival is often a character totally apart from the villain. Gary is the Rival, but Team Rocket are the villains. (inept villains, but the comparison suffices)
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 4, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)
lol, Team Rocket
yeah, I completely understand what you're saying
and I know that they can show the bad guys as the
good guys when they are actually the bad guys
and I know that Raito is the bad guy
but since he's the main character he gets to
pretend he's the good guy
which he literally thinks he is
I think the reason I like DNAngel so much
is because it has pretty art and it's mysterious
it makes you want to buy the next book
which... I do
and god there are so many books
so much money!
Mishi - March 4, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
Yes... This is why I try to find series that won't have lots of books. So that they don't turn into major investments, like Yu-gi-oh.
Color schemes are confusing sometimes. I'd like to see a main villain in pink.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 6, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
what about that bubblegum guy, Buu, from DBZ?
don't ask me how I know these things.
I don't really like mixing with the villian/good guy colors
that's another reason why I like DNAngel
I like having Dark as black and Krad as white
Krad seems the bad guy, but I guess he's really
the good guy
Mishi - March 6, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)
Oh, yes, Buu. I forgot about him. (Actually, I know a fair lot about Dragonball Z, having been the sister of a Dragonball fan for an equally fair number of years.)
Breaking conventions is fun. I like seeing a protagonist in black. It's sexy. Like Yami and Vampire Hunter D.

Back to the topic, Does Dark wear sexy black spandex?
Fang-chan - March 15, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
I don't really know about Dark, but another character does!
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 15, 2006 01:28 AM (GMT)
I really like Dark because of his personality
... yeah, he's totally sexy, but I like the suave way he acts
almost like nothing can go wrong even when it does
Mishi - March 15, 2006 05:21 PM (GMT)
Actually, I never really like the guys who fancy themselves lady-killers. There's something really unnattractive about that. But Dark? Dark sort of makes up for it in sheer sex appeal.
KFG24 - March 16, 2006 07:59 AM (GMT)
Now that I have seen the anime,I must say that the manga is a bit better...One of my reasons is that there are more reasons for you to hate Risa.A lot more.

Hear, hear, sister.
I think I ranted about that exact topic a few posts ago.
Selphie Tivrusky 5 - March 18, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)
totally agreeing with you guys
Daisuke is too cute for them
and Dark shouldn't be hanging around with minors ^_~
Mishi - March 20, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
*snicker* No kidding. How old is Dark again? Several hundred years, I think? But I don't think we can really hold that against him. Hell, until September I'm still a minor, and most of my favorite bishis are too old for me.
Hell, even Yakumo is 20 years old, and don't even get me started on Knives's age...
KFG24 - January 4, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
Ah yes...Here it is.
Isn't it kinda odd how people constantly rant about stuff like,'Oh no!He's her teacher! They shouldn't be going out! He's too old for her!',for some animes but the same people for other animes will say,'Well sure he's over a century old,but he doesn't look like it,so I think having him paired up with the __ year old school girl is a good idea! They look so cute together!'
It gets annoying.
Mishi - January 5, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
No, I think it's perfectly logical. You can't take a shoujo romance series set in the real world the same way you take a fantasy comedy.
I have a bit of a problem with student-teacher relationships because a teacher can have a huge influence on a young girl and it's just so easy for her to get hurt in that situation.
KFG24 - January 12, 2007 06:36 AM (GMT)
Meh.I was reffering to different sereies by the way. :D Hate the second couple, but kinda liked the first. ^_^
Ichirin no hana - January 12, 2007 12:22 PM (GMT)
Were you reffering to Please!Teacher?? Because in the given situation that romance is actually very plausible....now excuse me..I need to look up the word "plausible" in the dictionary..
Mishi - January 12, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
Please! Teacher? Is that the one where this guy ends up living in a house with most of his teachers because they found out he had no parents and took maternal pity on him?
Ew.
That situation isn't plausible at all- period.
Ichirin no hana - January 13, 2007 12:51 AM (GMT)
No, its where the kid went into a coma for 3 years from witnessing his sister's suicide and then woke up 18 but still looking like a 15 year old , ends up living with his uncle and aunt, finds out his ew teacher is an alien, marries her, so on and so forth
Mishi - January 15, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
Ichirin no hana - January 15, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah, didn't make much sense to me either
Mishi - January 18, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
It sounds familiar. I read a favorable review of it, although it doesn't sound like the kind of series I'd be interested in.
