I just went and saw it! It was so cool!!! And and.... MY POOR SETO-KUN!!! He gets -insert movie spoiler here- (heh heh heh) andhe was so cute (Not to mention so vulnerable to fangirlish actions. *cough*) in that position!!! Wai!!! Over all I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes the show. In fact I'm going to go see it again next saturday and on my best friends' birthday. Whee!! ^0^

Rin: ROGER MOORE SHOULD DIE!!!!! HE BAD MOUTHED Yu-Gi-Oh the movie!!!! When I find him, I'll (insert very, very violent death threat here). Yes, and then I'll say to all the other movie critics. THIS IS WHAT I DO TO PEOPLE WHO BAD-MOUTH MY MOVIES!!!!!!!!

Apparently he gave it a bad review in the Valley Tribune.... And I'm heading over to egg his house now...

Rin: DEATH TO ROGER MOORE!!!!

Dude! The Blue Eyes White Jet was SWEET! Damn rich kids get all the cool toys.
Anwho... I went with my little sister and my little cousin. All I wanted was the free card, but the movie turned out to be a lot better than what I was expecting. 'Course, they usually are. Even the Pokemon movies are pretty decent once you actually sit down and watch them... but I digress. It was surprisingly dark and violent for a kids movie, and it had alot of one liners in it that would probably go over a little kids head.
Still would've rather seen AVP, but it was worth seeing.

Oh, and before I forget, Pegasus is still as fruity as ever, even without his Millenium Eye.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light:
For those unfamiliar with the Yu-Gi-Oh series, it gives a brief summary of the series up to date. Yugi Mutou is a kid that lives with his Grandfather(we don't know much about the parents). His Gramps apparently dabbled a bit in ancient egyptian myth and even visited a few times. Which I'm assuming is how Yugi got his hands on an ancient gold puzzle. No one has been able to solve it, but somehow Yugi, who is awesome at just about every game he plays, is able to solve it. So that gold pyramid around his neck? yeah, that's the puzzle. When he put it all together, the spirit of one of the ancient pharaohs that was living in the puzzle, awoke. When they work together, they become every gamer's worst nightmare. A nerdy short kid that NEVER loses at games. heh. Anyway, back to egypt, where trouble is brewing for a team of researchers. They uncover a tomb shaped like Anubis aka the Jackal aka the egyptian god of death... they also uncover an object that looks an awful lot like yugi's puzzle...

Cut to weeks later when the anubis tomb and the puzzle have become exhibits at the local museum... Yugi visits it and his puzzle resonates with the one on exhibit... awakening this ancient evil mummy dude who is lookin' for some revenge on the pharoah... Meanwhile Yugi's gaming rival and resident Rich Boy, Seto Kaiba is launching his own scheme to finally defeat Yugi and take away his best cards... (personally I would have gone with the "hire some thugs to beat him up and steal the cards..." but that's just me...) He finally stumbled upon a way to defeat yugi's strongest cards, but will he do it? Will the Anubis mummy dude get his revenge? watch the movie and find out!

Film Quality: not bad
Acting: About the same as the t.v. series
Dialog: Cheesy
Script: Slightly less cheesy

Oh, and before I forget, Pegasus is still as fruity as ever, even without his Millenium Eye.

Dude! My cousin met up with us and brought two of her kids. She didn't really want to see the movie, but hey that's what good mommies do.

Anyway, when Pegasus came on she leans over to whisper in my ear:

Jill: "I think he's gay."
me: *laugh* "yeah..."

Then later when Kaiba met with him and wanted to duel.. he told Kaiba 'don't be be nasty, save that for later.' (or something like that) And I hear: "Oh geez."

It was rather funny.

Pan pan, she was my cousin - not my aunt. :P

My Mom went with us too, and she had the exact same reaction... well when she wasn't laughing her ass off. She thought Pegasus was hilarious, especially when contrasted against Seto "I Have A Stick Up My @$$" Kaiba!
Pegasus was right, Kaiba does need a hug.
And the match... well once the Toon Gemini Elf hit the screen, we were pretty well incapacitated (Can you say Jessica Rabbit?). Apparantly Pegasus is alot more perverted than we give him credit for.

kaibas_gurl_ - August 17, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
I will brush aside the rude comments about Seto-kun and say that I'm glad you all liked the movie! I've heard so many bad reviews from other people, I didn't think anyone else here besides me would like it.

nie-chan - August 18, 2004 03:54 AM (GMT)
eh, our newspaper reviewer gave it one star! lol

it's not like it some deep piece of work here... it's just for fun. Geeshe critics sometimes.

I totally thought Pegasus was hilarious - how he treated Kaiba... it was so funny! He knows what buttons to push with Kaiba and he pushes them -

Sirius - April 28, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Heck ya Ive seen the movie *sigh* Soo, corny yet so funny. I wish they had Bakura in it they showed two seconds of mia but couldn't show Bakura. It would of been better with Bakura...

KFG24 - April 28, 2005 04:14 AM (GMT)
YuGiOh! The Movie wasn't very good in my opinion...It had no Bakura or Marik! And when Yami was stabbed, there was no blood! :( ...What?I don't like Yugi/Yami!Too many 'Heart of the Card' rants...

The best part was when Kaiba dueled Pegasus...Kaiba does need a hug!*many Kaiba fan girls run to Kaiba's house in the distance*But I was amazed that Kaiba really won a duel!I've been wondering why the still call him the campion when he hardly ever wins...

And why Kaiba can only take Yugi's Egpytian God Cards after beating him in a duel...Why not just knock him out and take them from his deck?Or hire a theif?Yugi won't miss them.

NansJns - June 13, 2005 04:35 AM (GMT)
CN showed Yu-Gi-Oh the movie last Friday, so I finally saw it. It certainly wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but I have seen worse. And Pegasus was hilarious! You know, they actually had a fair core idea here, they just didn't develop it as well as they could've. And the dub does have it's share of good lines, and a few good songs. Worth seeing once, at least. :)

otaku_kat - June 22, 2005 09:40 PM (GMT)
yeah K.G. and I saw it with our mom and Rin. I love it when Joey says "Tristian, I think we're not in Kansass anymore' talk about a total Wiz. of Oz rip off. But it was still funny, probebly the funniest part was with the mummies, and Tea kept on running around like an idiot coze she was freaked out. It was over all a good movie. (and of course K.G. hates me for getting a Blue Eyes Shining Dragon  )

Renae-chan - June 24, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
lol i rember seeing that! i when with my 19 (at the time) year old friend. and we were the only older kids in that theater...we felt like such dorks. but it was worth it the movie was AWESOME!!! and i got the dark sorcceror guy...can use him though..dang.

tagia - June 25, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
I can't watch Yugioh. My mom and dad said I am not aloud.

NansJns - June 25, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
  Why not? It's one of the tamest animes out there...

*~*Nans*~*

KFG24 - June 25, 2005 05:01 AM (GMT)
You can't watch Yu-Gi-Oh tagia?I have to agree with Nans,it IS one of the tamest animes out there...Ther's no blood,no nudity,no mechas(robots),very few(if any)relgious comments,no sexist remarks,no racism...
Yu-Gi-Oh! is the exact oppisite of Evangelion(full of almost all of the above[except for the last two I beleive...])!

Don't you think this is getting off topic therefor should be moved to the thingie for Yu-Gi-Oh! and not Yu-Gi-Oh!The Movie?Anyone?
